Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen |OT| deep down darkness

The armor I am still purifying and the Gear pieces... oh those filthy gear pieces... yes. I purify every single one of them. I have more jewelry than i would ever know what to do with but they just keep bouncing all around the vocation tables and never land on the assassin spot. I did manage (sometime last week) To get a fantastic assassin ring for the fuckin daggers... Enhanced response and Gale harness are both lvl3'ed out now and it's pretty baller.

This I really agree with, gear pieces at lvl 3 kind of get shafted because you get some much of those shit pieces that aren't useful at all. How many rings of dessication do I really need? In addition Assassins/MA/MK skill rings are super hard to get because they get mixed in with the other basic/advanced classes rings.

edit: Ok, I've just reacted lvl 52 on my hard with main pawn only. No upgraded gear, gonna try to tackle BBI. Let's see how far I can get.

Original Bloodlust was 70% Strength/Magic increase.

However, original Autonomy (the GOAT of Augments in vanilla) was 70% Strength/Magic AND Defense.

Jesus H Christ! I can see why they nerfed it. What would be the point of hiring pawns? (aside from being item mules)

Are you using consumables? If not, you should. If so, I would guess you need better weapons.

"Post-game a Griffin may be found during the daytime among the broken sarcophagi west of Hillfigure Knoll. There are snow harpies in the same area whose corpses can be grabbed and held to entice the Griffin to alight and be challenged."

I've tried it but so far no luck guess I'll keep at it.
Also how do you like your new equipment? Lol

If some friendly gaffers wouldn't mind I need 4 items that I simply can't seem to farm

Large fish eye stone
Siren tailfin
Thunderwyvern horn
Frostwyrm scales

If some one could just send me 1 or a few if you have spares I would appreciate it
Psn is hycran as always

I think I have most of that...at least half and quite possibly all of it. I just got home from the airport. I'll check in the morning for ya.

if only there's a merchant dude for me to get my items, lol.

I got him to the last bar at 50% and i missed my jump trying to grab his head to stun him >_>

I'll play on the weekend, takes like forever to get his health down, maybe I'll just try different pawns, so far they are pretty much just there to get killed so I could raise them, but I don't have enough consumables to solo it (got it to 2 bars solo).

I'm just using my dragon's dogma sword, it does decent damage as long as i could get on his head.

Immolate. If you have the ring it becomes sunburn.

You just jumped onto his face with immolate turned on as MA???

Yeah. First, I attacked him with magick bow + demon periapts buff just like GAF suggested.
Then jumped on his belly when effect stopped.
Sometimes he performed similar fire attack that throws you off but then grab onto him again. And I didn't have sunburn. Is it much better than original skill?

meh just beat daimon, my pawns and I all ran away from the vortex this time and killed him when it ran out of breath, lamest victory ever -_-

dropped me a lv3 armor, hopefully this will be my first upgrade in BBI!

none of the shield counters i had on were effective on MK since they were all close range, terrible.

It's pretty awesome, does immolation reduce stamina? cuz the level 3 version doesn't.

The holy counter lv 3 (blessed riposte) can work decently on daimon v1 if you're plonking away at his feet. On v2 it doesn't do much damage but I like to perfect block his levin spells and his claw attacks.
Not exactly the easiest vocation to beat daimon with, but scoring those perfect blocks giving tonnes of i-frames is so satisfying.

Thanks a bunch. I actually know where to farm the mats but just having extreme bad luck...

also can anyone gift me rubicite??

psn frankencowx

pawn neith

I can do it in a bit. Rubicite are easy t9 find in bbi though so if you're just starting dont get too excited

Why not just sit back and plunk him with holy great cannon? That's what I did.

Step 1: hire warrior pawn with taunt
Step 2: let the warrior taunt
Step 3: activate the bass cannon
Step 4: the legend never dies

Its even better with Ascalon or cursed light. I just realized that cursed light is slightly better when gold forged, wish I had known sooner.

Edit: oops meant to quote...

Just sent 'large fish eye stone'. I have thunder horn, but someone already sent that. I either used the others or just haven't found them in my inventory. Speaking of...why the fuck can't I sort by name? Stupid.

Thanks, anything you need? I've been handing out a lot of gear lately, I would encourage gear hand outs as I know we all have tons of shit lying around.

Much, much thanks for the gear. It's exactly what I needed for my pawn who is going tank now. Not having to worry about dragon forgin shit for her helps a ton.

Also, fuck the Nameless Terror quest. How you'd ever do this without a guide..who knows lol..

I fell asleep trying to do that. It was.....unsatisfying. Great cannon is a great skill, but it's too damn boring.

If anyone's on psn with a level 30ish-40ish healing mage pawn, let me know or just add me.

The cannon is fun when you try and see how low you can get the framerate to go. I had three ranger pawns against the Ur-Dragon, I laid down three cannons while I was waiting for Urry to fly down, and as soon as his landing cutscene triggered all three rangers immediately let loose a Spiral Arrow with the cannons immediately in front of them. (I also helped a bit with a Full Moon Slash.) The. Game. Broke.

But as for actually killing a boss with it... it's safe and boring.

If anyone wants any of my gear send a pm or let me know itt. I jist realised ive been giving gear to people who simply arent playing lol.

Anyways beat daimon 2.0, not sure what the fuck is going on in the story but yeah, story is not this games strong point. Actually got super lucky and picked up framae blades for my pawn, I prettt much could not be happier about her. Fully gold dragon forged, amazing gear and skills. A few more days and quest clean ups and I think I'll have to put it down for a bit.

Once upon a time a cyclops dropped two eyes when I killed it.

I hit a bit of a low point a week or so ago, and I lost enthusiasm for the game. I think it's because at the time I was doing side quests and not finding any new gear, so it got a bit boring. I was sticking with one class at the time, too. That soon changed when I said fuck these side quests, and gave up my Wyrm Hunt license and did some Duke stuff. Despite what the guy said, I didn't lose any quests, so I was being driven to boredom by trying to do everything for nothing. Thanks for lying to me, game.

I can't believe I didn't know about the Black Cat and that female merchant until I read about forgeries and went looking round that end of town. Speaking of merchants, I messed up a little bit. I missed the gold idol, although I don't know why; I took ages to find her in hide and seek, but after that I gave her gifts until I heard the chime, then did everything else perfectly. Got the gold egg. So I missed that. Then I forgot to forge the silver idol (had just found out about the Black Cat at this point, so I wasn't in a routine), so I silver and bronze'd the merchants and I just have a bronze forgery.

The lightning MK shield's enchantment doesn't serve an actual purpose, does it? You can't strike with the shield, can you? I might as well switch back to MA anyway, seeing as I never use the damn thing.

1) She always hides in the same place. You cannot touch her even once to get the idol. You don't need to give gifts.
2) Perfect block for spectacular results.

So, I finally beat Daimon 2.0 and the gear sucked for my Assassin (I got a lvl 3 Ranger only bow - completely useless to me).

I've plat'ed the game and there really is nothing left for me to do EXCEPT try the one mode that I think could be fun - Speedrun mode.

Problem is is that I cannot find anything about it online (as to changes within the game etc).

Has anyone here tried/beat it? What all does it entail?

Also - does it overwrite my save? (I don't want to loose my lvl 144 Assassin at this point).

It runs at normal difficulty, all your gear/levels are retained. But nothing is saved when you beat it. Beating it under roughly 1h 45min unlocks Selene and Barnaby's clothes. You can put down all 10 portstones and use the eternal ferrystone as much as possible to cut time. The longest section is the hydra head escort mission, but you can kick the cow to make it move faster.

Thanks man - someone over at SDA managed to beat it in 16 mins (16:05). Crazy time I tell ya.

So true about magic cannon spam being boring..I switched to MK to do the metal golem quest in the witchwood. Got him down fine but another regular golem woke up at the end and I didn't want to risk dying so I just jumped on a rock lip and spammed cannon. So dumb. =/

I'm def enjoying magic archer a bit more than MK, but I'm waiting till I've unlocked everything to make the call.

LOLWTF. That is nuts. I took just over 1 hr.

I'll link the YouTube vid later today - the vid itself is 41 mins roughly but there is only 16:05 mins of actual gameplay start to finish.

LOLWTF indeed man. I've never seen anything quite like this on a game this big...

EDIT: here is the link if anyone is interested in seeing this:

Ferrio, I hope you got a decent amount of rift crystals. I released Bellaire and rehired as the updated strider.

Man, up at hillfigure gettin the bond, griffin attacks. Easy. Then head to abbey, nother griffin attacks, this one is crazy. Stocked up on some griffin mats at least.

edit: So just to add here, cleaning up the quests for the hero troph as they become available, basically done everything pre-endgame outside of story stuff.. the world's flaws become much more apparent. Lack of enemy variety, ridiculously obscure and hidden quest requirements, lack of any effect on the main story (in the duke's lady's room, get locked up, dude totally don't care the next day).. I'm actually glad I'm getting all of this shit out of the way now so I can just focus on getting down the story and endgame.

The fuck with
Death
and the final boss removing your pawns from your party.
Can it be avoided? seeing as how my pawns are stupid enough to not avoid that attack. Its incredibly annoying.

it's the capcom way of saying: don't turn this into a pretty girl game.
There's doing that, then there's making all (or almost all) armor fit women perfectly even if it's kind of improbable, should've been like Dark Souls where I could put on that big beefy gear and you couldn't tell whether a man or a woman was inside (until they slowly walked unarmed at least.) Now that armor set looks ridiculous with that helmet on, it's better to go with everything BUT that and wear a band or something instead.

Actually, I guess the fact it'll look decent doing that means there's advantages to this way too, but the former makes more sense, especially when we're talking about premade armor found in a dungeon.

Got tired of farming ingredients and item drops, so I finished the game for the first time.

I'll be starting a new game in the future on a different gamertag.

Yeah, that's what pushed me to beat it a second time and put it down for good (or at least a long while), should've skipped the speedrun so the end game could've gone like I wanted it to.
