I beat Daimon v2 last night on hard with an MK with no cannons and no periapts.
First form was getting torn up by perfect lvl 3 holy riposte blocks. I was blocking everything that wasn't a grab or that miasa spell.
Second form was a little harder but the idea remains the same, stay at his feet, perfect holy riposte. I break up the blocks with abyssal anguish enhanced melee.
I didn't have problems going through BBI with an MK (with no cannon once again, I hate it because it's boring). I had lots of fun, perfect holy riposte and perfect dark riposte does most of the work. Perfect dark riposte inflicts torpor on so many things it's quite funny, not even undead or garms are immune. Once torpor sets in, it's basically a win button....
I'll try meleeing him then that would be a new way to beat him. (what do you do when he vortexes then while in melee range , does the aoe spell stagger him, the name eludes me)
I find holy cannon incredibly boring as well (and BBI just makes using it laborious and akward)
I've beat him as every other class, MK with holy cannon (which I saw recommended before) was just the shittiest way by far. Double Sorc probably the most challenging because you need to work to get your spells off. Ranger the (laughably) easiest.
BBI minobosses+ trash as tank MK still fails though, simply because you don't have a taunt, I could see it work if you solo but running after mobs and hoping they'll try to hit you and not leap/fly/pounce/charge at your sorc instead is not my idea of fun.
Mk has tools to control the small enemies but who gives a damn about those anyhow they die in one hit, it's when theres 3 wargs or 2 dragons or 2 annihilators and some hellhounds that I end up having to pick up my pawns every other second because MK cannot tank. Perfect blocks are (too) easy you get so many frames to do it, but getting the mobs to want to hit you (while fighting with the camera indoors) defeats the point for me.
Fighter should have been the class with reflect tbh.
