Dragon Age: Veilguard |OT| 'Oof': A non-buynary return to form

I'm primarily in it to finish the Solas story.

Though reading some previews that he kinda takes a back seat is a real bummer. They set him up as the main antagonist in the last one, would be a weird design choice not to follow up on that.
I mean this is “Weird Design Choice” The Game! 😉

Most of the reviews are positive, but they’re obviously all paid shills.

SkillUp’s negative review is the only one that’s the truth.
That's the way it always goes with controversial games that get highish scores isn't it? The handful of reviews that reinforce preconceived beliefs are always held up as a uncontroversial fact. SkillUp is this case happens to fall under that category despite having some reviews in the past that most here would disagree with, and never even having played most of the previous Dragon Age games.

Come on man, that is quite obviously bullshit.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
If From made this artstyle, they'd be eating their ass like a hungry dog. Theres a ton of colorful jrpgs that gaf loves, but oh no, Bioware made a game colorful, ITS BAD!
You’re completely right about that, honestly, though the issue is that the art style here is so tonally inconsistent with the franchise and doesn’t really fit a game series that tends to take itself pretty seriously.

I subjectively think it’s also pretty ugly - at least the character designs - but I think there are issues beyond mere taste at play here.

I'm retarded?

It's not really inconsistent with the franchise. The issue people have is that it's not like the first and a crpg anymore, but every dragon age game looked completely different than the previous one. Everyone hated DA2 and how "actiony" and boring it looked. Then they made Inquisition colorful and varied. Now it's on par with Inquisition, except for the Qunari which I do agree, look like utter garbage, but one race won't stop me from hopefully enjoying the game. I might hate it, im not just blindly buying it and playing it like a lot of hardcore fanboys on gaf do when it comes to their favorite franchises. Every single game I loved has been heavily criticized by me.

Frankly surprised this is getting pretty good reviews, I just got a bad vibe from how sloppy the marketing has been. I'm not really invested in this series so it's the kind of game I might get around to eventually.

I said I wasn't gonna troll the OT, so I'll just say congrats to the eager fans, I hope all four of xem have a great time.

...but not too great!

*bops noses*

Grummz is everything fucking wrong with modern discourse. Grifting little shit burger, who’ll say anything just to earn a few extra dollars in engagement.

People like that were always going to show their hand when monetisation came into effect.

YouTube and its viewers normalised it years ago.

Step 1: It's not real <= You are here

Step 2: Yeah, it's real, but it's not a big deal

Step 3: It's a good thing, actually

Step 4: People freaking out about it are the real problem
Dude, Colin already debunked it and his name is on the fake document.
