Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen |OT| deep down darkness

Sounds like, by the way you explained your current situation, it would save you a lot of time and frustration by just going to NG+ to get to the point where you have access to Fournival. (and by reclearing BBI you'll gain some levels and gear you probably need)

Having those consumables will save you tons and tons of time if you plan to farm BBI.

I was thinking... could I just switch to hard mode and then revert back to normal to make a new NG? Im already on my 2nd NG+ playthough.

Can anyone tell me where to find the idol for the armorer in the capital?

The lack of quest markers can be frustrating at times...

Meh, sometimes the quest markers are too lenient with the RIGHT HERE marker that makes quests trivial. This one doesn't have them because there's multiple idols around the world. The best one would have been from Fournival's daughter's escort quest. The second best is from a notice board quest. You can find the third best at hillfigure knoll or Selene's, and you can find the worst by the abbey.

Shit, are you serious? Agh, I lost the quest with Fournival's daughter because she was walking so slowly and i tried to pick her up and was immediately arrested. I didn't get a chance to do the quest again. Ffffffuuuuuuuuu---

Those stone golems are a fucking pain to take down, takes forever. Even the level 200 pawn I'm using did nothing against it.

Yep, the game is like that. Very specific parameters and requirements with real consequences. Very cool, but also very frustrating for a first playthrough.

Last night I farmed the final area before reaching the end-boss and got 7 Bitterblack Weapon lv 2 & 1 Bitterblack Weapon lv 3 and NOT ONE of them was a Magik Bow :( I did as you suggested and watched the video and all I keep getting are Sapfire Daggers? From my lv 3 Weapon I got a Dominion Claw for my Magik Archer, when I change to Yellow I would have gotten a Long Bow. I have a pretty nice assortment of lv 2 Bitterblack Weapons ( I did change to both Red as well, no sense in getting doubles ) but no weapon for my Magik Archer... this is truly frustrating :(

Sometimes the game just screws with you and doesn't give what you want; I had to purify close to 50 lvl3 weapons to get the Revenant Wail Longbow.

Does anyone have a bloodred crystal they can send me? I had a bunch but I think I used them to upgrade a weapon and I neglected to keep a spare.

Got my pawn the level 3 daggers and bow so now she is stylin to be sure. Now I'm conflicted though. Every since I had her start showing some skin a lot of people have been hiring her. But now I'm getting the bbi Armor sets which are way better than trophy Armor and I don't want to gimp her but I don't want to get 0 RC going forward...

Also which is better shadow or oblivion

Not sure what is going on here, but I was answering Onion_Relish's question about which armor is better, the Oblivion set or the Shadow set.

I don't understand how you can say that these sets are bad stat wise, since they are the best for their vocations. If you don't like them aesthetically, that is a different subject.

I was holding off to see if Capcom would at E3 surprise everyone that this would be released on PC by some sort of Christmas Miracle, but the game is $10 off at Futureshop.ca for $30 in store, so lets get it I say. I'll bring out my level 100+ assassin from the dead and see what can be done. Everyone's screenshots on this thread are amazing! Keep at it.

God's had his chance.
What's the point then?

To dominate shit and fight stronger things to kill.

Going from getting killed in 1 hit from some chimera or Drake to running circles around them while cutting away multiple life bars with single swings is something you can't find done this well in any other game.

Also loot.

Really true. I didn't get around to doing Lost and Found immediately, and when I moved forward in the main quest line it was failed. On it's own that wouldn't bother me, but doing that also happens to lock out anything to do with Selene, including getting the portcrystal behind the golem there.

What's the point then?

You get access to some extra bonuses (character redesigns, port crystals), and an instant teleport to the Ur-dragon. Plus the sky returns to normal!

Also apparently there are some new quests that give large gold rewards but I cannot see where on the wiki.

I suppose the point would be for people to get a chance to clean up quests they hadn't found or done, but much quicker because of carrying over your levels and gear. Though, there isn't much reason to other than enjoying the world because the rewards/gear will never be worth much once you've experienced endgame. The trophs I guess.

Some of them bring out the torches when DD is compared to the Elder Scrolls games. Just ignore them, it's a silly misunderstanding, enjoy your stay here! =)

edit: The character customization never ceases to amaze me. Started another new game, went for a bride of dracula look.

Mercedes is cool, I like her. Definitely getting the Casca vibe from her. I hope (Berserk spoiler)
she doesn't end with same fate if you know what I mean.

Anyways, at what level can I choose an specialization? I'm 14 at the moment.

I'm in the post-game and doing the Following Orders noticeboard quest, which requires you to find 5 "Priceless Artifacts". They're supposed to be found in the Watergod's Altar, but I've completely cleared it out twice now without finding a single one. Can anyone help me out here?

Sigh I missed out on so many things in this game simply because I chose to do some quests before others, causing them to automatically fail. It's such bullshit. But I still love this game... it's so fun to play. Just really hope the follow-up is a more thought-out experience.

Apparently it's only found by mining in the Watergod's Alter. I think you have to wait 3-4 in-game days before mining again.
If you get one, you might be able to get it dublicated?

The auto failures from advancing the story are fine I think, they do give ample warning and it even makes sense from the story progression. But some quests are very obscure, like Quina at the abbey or Madeleine in her shop. You can totally overlook some if you don't literally visit every npc location in the game after every story quest..or use a guide. Some of the quests are very intuitive, and some make you scratch your head. If you never go back to Cassardis, you miss a ton.

If you mean change vocations, when you get to Gran Soren. And you can definitely play a role in Mercedes' outcome in the story, but no it definitely isn't taken and raped by apocalypse god Griffith.

Anyone know if BBI features some sort of difficulty scaling? Its weird because although I can kill things faster the damage output of a lot of the enemies seems to be keeping pace with me.

Yeah the wiki says by mining, the official strategy guide says in chests. Neither is true in my experience, I've been through twice now (with a 7 day break in between) and looted every chest and mined every vein to no avail. I guess I just keep trying (or give up on that quest).

It's mined. Have you gotten the godsbane yet?
In the watergod altar, go up to the large room with columns where you fought the cyclops. At the left side of the room is a small exit. The priceless artifact is in the vein that's inside that tiny rock corridor. Save before you mine it, godsbane and retry if you don't get it.

It is too damn fun throwing the random pawns I come across in Everfall down the pit.

On a side note I hope I find a better two-handed weapon than Dragon's Repast soon because man this thing looks dumb.

I got my priceless artifact in the room with the saurians by the lever key. It is definitely mined.
Thanks guys, I'll godsbane it now that I know it's definitely mined :)

If anyone can spare a set of Heaven's Keys, please gift them to my alt. account:

PSN: monimooni
Pawn: Mary

I appreciate anyone's help - I want to get the trophy for killing the Ur-Dragon last, that is why I don't just get them myself. I'm OCD like that :-(

I personally didn't experience anything like this is my several BBI runs.

The deeper you go in BBI, the more difficult/powerful the mobs become. Maybe that's what you're experiencing?

I don't know if that's what you're talking about, but I'm almost 100% sure there is no scaling at all.

It's really odd, I've been farming the lower strata for the last few days and I really get the feeling that the higher level your pawns are enemy behaviour seems to change. It seemed to kick in around level 170...

For example in the room with the 2 condemned gore cyclops, the corrupt pawns seem to prioritize using high-tier tornado magic all the time now. 3 of them landing simultaneously is no joke!

Obviously using appropriate tactics is very important in the lower stratum, and maybe I wasn't properly compensating depending on whether I was playing Assassin or Magic archer, but I had a few stretches were I was getting KO'd far too often for my liking.

I guess I'd hoped that the final stretch leading to Daimon would get more manageable, but those last few rooms (Sparyard's double dragon combo in particular) is still pretty painful at times.

I think I have one will send your way.

Thanks so much I really appreciate it. I now throw myself at the feet of gafs mercy one last time.

I killed death and got both a bone lantern and scythe shard. I godsbaned myself to see if I could go for a level 3 drop but by doing so both of my Mats plus the drop I did get disappeared. I am willing to compensate the copying costs through gifts, but if someone could send the shard and Lantern I would be utterly grateful.

This must have been the most unsettling ending ever.

After getting beat up left and right, wandering the lands, pursuing some random shit, overcoming huge dragons, falling 1000 yards into darkness, batteling a demi god and finally heroically sacrificing myself to free mankind of its enforced bond, MY FUCKING PUSSY SORCERER PAWN copies my adonis-like look, gets my riches, my home, the fame and fucks my girlfriend.

WHAT IN THE HEAVENS. Life is truly a bitch.

Finally got Dragon Tempest!!! Was able to make it Gold Forge... this thing kicks ass! I can just imagine how destructive the Bitterblack Weapon lv 3.

I need the Magic Archer Ring to acquire 9-Shot Bolt... is there any specific way to get that?

I killed the Dark Bishop last night, what a cheap guy. So many one shot kill spells. I think I used four Wakestones. Oh well, two new dragon forged items now :)
