Dragon's Crown - E3 2013 trailer

Teleport will move you in the direction you're holding, and costs a paltry amount of MP (20, I think?). So, while you shouldn't pull a Nightcrawler and *bamf* all over the place, it's a very serviceable escape plan.

Button info is pretty straightforward - X = jump, Square = normal attack, O = power attack R1 = dodge. The specifics change for each character tho - and that's too much to write out.

Is there any way to remap the controls? O as power attack instead of triangle is kind of weird.

Is triangle mapped to anything right now?

It's not netcode. The machines themselves are clocked at different speeds making it almost impossible to crossplay. They have to sync perfectly for a good online experience.

A dev would have to spend a lot of time to make it work.

What do you mean by clocked at different speeds? Refresh cycles in most games have nothing to do with processor cycles; sure, the PS3 version may be idling more, but nothing so far seems to suggest the framerate or speed of either version is different.

I'm guessing the advantage of it being mapped to O is that you can jump then power attack without lifting your thumb.

Monolith Soft (well, the more prominent people in it) also made Xenogears, which, flawed and all (and as my username might imply) is one of my favorite RPGs and games of all time. Still, I completely get what you're saying; it's just that Xenoblade is just so amazing that for me, it counts as those three games. :D

Double Fine is more of an acquired taste and not for everyone (a lot of people disliked Brütal Legend, for example, while I loved it), but one thing that's undeniable is that every one of their games is different. Not just different to the rest of their games, but different in some way to anything in the market. They're the most innovative western company in my opinion right now.
I also love Xenogears; I didn't even hate the second disk. I just consider that a "Square" game.

I don't subscribe to the notion that the company logo stamped on a game's cover is more important that the team that made it; team that left en masse to create Monolith soft. Much like, yes, Okami may bear a Capcom logo, but to me it's a Platinum Games game.

Perhaps it would be more correct to say "Tetsuya Takahashi and his crew", "Hideki Kamiya, Shinji Mikami and their crew", etc. I just use their current studio name as a shorthand.

Which leads me back to Capcom. With Inafune gone, Kamiya, Mikami and Inaba on Clover Studio, who remains at Capcom that's relevant? It's just a brand name and a bunch of IPs that are, at best, milked dry with little in the way of innovation, and at worst, left to rot. Sure, I'll buy some of their games because they have some amazing IPs (I just bought Chronicles of Mystara yesterday), but I find nothing of what they do exciting at all.

By the way, the same applies to Square, although I guess in their case it's even more obvious, as well as many others; I think it's actually a natural progression that leads the best creators to outgrow and leave their parent companies. Only on Nintendo that doesn't seem to happen; they must pamper Miyamoto and co. something fierce. :D

Itsuno and Dogma keep me interested in Capcom sill, personally

I find it hard to forgive him after DMC2. I tried both (PS3/360) Dragon's Dogma demos and while I liked the gameplay, I couldn't get past the terrible framerates and tearing. If it's released on PC then I'll definitely get it.

So I'm new to this game, but I'm interested after playing Muramasa. It's the same game on vita and ps3, and I can transfer saves but I still have to buy a copy for my ps3 and my vita if I want to do that, right?

What's the point, besides that cross saving, of buying two copies?

2 pre-order artbooks? Ability to play it where you want? Ability to play with the online communities of the PS3 and Vita versions? Offline Co-Op on PS3, DAT OLED on PSV?

Think of it as similar to buying 2 copies of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, one for 3DS, one for your Wii U. Having both gives you options on how and when you play, but they're ultimately the same game....

Offline co-op might be worth it to play with my wife. I don't know how she'd feel about these big ass titties flopping around. It's online cooper for the Vita, right?

Aye. Each version has their own online worlds, and can also offer online play between their own consoles. They just can't play the same game together at the same time.
