Dragon age is a significant franchise for EA, loved the journey in Kirkwall, leading the inquisition in 3, veilguard looks promising and could test nvidia’s capabilities.

How exactly is it ‘free’?
It's 'free' in the same way that games on show up on Game Pass are free or new Netflix movies are free. If you're already paying for the subscription, then I can understand that logic. If you're subscribing just to play Dragon Age, then it's not free in any manner.

However, I will agree that this is a desperation tactic.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
You're paying for 6 months of the service upfront.

Not exactly 'free'.

How is this a ‘desperation tactic’ when it’s a very well known move to bundle games with hardware or subscriptions on PC?

When games are bundled with Nvidia or AMD GPUs, nobody raises an eyebrow.

These type of deals usually happen when the party doing the bundling approaches the game developer/publisher and pays a lump sum for copies of the game to bundle.

The hate contingent for this game is beginning to seem unhinged.

Especially on this site. The purple forum is bad for different reasons, but this is getting annoying aswell. People see the new DA game title and rushing into the thread just to shitpost. Its okay if you dont like something, altho this game isnt even out and nobody played it here, just move on and try to focus on things you care about.

O Ozriel , my quote didn't work for some reason-

Sure, bundling games can and will sweeten the deal for anyone who is on the fence about buying a video card or subscribing to a service.

You have to face facts that reception for this game has been less than stellar.

The official reveal trailer has 46K likes and 286K dislikes with 4M views. The official gameplay reveal from 2 months ago has 88K likes and 122K dislikes with 1M views. And finally, the high level combat gameplay from 1 month ago has 11K likes and 5.6K dislikes with 299K views.

Interest in the game has dwindled significantly. But I guess I'm "unhinged" 🤷‍♂️

Reviews and sales numbers will tell the tale.

Yes, reception to the game seems shaky. Stuff that's been revealed about the game so far has elicited rather...strong reactions.

But i've never seen a thread about hardware or subscription bundling go this way. Black Myth Wukong was bundled with RTX GPUs shortly before launch...certainly never saw these disingenuous posts about that.

But I guess I'm "unhinged" 🤷‍♂️

You said it, not me.

Reviews and sales numbers will tell the tale.

hah! Previews were unanimously positive. Did that change your stance on this game?

You said "unhinged" directly in response to me. Don't move the goalposts, bud.

Never was interested in the game, and I'm still not. Maybe when it hits $20 in the bargain bin.

The hate contingent for this game comes, among others, from the fact that devs are already attacking fans, which undoubtedly is not a desperate move at all, who could even think about that.

I'm busy playing really good games like: Silent Hill 2, Sparking Zero, Wukong, Astrobot, Echoes of Wisdom, or Witchfire, until Bioware knows what their userbase really wants from a new Dragon Age game. thanks a lot for the offer, but no thanks
