I tried to do an escort quest and encountered 2 Chimeras and 2 Cyclopses, so I gave up. Next up was Grimoire's tome. I found the book

but on my way back I had to fight so many bandits that I just ran away.

This pretty much describes my experience with side quests. Being that difficult, I supposed that whatever was posted on the boards was also difficult and didn't bother. Should I go back?

If you go a page back, this is the exact quest we were talkin about. Unless you're a DD vet, this is the only quest that seems totally out of place to me. You're a new player, just arrived in the main town, and you get a quest..an escort quest at that.. and they want you to go across the world to places you won't see for another 40 levels. On one hand, cool, on the other hand..wut. Not to mention the quest becomes unavailable unless you fulfill certain requirements with that npc.

Beginning of DD on hard is way harder than the beginning of Dark Souls, IMO.

Yeah but it doesn't last very long..maybe till the first time you hit GS. Now, doing the wyrm hunt quests, it's back to runnin through shit like it was nutin. I'm not even geared out, still rocking garbage I got from chests. But now chimeras, cyclops, and ogres are like nothing. They still one shot me, but they also die in 30 secs rather than 4 mins.

L3 BBI armor for mages is the Carrion gear (Carrion Mantle for chest, Claws for arms, Greaves for legs, Veil for head).

Ok guys is this normal?

I just finished the evil eye (the first one if there are more to come) on the new Island where you get the first shortcut back to the starting area.
right after that npc there was the reaper, i already saw him twice i think, but he always vanished shortly after a few seconds of fight.
But when i saw him this time, i shot like 5 arrows at him and did next to nothing damage, but then he did fall of the bidge or something? i first thought he vanished again, but i did get a ridicules amount of xp which let me and my pawn level from i think 78 to 83!

Is this a known glitch or something? And if so will i still be able to fight him or is he now gone forever and i can't fight him regulary in this playthrough? Feels like cheating.

Wish i could send you one of the extra 2 blackwings i found. Still haven't popped a single piece of hellfire. I'm almost done with my second set of sinner/betrayer gear.
I still need the assassin rings. Haven't seen any yet (i think for the explosive charge and gouge right? ..so lame. )

Maybe someone can clear this up for me: I have doubles of A LOT of stuff. Some of my shadow gear, Immortal gear, sinner, carion and grave... weapons like whoa ... I was under the impression that as long as i kept grinding along I would be moved along a loot list and get new stuff at a somewhat fair clip... so .. that's wrong.

By "moving down the list" I think it's just something like this:

Weapon 1 = [dagger, staff, shield, non magic bow]
Weapon 2 = [staff, sword, two-hander, ranger bow]
Weapon 3 = [non magic bow, dagger, staff, two-hander]

The list would just be brackets of randomization that you have to filter past. I don't believe that there's any guaranteed way to get what you want, because each of those brackets could end up randomizing the same shit again and again and it will remain as such until you've purified gear to "erase" that specific bracket. So basically, if you end up getting a bunch of items you don't want, there's nothing you can do about it except grind cursed items until you finally jackpot a specific bracket.

Also, I know it's been mentioned already, but it's worth repeating; you don't need to fight Daimon for level 3 armors. You can get two in the

Midnight Helix

area and you can also get four level 3 gears (five if a monster drops one) on your way to Daimon each run.

One is in the alcove that you have to jump up prior to the exit from the room that had the two chained Gorecyclops and whatever else junk spawns, one is in the sewers area on the upper split/fork in the middle and two are in the room that spawns random double dragonkin. You can also get a random level 3 armor from the chest behind a wall of a building to the left of the final bridge/path leading up to exit to Daimon's room.

Could someone on ps3 gift me a bloodred crystal? I give up trying to farm those little dragons for them, they keep getting interupted by my pawns so they can't do their blood suck thing

Also did anyone else find hellfire cloak ( daimon 2.0 boss drop, not a bbi cursed item), it's even better than the cursed cloak and looks way cooler in red

3236str on my fighter pawn now just missing the shield and he'll have all his resistances maxed.
50 percent resistance to every element and 1300+def is nice too

sounds like he fell to his death. no extra treatment for him. he will respawn, so no worries.

That one is pretty weird, especially for the reward, especially for where it takes you. All the other escorts are decent challenges, but that one, as the first official one you can get, is pretty effing weird. If it's just me..alright lol. But yeah at that point in the game most of the side quests are not meant to be simple fetch quests simply because of your level/gear.

The griffin or the bandit attacks are scripted for the wyrm hunt quests.

She needs to stand out a bit more. Try equipping her with those women exclusive robes and mixing and matching with similar coloured pieces. Right now (and if she carries along these lines) she just looks like any of the other strider/ranger pawns available.

I just got a message on psn from someone i don't know about my pawn, they don't know what gaf is, how on earth did they find my pawn (they are only lvl 32 ingame)

Nah, 3-star Blackwing Bow at the moment (magick stat @~1440).
But to be honest I'm more wanting of a quick Daimon 2.0 strategy right now,

I killed Daimon v2 using only ninefold bolt and nothing else.

The easiest way is to jump off the top

and climb in his mouth onto his eye ball and attack. Once he triggers the four crystals, jump down, kill the worms and attack the eye ball again

All i have is the 3fold/6fold that came from lvl2 but i wont be able to give you the ring since i already saved after purifying. I cant gve pawns the already purifyed MA rings.

After reading the hard section again I just realized why I thought pawns weren't dying as much - they're unaffected by the health/stamina handicaps. That's cool.

Got 2 level 3 armors and 1 level 3 weapon off 2nd Daimon. Farming him is fun now, my pawn is getting absolutely decked out. Found him the best shield in the game I THINK (Dread Aspis). His Divine Embrace cloak is lame, though .

It's probably the best part of the entire mode. You notice it immediately from the start, and how you attack/manage your spells becomes the central point of the combat. 99% of the time I play without consumables as well, so it's even more enjoyable for me.

I played the shit out of DD (level 150+) but haven't picked up DA yet. I plan on it tho, and was thinking I'd just start on over hard. 1) so it's more of a challenge and 2) because I remember the game getting really easy towards the end. You get so powerful later.
