I have had the game running at the menu for three hours now without connecting. I'll start playing again when it's more stable (sorry Eau Rouge club members!). I want to race those club cars.

Guys did anyone try to restore their licenses recently?
When I try to restore my licences on my PS4 I get error message NP-34993-8.
And it started with the Driveclub preorder packs fiasco .
I guess its linked as its trying to restore those,hence failing.

Got the Playstation message too (France) which adds 3 cars to the roster (they are independant from the standard versions and can't be modified).

I was connected for about 2 hours this morning. Though as of 5 minutes ago I was disconnected.
It also adds a pre-order bonus for reputatuion points. That would have been quite handy if I didn't finish the game already.
Didn't see it on PS4, saw it on my Vita lol.

I really love the the game, the gameplay, handling etc... But please let me synchronise this.

Only one star left to 225 and it's the Venom Hot Lap. I'm ging crazy over it.
Didn't look for championships or drifts but my time trial runs with the Atom didn't show up on the leaderboards even though I was connected the whole time. There is still way too much crap going on with the servers.

The leaderboards being up and down is the most frustrating thing for me personally. Sometimes the friend leaderboard works immediately, sometimes takes 10 seconds to load, sometimes can be fixed by entering the main leaderboard by clicking on it, but most times it's unavailable. The inconsistentcy of it is irritating.
I can honestly say THIS is my only gripe! #brothers
Alright. The physics of driving confuses me and it's especially interested me since I felt like my car almost lost its grip a whole ago whole it was going 80+ on a 60mph bend on the freeway. Actually had to shift over a lane to handle. It was at like 2am so whatever though. But! Questions time! Please be as educational as possible?

No it's simply that most of the population for this game is in Europe and therefore peak time is during the day in NA, and by the NA evening most Europeans are asleep.

The load times in this game are not kind to smokers. One hurried draw between restarts is all I can manage.

You just press X when you are in the message and it automatically fills in a code for you. It adds the 3 cars to your downloads and a 100 time use fame multiplier.
I should start persuading my smoking friends IRL to try the game if they want to quit.

Ultimately, drifting does not have a function purpose on tarmac. The fast path through a corner is a straight line, and the goal is to get power to the road as soon as possible so you leave the turn as fast as possible. Drifting through a turn does none of that. Note that this does not apply to dirt/offroad driving. However, inducing a small amount of oversteer will prevent you from running too wide on a turn (understeer) and this can benefit in helping you hit the apex of a turn.
The advantage of manual shifting is having control over what gear you are in instead of relying on the computer to determine for you. In a racing game like this, I don't think it really makes a different, but in high level RL racing obviously the driver is going to be better than a computer.
To draft, you need to put the car in the draft zone of a car in front of you. The car in front will divert air resistance away and will create a small zone behind it will less resistance. This is one of the main strategy's in NASCAR.

I've had this problem too only with the multiround championships; they just won't register, while single races, time trials, and drifts will.
I have to say, I fucking love the handling model in this game, forces you to think about corners, but enough forgiveness that you can still have fun throwing the car around a bit and playing the brake/throttle. I actually went back to the full cockpit view from the dash view, can't resist looking at the car interiors, and it's fun seeing the wheel moving around going through crazy turns. Only problem is it can be hard to see what speed I'm at on the speedometer on certain cars and there is no display elsewhere as far as I can tell.
If they are thinking of compensating us for the server issues I seriously hope this was not it.
Still getting the "Failed to download" error for the 3 car packs (tried 5min ago). And I never received a fame multiplier DLC/pre-order item...weird.
It took me 3 days to create a club. Now it is day 2 in trying to get my 2nd PSN account to join it to make it "active". Searching for clubs disconnected me everytime yesterday so I tried to send a friend invite. Accepting that invite from the dash makes the game disconnect from the server. Game is sitting in main menu for ~6h now. Not connected once. Good times.

Yep the multiplayer does not show up in the library. The cars are in it though together with the previous pre order downloads, so now I have 7 Driveclub ad-ons with the PS+ car.

Yeah, mine does that too.
It was a half-assed "fix" to just send us a voucher code for another instance of the pre-order cars. Now the 3 old items are still in the library and Restore Licenses gives an error.
