The crying and whining over artistic expression remains the same.

It's very different to say that "this game's content should be banned" vs. "this game's content is shit". Jack Thompson was the former, modern discourse is the latter. Both can have the effect of games of that sort no longer being produced, but the latter doesn't compel it because of a moral disagreement.

That's still not the answer to the question that I asked you but I will answer your new question - There are generally accepted ways that people accept the label "white" or "black" based on either genetics, heritage, outward appearance, or cultural upbringing. Sometimes the line is clear and sometimes it is blurred. You can find real world examples of pushing these boundaries that range from the absurd (Dolezal) to the "odd but makes more sense" (Clinton being the first "black" president based on his contribution to black advancement). Since we use the same limited vocabulary to talk about a range of subjects that include both physical and mental traits, we need to be sure of the context of each conversation in order to make sense of each assessment.
So like a man or a woman? Genetics, chromosomes, biology?

Fair point, but I was only noting the similarity in the crying and whining of artistc experssion.

Similar, with a lot of overlapping concepts and vocabulary limitations, but not exactly the same.
I think it's pretty much the same. If you think you're in the wrong body, then what's the difference than if you think your a certain gender or race? Or if you think you're not a gender at all, in this instance of discussion.

The major differences is that with sex/gender, there are clear distinctions that differentiate the biological sexes, and clear psychological/cultural distinctions that differentiate gender identity expressions. However, the concept of race is for the most part a cultural context that maps a lot onto upbringing and outward appearance, but not necessarily genetics in the same way sex/gender does.

Do you only play games that have an accurate representation of what you consider normal in the real world?
Because it’s funny, you know—the game has dragons, magic, elves, even an afterlife, but it’s the pronouns that are a step too far, lmao
Has any country made any laws about magic elves and dragons? If you disturb the peace making a scene about dragons will you get a prime time Oprah Interview? White house tour?

there is a difference.
