Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen |OT| deep down darkness

Nice, Ally is now a 51 sorc :)

She will be a 30sumtin mage for a little bit longer! I'm just doing side quests now before accepting quests from Aldous so I figure I don't need a real crew. Truth is right now at level 43 I don't have much trouble with anything.

If she's equipped with Triple Tooth, I literally just got it and didn't get a chance to enhance it. If you get a chance, see how she does and let me know. I'm interested in how her ai works for others. Like I said, I took off charge moves and it made a big difference. She hits pretty hard.

I have a feeling I'll have like 100 hours and 100 levels under my belt before I get to Everfall/end game lol. I'm doing every side quest and the double exp on hard mode kinda makes it hard not to level. I even try to use my ferrystones properly so I don't end up going through places and killing trash/gaining exp.

I thought someone said that you were guaranteed to get a level 3 weapon drop the first time you beat Daimon? I didn't, and I only ended up with a level 3 cape. Feel like I got ripped :/

I gave her a helm, not sure if its any use to you.

Not guaranteed, I had a level 3 armor drop myself. From my own experience and what I have seen others saying it doesn't seem like level 3 weapons appear at all during your first time through BBI.

I had 1 from a chest on my second time through and 2 from a chest and 1 drop from Daimon on my third.

Updated my info for my pawn, lvl 40 warrior atm on the 360.

The questsystem is a mess, i accept new quests and i automaticly fail another questchain ive been working on.
Dont like that at all, feels like im just running around from one tower back to the city and then back to the tower and then to the city. Does does it get better further in the game?

Damn yo.. I'm gonna take that as a direct insult on the 100k gold eyepatch I gave her. =(

It's not necessarily the quest system, it's how dynamic the world is in terms of how the plot progresses and how the npcs progress with it. Some shit just becomes directly unavailable at certain times due to things happening. I'm not saying your complaint isn't valid, and it does suck you need a guide to essentially see every quest, but I do like that it has this weird sense of consequence to it. And, for the most part, it does warn you at major plot points when quests will be left behind.

It's not from Daimon himself, but from the chests in his room. From that chests, you always get a Cursed Armour Lv. 3, a Cursed Weapon Lv 3 and a Cursed Gear/Novelty Lv 3.

J/k, I like this shot!

Hahaha! I went with the 80's warrior goddess, less-is-more approach.

This game has one of the best character customization systems I've ever seen. It's going to be hard to end up with an arisen or pawn you're not happy with.

I'm actually not that happy with my main guy. I think I'm gonna have to use that item that lets you remake them within game. I usually make chars that are a bit older/wiser but when I heard of the love interest bit I thought that was a bit out of place (I had an old dwarf fuckin morrigan in dragon age). Now I made kind of a beefcake male model and I'm not too thrilled. What I don't like is that longer hairstyles seem to clip through armor and I usually run a ponytail on my chars. argh

Daimon has a small chance to drop any of lvl3 Cursed Items. Those chests do contain Armor/Weapon/Novelty but are not guaranteed, it's best to save before opening them in case it gives you Rift Crystals.

Chests give this:

[] Armor
[] Moonbeam []Novelty
[] Weapon

The level 3 weapon doesn't appear in that chest the first time you kill him, or is extremely rare. I reset around 35 times and it just switched between a level 2 weapon or level 2 armor.

I've just discovered you can skip enhancements, going from a 1 star to a 3 star, for example. Is there a drawback to doing this? Does the item end up less powerful? Or do you make the same item, saving gold and components? I checked the wiki but it didn't say.

It's not cumulative. You can go right to 3 star and save resources.

I feel like there is much in this game that you have to ask others about and no real hint is given in game. I'm thinking of re-rolling now I understand a few things better.

I find it way easier to make a male character that I'm satisfied with (square jaw, muscles, beady eyes etc). For females I have a much harder time trying to pick the right parts.

Well..just accidentally maxed out Valmiro's affinity by finishing his last quest. Oops. Hopefully I can woo a lady instead.

Aye, there's a hint of Souls there. I don't mind playing this game with a wiki at hand.

With range from the balcony for the sorcerers. For the dogs, there's like a lion statue or something at the end of the hallway in the beginning of the room, jump on that and get on its head and shoot the garms from there with range. The garms won't be able to reach you but they will circle around you and you'll have good visibility on them.

As for the gorecyclopes... if this is your first time through BBI don't bother, just run past them.

If you don't have a ranged attack either just run past the whole room altogether

Just saved prior to the battle with The Dragon commencing. Level 47. I'm currently levelling up a Mystic Knight.

It seems there should be a bit of prep done before fighting him, I've read what you're wearing gets dragon forged and he drops loot depending on what you have equipped. I currently have a full set of Chimeric and my weapon is the Almace. Is that okay?

Next, once he's dead, should I do post-game first and then go to BBI?

Lastly, hard mode, when can I try out hard mode? Once I've done all of the above?

Thanks a bunch.

Yes, yes and yes pretty much.

Whatever you want dragonforged you'll want to be wearing during the Grigori fight. Doesn't really matter as you can repeat the main quest in 30 mins to get the rest of your Arisen or pawn's stuff dragonforged (and a trophy or achievement) later.

I recommend re-exploring all the dungeons and then Everfall in post-game before heading to BBI.

Starting a game from hard mode will start you from scratch and you'll lose everything you've obtained, so make sure to either backup your save or be ready for that.

Ouch, I'll just stay on normal then until I've experienced all the content.

Thanks for the advice. Repeating the main quest? Is this done post-game, or do you mean by starting a new game?

I was under the impression Hard Mode just put you back at the start of the game as if it were NG+. Ah well, I'll just have to beat the game again sometime and test I guess.

Played the demo and after flying through the air, clinging to the back of the griffin, I finally gave in. Downloading the game now.

Killed Daimon 2.0. Game continues to taunt me. After boots of oblivion I get shadow boots instead of something else to upgrade on my equipment. And I got a longbow. But I'm an Assassin. Damnit. Oh yeah I got mage, magick archer, bowman, fighter and mystic knight rings, but no assassin. Argh. :(

Mystic Knight and Magick Archer rings seem to be the most common for me.

I've only seen ONE Assassin ring which upgrades dire gouge and showdown (perfect for me, thankfully).

If you want, I'll trade you the level 3 weapons I get from Daimon. I don't need them, I have doubles of everything.

Sorry I wasn't clear, that is done in a NG+

Thanks! How can it be done in 30 minutes? I guess in NG+ you can just go straight to the Dragon?

Just completed the main game, credits running now. I got love interest paired with the blonde dude I revived to get his shield hahaha.

No you can't just go straight to the Dragon sadly, but if you just do the main quests and skip everything else you'll get there fast. Here's a video that will show you how to do it within a half hour: http://youtu.be/iWsISB_8V88

Sorry, I'm starting with the original Dragon's Dogma. Can you help me with this?

I have three questions, please, because the game is in english and maybe I lost some important things...

FIRST
Is there a way of recovering "full health" after dying? I mean, I have my 4 guys team and I made the mission where I must escort one vendor from town to town. Was a looooong way, the guy was dumb and my crew died a lot of times... so, finally, I barely could recover them 1/3 or their health. So, at that point, some enemies or groups were REALLY hard. Am I missing something or it's always like that?

SECOND
Why the same thing happen to my main character? I mean, I can recover full health after a while. What am I missing?

THIRD
My main character it's a "MAGE" and my main companion it's a "STRIDER". Reading the first post... they only will evolve to level 10? And if I must change vocation... which ones may I choose for them?

This is the list if you don't remember:
Fighter: HP+37 Stam+15 Atk+4 Def+4 MA+2 MD+1
Warrior: HP+40 Stam+20 Atk+5 Def+3 MA+2 MD+1
Mystic Knight: HP+30 Stam+20 Atk+2 Def+3 MA+3 MD+3
Strider: HP+25 Stam+25 Atk+3 Def+3 MA+3 MD+2
Ranger: HP+21 Stam+30 Atk+4 Def+2 MA+3 MD+2
Assassin: HP+22 Stam+27 Atk+6 Def+2 MA+2 MD+1
Mage: HP+21 Stam+10 Atk+2 Def+1 MA+4 MD+4
Sorcerer: HP+16 Stam+15 Atk+2 Def+1 MA+5 MD+5
Magic Archer: HP+20 Stam+20 Atk+2 Def+3 MA+3 MD+4

Any other tip you can give me?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Be thankful you haven't been blessed with 42 thousand hellfire cloaks like me!

Does itmatter ewhat class you beat diamon v2 as in terms of your drops? I have gotten six cursed weapons level 3 and every single one was been either sorcerer staff or mage staff. Nothing else. I'm completely out of rc too so it's aggravating as it takes awhile to amass any and you're at the whim of the community to choose your pawn

Also, Glorious Ownage, it's a 145ish sorc with around 3,300 m.attk :)

Ouch, that's a lot. I have 1 hellfire cloak and two blasphemer's cloaks. I just need the 3 helms to finish the quest for the Savior Ring.

Luckily for me I completed the Oblivion set first. I also have a full set of Carrion. I only have one piece of Hellfire, though.

Added my pawn to the spreadsheet. She's currently a level 50 sorcerer.

PSN: Akuma_818
Pawn name: Isabel
Inclination: Scather/Challenger

If you are interested in having her in your party so I can get some rift crystals, drop me a line. I will use your pawn as well.

Also, I want to have her current outfit Dragon Forged, so if you have extras of any of the items she is wearing (or a better archistaff of any kind) Dragon Forged, I would appreciate it very much :)

Kill a Thunderwyrm, get lvl 3 armor, don't save, come back after being on the closet and look at an dead assassin because a cursed dragon spawned, kill the wyrm again and get nothing. :>

The weapons and armor you get are based on your class and your pawns class, basically a weapon has three different weapons it can be, a yellow, red, or blue class version. Once you figure out those three it won't become a different weapon of that color. You can test this by killing yourself and switching vocations. There is a nice YouTube video explaining this from manufactured opinion.

So does that mean I have to obtain the item while being a different class or when I get it the item purified I should be a different class?

Ahhhgh that's horrible. I've noticed the dire dragons have a VERY small chance of dropping level 3 cursed items. I got a level 3 armor from a dire drake once but I have never seen that happen again.

There are two chests in the fallen city that have given me level 3 armor on occasion, though, although that is fairly rare as well.

Hard mode DOES just put you at the start of the game as if it was NG+. You don't lose your items or your levels. However I'm not sure if it can be activated anytime in any playthrough or if it requires you to actually be already in NG+. You'll get instructions and warnings once you select Hard mode from the title screen, so you'll know.
