Anyone got some good tips for beating Daimon 2.0?

I must admit I've found the lower strata on replaying BBI are rough as hell, with my level 146+ pawns getting flattened annoyingly fast.

After many days of studying for a cert at work and gaming in between sessions - storing every piece of lvl 3 gear i could find and waiting till i built up a nice RC stash to do them all ... I have fucking completely lucked out on ANY new assassin rings.
I sware... godsbane... and decide i'll try my 5 lvl 3 weapons and 2 armor pieces and see if ANYTHING is new...
5 Darkening Storms and 2 Boots of shadow. I am as close as I have ever been to breaking a controller.

Who wants this shit?

p.s. If anyone ... absolutely anyone.. can please donate lvl3 gear to me so i can get my fucking rings ... i'll love you forever. PSN: silkysm00th - Pawn name Vimes ..

Edit:

Switch up playing with your group of pawns and playing completely solo. Release your hired thugs and throw your life partner in a river then get to killing. Be safe and you'll be making up for a lot of lost time as you won't be splitting/sharing at all. It makes a noticeable difference especially before you crack 100.
Dude. STAP.
Stop giving away your "unwanted" cursed items. The items you get from purification is predetermined from an invisible list that DOES NOT CHANGE when you give them away. The only way to get the things that you want is to accumulate more items and purify them so that you can move down the list and get past those items that you've been purifying over and over again.

In addition you're not actually giving away those items that you have purified, you're just adding one "token" to the receiving player so that he can move down his predetermined list.

Magic Bow with 4 demon periapts boost. Or just grab onto his "face" and beat the shit out of it. I used magick archer with ignition skill and he died pretty fast.

What do you need to know? Just ask away.

I am your guide. Ask, child.

Where can I buy ferry stones? And are port crystals reusable?

What's the best composition for a team? What's the best/most fun role to play? I'm a strider right now, I like to keep distance.

Is the only way to make RC through having your pawn play with other people? I want to buy the item that allows me to change the physical appearance of my pawn, but I have no clue how I'd get 5,000 RC.

How do you get armor off? Just blunt force or is there some special way?

My pawn is a warrior. Any tips on making her the best she can be? What are the best abilities for her to have? Can she even use the launch board ability? I gave it to her and she never invites me to be launched up.

Is there a better way to get from the East to the West other than going through the mine? And what the hell are the ogres in the mine weak to?

A lot of questions, don't feel pressured to answer them all, if any. Thanks.

Buy ferrystones at black cat or fournival, both in GS. Yes, you can drop and pick up port crystals infinitely.

There is no best class or setup, it's all subjective. They're all good and enjoyable. Pick your style. Typical rpg standards of tank, healer, 2 dps work fine.

Are you on ps3 or 360? Add people here and we'll use your pawn.

If you mean cyclops armor, the enemies react to your strats. If you climb on his head and he tries to hit you off, jumping off before he hits might make him hit his helmet off. I think you can brute force body armor off though.

War's benefit from classes like fighter, assassin, even ranger. I don't give my pawns moves like the launch, I don't trust the ai.

On foot, I believe the quickest way is def the quarry. Assumin you've cleared the quest for it, it remains empty and acts like a town with infinite stam inside. Just lightem on fire or take an all dude party.

Black Cat in south east Gran Soren. Fournival walking around Gran Soren in limited amounts. Yes port crystal are reusable.

Play around with it, bring a mage in the beginning for healing?

Monsters drop purple Rift crystals of varying amounts.

Brute force i think

Stock up on str augments

Fire i think, climb on them and beat em up

A typical team is 1 tank, 1 bow dude, 1 mage. However there is strictly speaking, no best team. The game can be beaten with no pawns. All the vocations are good, it really depends on your play style.

Is the only way to make RC through having your pawn play with other people? I want to buy the item that allows me to change the physical appearance of my pawn, but I have no clue how I'd get 5,000 RC.
That item only allows a single use. Wait until you've beat a certain end boss then you can purchase an unlimited use version.

How do you get armor off? Just blunt force or is there some special way?
Certain head armors can be gotten off easily in simple ways
climb on the cyclops' head, his hand will swipe at you removing his helmet.

My pawn is a warrior. Any tips on making her the best she can be? What are the best abilities for her to have? Can she even use the launch board ability? I gave it to her and she never invites me to be launched up.
The launching up skill is kind of useless, but that's just my opinion.

Is there a better way to get from the East to the West other than going through the mine? And what the hell are the ogres in the mine weak to?
No. And lightning.

On the PS3 version of Dark Arisen, if you highlight the disc on the PS3 XMB it'll play a short loop of music. Does anyone know what track that small sample belongs to? I really like it.

i have the CD. what you hear is the main theme, but i don't think you'll hear that particular excerpt in the game, ever. it's a great piece nevertheless. it works so well in context.

Doesn't it play during the Daimon fight? I thought it was odd that it doesn't even play during the main menu, though..

just angry. Trust me.. i've already purified every lvl3 gear i had/have. Instantly. It's the ring i want frodo ... the weapons (i have almost/all of them) i don't need so i'll give em out. The armor ... rrrr.. the armor. How can i get 6 coats and 8 boots and not move down this magical list???!!!

I just finished the Macabre statue mission this morning after putting it off forever when i remembered someone saying they thought loot tables might be tied to your mission completion. This is how desperate i am. I shall shortly be calling a psychic and trying flexology.

I thought I heard something like it in one of the woods for a few seconds until monsters appeared. It's hard to say for sure though, I'm only certain I heard a woman singing, and it not being the same as the song in the main menu.

Was in a Gamestop today and overheard a customer ask an associate which game was better, Dragon's Dogma or Skyrim?

*cringe*

The associate went on to say how Skyrim is better because it gets all the recognition in gaming magazines and since it's more popular, that's the better game. He didn't have anything at all to say about Dragon's Dogma, as if he's never even played the game.

No doubt Skyrim is more popular, but I felt bad for the customer...I think he really wanted to play Dragon's Dogma. I felt like stepping in and telling him how awesome DD is and to wait for the GOTY edition of Skyrim, but it wasn't my place.

On another note, thank you to whoever gave my pawn a bunch of dragonforged equipment. It's much appreciated!

After 3 weeks of waiting and FINALLY getting this game on Play-Asia (as I live in Korea and prefer US region games), the beginning of this game already has me hooked.

However, does anyone have a beginner's primer as to how I can start going about the game? I did see some tips throughout the thread, but it's already 140+ pages. For example, I know vocations and their inclinations play a big role; I had no idea about this, and when I created my pawn, I created a mage, answering questions in a way to make the Challenger inclination the highest; upon reflection this might not be so great for healing. I'm not sure if I botched that up.

Any other little important tidbits of information or strategy that could easily be missed would be super helpful. Thanks!

You can buy a potion that will change your primary inclination from an NPC near the pawn stone at the Encampment. I believe Guardian is your best bet if you want a Mage healer.

The DD wiki is a godsend for info about the game: http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon%27s_Dogma_Wiki

I also had the strat guide, which was what I used 99% of the time. This is one of the few RPG's I've ever needed it for, and it was insanely helpful.

You're going to want your magick attack boosted. If possible, use these augments to boost it: Acuity (Sorcerer), Bloodlust (Assassin) and Attunement (Mage). Autonomy helps also. Make sure to bring a few mage/sorc pawns with Holy Affinity. Go in there at night and have your pawn cast Holy on you. Then let the arrows fly! Hope this helps.

That's too bad, because those are the places where I can't help but jump in. I consider it one long time gamer's obligation to another when someone is selling someone a line of crap, particularly when it's over something financially insignificant as the sale of a video game. I have, on occasion, gotten a random death stare if it's about something where a commission might be involved, but I'll do it if it's something I know enough about and pretty obvious someone is being railroaded into buying something they really don't want. Just like a buyer's guardian angel...

Hmm I've already got acuity and attunement. Not sure bloodlust will make that much of a difference??

Trust me I was about to. Just not one to barge in on others conversations, especially strangers. It didn't really occur to me that I should have jumped in until well after I left the store.

Yes I would say it's integral. Bloodlust will boost your physical Strength and Magick Attack by 70%, and also increases Defense and Magick Defense by 30%...but only at nighttime.

If you're still struggling with the other augments I would definitely give Bloodlust a try.

Wiki says bloodlust was nerfed in dark arisen..

Tell you the truth it doesn't matter what class you are to kill the ur-dragon, the drops are the same no matter what class, so unless you're hellbent on beating him as an MA you can just do what I did -- go MK and spam Blessed Trance + Great Cannon until he drops. Use Blessed Riposte to block his Holy attacks. It's cake.

For the mission where you go to talk to the Duke, the game is warning me that all other missions will be cancelled. Does this mean all missions? Like even the "Kill ___ of ____" missions? Or just escort-type missions?

It's talking about stage specific quests gotten from npcs out in the world. Notice board quests or quests that go beyond that stage will not be cancelled. If you haven't done all 4 wyrm hunt quests, you won't be able to do those either.

Only significant side quests and other Main quests are at risk of being canceled.

Kill this enemy X amount of times bullshit quests are fine.

Some escort quests can be canceled as well I believe. It's best to do the escort quests.

You know you HAVE to keep or sell the items you've purified to move down the list right? I don't think mission completion is tied to loot tables, I have plenty of missions uncompleted and Ive gotten all the stuff that I needed.

Original Bloodlust was 70% Strength/Magic increase.

However, original Autonomy (the GOAT of Augments in vanilla) was 70% Strength/Magic AND Defense.
Makes me kinda wish I got all the way through the original DD before upgrading, just for the curbstomping. Ah well, doing original stuff with BBI gear probably has the same effect anyway.

They are however useful if you want very specific augments (namely suasion) as they'll never change. Plus you don't have to feel bad about not gifting anything, you can just go ahead and get them thrown somewhere to die/be consumed by brine.

Yah i know. The gear is one thing that I have not given out at all. I sent one good friend of mine a treasure trove of vanilla DD weapons and then like 4 lv 3 weapons because I already finished the weapons to my heart's content.

The armor I am still purifying and the Gear pieces... oh those filthy gear pieces... yes. I purify every single one of them. I have more jewelry than i would ever know what to do with but they just keep bouncing all around the vocation tables and never land on the assassin spot. I did manage (sometime last week) To get a fantastic assassin ring for the fuckin daggers... Enhanced response and Gale harness are both lvl3'ed out now and it's pretty baller.

But i've become a complete devotee and convert to Powder Blast and Gouge has been my bread and butter the entire 500+ hours of gametime I've played DD. I know there is a ring out there with (hopefully) both of those lvl 3 skills on it (band) ... and. I. Fucking. Want. It.

just keep chipping away i suppose. But it's incredible how many dupes i have. I really really wish you could like.."sacrifice" your BBI gear after purifying for Rift Crystals or something. I have more gold than the combined GDP of all of Gransys but i hover steadily at around 200k RC depending on how much i'm purifying at the time. It's just maddening to only really need maybe 8 more pieces of armor/gear and just nothing at all seems to bring them out of the woodwork.

I know people can't send me the purified items. I was asking earlier for lvl3 gear pre-purification so i could speed my way down through the loot tiers. Just starting to get a lil burnt out here and I LOVE this game... so i'd like to avoid that.

There should be about 6 different gaffers who I hooked up with gear today. Check your pawns :)

Ill be sending more gear out tonight. Anyone know where I can find griffons post game?

Ogres weak to fire? Huh, it doesn't seem like it.

In fact I have the impression that they are weak to thunder, since my mages whipping that fancy Thunderwhip spells sap Ogres' HP rather fast.

They do get increased damage to blows to the head though. And maybe those whip spells just tend to hit its head easily.

Jump on their back (between their shoulder blades) and you will see them pause, them suddenly jump backwards and a do a backflop on the ground. Provided you jump off their back once they do the pause, you can wait for them to fall on the ground and then you (or your pawns) can go to town on their head while they're lying there defenceless.

But I do find that setting them on fire with Comestion seems to help a bit.
