Sooo...When the photo mode is finally released... no one is going to be racing. Everyone will be too busy drooling at the scenery/visuals. I'll be one of them!
Looks pretty good but terribly boring for nextgen. Is this really what devs are planning going forward? Scrapping all creativity and just pushing graphics without enhancing the gameplay and scope of the genre? The future is bleak.
Yes. YES. YEEEESSnow Storm

I really like the puddles but I can't figure out what's being done here so well. Can someone better acquainted with the technology explain why it looks so good? Is it the pattern of water or is it the reflection?

Reminds me of the time I had to drive from Buffalo to Cleveland in similar circumstances except I could not see the road at all.Snow Storm

Does the ps4 have pic viewer/slideshow application?Sooo...When the photo mode is finally released... no one is going to be racing. Everyone will be too busy drooling at the scenery/visuals. I'll be one of them!
Light blizzard. We need severe snowstorm. Let's make this racer one of the most tense ever.

Not much of a race thenI'd love a race where you legitimately need to move at like 25 mph during crazy flurries that fade in and out.
WTF do you expect from a somewhat realistic racer? This isn't motorstorm, burnout, or captain crazys car crash bonanza. There needs to be some semblance of rules and reality in some racing games. Theres room for silly, over the top racers as well. I like sim, arcady, and just plain silly racers.

Most realistic wet pavement ever. The puddles look incredibly naturally created.

There needs to be more variety than just mindlessly pelting away on a fake empty circular track with some pretty vistas.
It makes sense in an F1 game - that's a sport. But DC is an arcade racer that had zero constraints during its inception. Wish devs didn't blindly chase after the elusive PGR4. It worked then. It won't cut it now.
Was Guerrilla made simply to follow in the footsteps of Bungie? This is so odd. First they try to make a Halo killer. Now it looks like they're trying to ape Destiny.
ZOMG! More footage including weather in Norway!!!

SNOW. BABY. SNOW!

Risc/reward, man. It's why I love sims as much as I do arcade-style racers. Push it just a little further, and you're in the lead. Misread it and just barely overdo it? You're riding the rails in last place.
Really? How much enhancing do you need in a racing game?
For me, I like the realism of the world they've created, because I primarily like sims. Others may only like arcade racers, but hate those that rely on silly, immersion-breaking gimmicks. For us, this game is great.
So, if the game is so devoid of ideas, then why don't you tell us what you would like to see, beyond the completely amazing weather simulation.
Hint: I don't actually expect you to have an answer. You really just seem like another cry baby that likes to talk about how FH2 looks great (BTW, what's that game doing that's so innovative?) just moments after pulling a one-hitter quitter in a thread about GG's new IP.
For a start; course creator and smart / fast AI would enhance any racing game, but Evos have failed on both fronts, Driveclub is the same old with more pretty. No vision, no future.

Don't help him out, let him continue down the patch and he will surely vanish (mods willing).
I guess what I'm trying to ask is - What does this game add to the genre other than new locations and nextgen graphics? If the answer is "an arcade racer for the PS4", I think that's a valid response, but it doesn't address my concerns of devs not advancing the genre.

So people don't want PGR anymore? That's new to me.

Every single Driveclub topic now it never fails.

There is depth, its not just a flat texture and the tire streak has proper water spray/splash and not just a smokish effect. That's why it looks so good, i would post example of what i mean but i don't wanna derail the thread with comparison to another racer.I really like the puddles but I can't figure out what's being done here so well. Right now I'm looking at a game I've played several times on several consoles.
I play lots of fps games. When a new CoD comes out on new nextgen consoles, it gets lots of hate for recycling the same old mechanics. I feel the same way about racers.
To be honest, people didn't want PGR back then. The reason it's not being made now is because it wasn't selling back then. I think nostalgia is the driving force here, not statistics.

Looking good for a corridor racer.
My grandparents think FIFA is a real football match. God knows what they'll make of this. The Norway footage looks *almost* like real life, you can still see its a game mainly because of the hud and really dangerous driving, but if you had that on your TV and someone just looked at it, they might think its a real race or a movie.
That's how I've won most races in racing games across the spectrum for years. Don't make them take that away from me now!every video I see is just someone plowing through the ass of a bunch of cars at each corner and getting away with it

That would close the M25 for a week.

Ok, let's play this game. What about all the dynamic online social features? The whole idea of being in a club and all that stuff (see here). Plus, who are you to say that people don't want another PGR game? I sure as hell do, and it seems like a bunch of others here share that same sentiment.
It's so strange how every DC thread just devolves into this.
