Woah, didn't even notice the lack of weather effects in the tour. I'm going through the tour first and getting all of the stars before starting the DLC events.

I love driving that prototype car on the Norwegian snowy tour. Such a beauty.

Do you guys think they'll adjust the AI though? So that they don't bump into you with full force when they are behind you?

Correct, they start at 60, and they're not too bad, just time trials on set track/car combinations, but you have to have the requisite fame/xp to be able to attempt them

You can already start breaking the records at any point (if you have a list of the times/tracks/cars). But you need to be 60 for them to be considered (and enough fame).
Thanks.
Hit 53 tonight, so still a fair way to go yet!

Looking forward to trying them out.

Hey. We're all just waiting patiently for Driveclub Season Pass 2. ;-)

How'd you go in the Rocket League Tourny you organised?
So am I. Lol.

I'm in the round of 16 and I'm probably going to play my match on Friday. A lot of teams flaked during the group stage so I'm not doing that again :(

Finished the Lamborghini pack last night, it's probably been my favourite so far.

Also liked the last Veneno championship. Set myself a personal goal of no contact, so it was making the races much more intense, especially the wet lap.

Got ahead on lap two, and actually made the lap requirement, had to laugh though - talk about close!

Started on the Pacesetter but only did a couple races. Took me a couple tries to get that Lap requirement star on the Clio race at night. Can't see shit captain!

Would anyone mind helping me with the challenges trophy? It's the only one I need anymore for the plat.

Done. I noticed that you slowed down so i could slightly beat your time and then you would beat mine again, but iirc that isn't necessary. It's enough if the person who receives the challenges attempts them and fails, so i stayed under your time on all of them to make things less complicated. :)

Quick, random question.

I haven't played since around early August or so, I think. What's new besides the 488 GTO?

Assuming you saw the last season pass content which was the Horsepower pack just the Renault R.S. 01 and Ferrari 488 GTB in terms of cars, sprint mode, more sprint variations (two per week until Christmas), adjustments to the Rimac Automobili Concept_One and VUHL 05, car statistics in garage, support for a shifter, garage and leaderboad filters, adjustments to the frequency of weather and night in random/dynamic presets. Apparently there is a big update next month. Edit: Oh yeah more elite levels.

Hmm, I remember seeing all of those things last time I played. Maybe it was more recent than I thought and I just hadn't used the 488. Thanks for the overview anyway though.

Yeah I've been trying to work out the trick. Again it looks like speedzone drifting. I'm pretty sure people are drifting from the first drift zone, through the speedzone and into the second. Getting the angle right is almost impossible though!

Edit: here you go, finally cracked it! https://youtu.be/O_PfW1VEhtM

I just did this in a challenge from MRomano80 in the Zonda. Scored almost 12K in the second corner without touching the wall, and am ahead of the second place guy by 6K.

I feel dirty.

Today I tried Driveclub for the first time and I like it a lot, though I'm mostly bumping from corner to corner for now.

I'm curious if there are any gaf clubs with open spots for new members cuz I would really like to join one?

Yeah, so how I think it works is your points increase exponentially the longer you hold a drift. So even though you're starting from 0 at the second section, because you've been drifting for ages it increases super rapidly from there.

I'm sure it'll get fixed really soon. I just wanted to get it worked out in my head with my own words. Appreciate the investigation you've been doing!

The attention to detail in this game continues to blow my mind. I just notice that the Anema switch on the Huracan's wheel works. LOL

Do you guys think a Forzavista type mode would work in Driveclub and do you guys want a feature like that?

The animation for walking around, opening doors and getting in is already there and I doubt it would take much effort (relative to say new tracks/cars) to add hood and trunk (or bonnet and boot if my knowledge of English terms is correct) animations and rendering. But to do it with all existing cars, and to add narration and panning animations to all those cars would probably strain the small operation more than they can be, for something most people will probably look at once per car and then never again.

I'd just be happy with a car porn mode where you can walk around your car (and maybe others, before a race like in the trailers) and maybe get in.

I would like that too. My comment was mostly regarding an exact replica of Forzavista. Just the ability to walk around and perhaps peek at the engines would be perfect and would not strike me as that hard to add to the game.

Hit the first event that I just can't beat in the Driveclub tour.

It's called Punching Above Your Weight and no matter what I do I can't catch up, made worse by the fact the car you need to use (Bentley I think?) handles like a boat.

Any tips? I tried drifting around corners and when I got it right it seemed to help but I'm still terrible at drifting.

Ugh I hated that one. Definitely don't try for all 3 stars in the same race. I think I eventually grew frustrated and used the Bentley's size as a ram to batter my way to the top, but I was newer to the game at that point and went with what worked.
Play that track a number of times until you know every curve, and if you're near the front, the race gets slightly easier when the sun rises on the end of lap 3.

I'd like a feature like that cus Evolution Studios put a lot of detail into these cars.

I used the weight/size of the Bentley to 'gently' push my way through the pack. I would try to avoid drifting at all and instead learn the track as best as possible. More specifically learn the corner entry angle and speed. After some practice I realized there were some corners I could hold full throttle with others just letting off the throttle with no braking which allowed me catch up to other cars fairly quickly. I also used that little s-curve just before the 180 corner near the finish line to get the inside line on cars in front of me and push them to the outside. I could pass a few cars each time through that section if I got it right.

Keep at it! Good luck!

Went back to this yesterday for the first time in quite a few months. I'm about driver level 27 and have only earned something like 100 stars in the main tour because I've spent a lot of time in single races and challenges. Amazed at the number of different tours I've got since buying the season pass - tried the Velocity one (because I love that game) but I suck balls at it and don't think I managed to earn any stars. It's such an amazing game for so many different reasons though, and I'm constantly in awe while playing it. I love the weather effects and I think they're so damn gorgeous, but I hate driving in the rain because I'm awful at it. Ditto for night time races - I love how it looks, but it makes everything twice as difficult so I'm not a fan of actually playing them.

I don't understand what I am looking at?
What is the Anema switch?

I spelled it wrong. It's the Anima switch. It's like a drive selector switch that changes the personality of the car according to reviewers. So you can switch between strada which is english for street, sport and corsa, which is track.

Yea, I doubt anyone will beat you lol. As far as cheat drifts go, that one is about as perfect as they come. The hardest part in that drift track is holding the cheat drift around the corner, instead of simply slamming in to the wall on the right, just before you hit the yellow marker. Inadvertently you absolutely nailed it.
