Its weird to se the disparity between the pc version and the ps5 version, but its a good rating actually. I was just hoping it would surpass Eternal though

I dunno man, 96% of reviewers recommend it

Ouch. I wish it was 98 or 99%

Guess I'll wait for a sale.

This place really kills the enjoyment of the hobby on a regular basis. Nice work.

Wow 5070ti performance sucks in this. This cant be right.
Maybe there's some setting that makes it perform so badly when set to Ultra Nightmare?

In any case, IIRC the game doesn't allow to disable RTX for reasons, so that's probably another reason for the performance to look so bad.

The first comment after the reviews started coming out was "Ouch".

You're not kidding, lol. We really love misery here.

Dont forget that this game has pathtracing, maybe those benchmarks are including it

One thing that I am reading and it made a bit sad is the soundtrack is not memorable, this in a Doom game is the worst news I could ever hear

Must be yeah. These must be path traced results. Normal RT wont be this expensive, especially after how well indy ran

Love is a strong word. It's irritating as fuck. Grumpy old men hoping everything fails and pre-pubescent fanboys hoping everything fails unless it's on the console they have pinned their own sense of self worth to.

It was expected since the music is literally written by Stock Music Movie Trailerhouse®™. It still puzzles me why id never went ahead to hire Andrew Hulshult full-time. Or maybe they fumbled the bag BTS once again and scrabmled the generic music guys as an emergency solution.

Papi, the first metacritic number that appeared was 82, that alone would make it the worst new doom rating in this new trilogy. Of course at first glance is dissapointing but now it went up and its 84 which is not bad. I dont know about you but I want sequels to even better than previous games, not worse

Shillman Lives thinks it's a cool game, but way worse than Eternal. :goog_relieved:

I believe the poor Nvidia performance is driver related. Hopefully those drivers give a significant bump in performance or I might just wait to see how it runs on PS5 Pro.

I had considered upgrading to a 5080 from my 3080 and getting this included but not with those performance metrics lol.

Barely much difference between low and ultra nightmare. What is this dear developers, why even include any options?

It's in line with the recent Doom games. It probably feels underwhelming to some because Dark Ages implemented a bunch of new gameplay mechanics. To the point that many believed it would take the franchise to a new level

It probably won't be a GOTY contender like previous Doom games either. But that has more to do with how competitive this year is

Gonna wait on a sale. I've got too much to play. I hate that I'm so spoilt that I only get day 1 hyped for 90s or games I'm a huge fan of, but there it is. This did review very well but I can't say I'm not just a tad disappointed. Currently seeing at 84, 85, and 86 on metacritic and I was hoping for 87+ honestly.

Needs framegen to run at 60fps at 1440p on a 4070?

Eternal ran like a dream, was expecting better.

Honestly, after dreamlike Eternal optimization... Not that great.

Dont play the game with UltraNightmare settings.

But seriously something seems a bit off with their analysis.
My results are usually in line with Techpowerup and they show the 4070 doing 60 even for lows at 1440p no DLSS.

Big difference between the 4090 and 5080. The 5080 is a joke.

The RTX 5080 is a 4080 Superer with MFG thats it.

YO.
That is some dire shit.

The 4080 is matching the 5080
The 5070Ti is losing to the 4070TiS.........what the hell?

Why is this unexpected?

We've known that this new batch of nvidia cards are worthless for a while now.

Going to get standard of this, doesn't seem to be worth full premium price

Having seen a few more reviews I'm now in wait for a sale mode unless a good deal pops up for a steam key before release.
