Can't we have both? I would much rather see the F40 over some of the newer Ferrari. But I would also love a Diablo. So many cars to choose from it must be difficult for Evo to prioritise which ones to chase to get in the game. Just don't go the GT route with 15 variations on a skyline. It's bad enough with the multiple BMW we have already

Finally got round to finishing off the Elements events last night. Venom Hot Lap 2 was disappointingly easy but then i had quite a lot of practice on the track from the first version but holy crap the final 3 race event is something else.
Having visibility at like 10% for two entire races and relying on track memory for braking points was brutal. So satisfying when it's won though.
Also has anyone else had more server issues again in the last couple of days? Don't know if it's just volume of people jumping back on with the new packs but I've had leaderboards taking upwards of a minute to update otherwise the time is lost and in race face-offs not downloading in time again.

Yeah I had the leaderboard issues last night too whilst doing some of the new tour events.

I'd like to see more AI liveries, especially now there's lots of DLC ones added. I realise those are paid-for, but hey it might make the non DLC guys go 'wow look at dat AI liveries' I must buy the liveries.
I prefer when cars look clean, I find all the liveries ugly as hell. :/ plus the livery editor is very limited ( coming from forza).
Anyway I just don ´t want to see beautiful cars ruined by ugly tribal or weird color scheme, so a turn off liveries switch would be awesome for me.

Got to agree. Either give me a full blown livery editor forza style. Or give me the option to turn them off completely. I spent way to long on FM2/3 using the editor to create some classic racing liveries.

Evo/Rushy have mentioned that they are working on a patch to have plain colors selection options right when you're about to choose between default color/club color/custom1/2! So there you go!
That's already in the game and that's not what I asked.
I'm asking about not seeing ugly liveries on AI while playing solo.

I'm afraid i'm not loving the One:1. Maybe i just need more time with it but i'm losing so much time in the first two gears trying to get the thing going and it doesn't seem to sit too well with my aggressive cornering.

I haven't struggled with many events but I got to the Venom hot lap 2 yesterday and found it really difficult I can't keep up with the bloody ghost. I think I can make it up on the last chicane but can never get close enough to make the push.

Try knocking it up a gear when it starts to spin - you can still change gear manually even in auto mode. I can't say it's something I do (I feather the throttle like a madman) but some guys swear by it.
I decided to do a comparison between the F50 and the Speciale last night on Kobago - I was a bit quicker in the F50 but the fastest time ghost with the Speciale was a cheating barrier rammer on the first 2 corners at least which was well annoying (not that I got as near as Auctopus got to him).
Just had it confirmed by the stig that his technique Is to get it in third as quickly as possible - oh and he's got a vid of a lap around Tamil Nadu in 1:10.7...

There are 3 points where I was noticeably quicker than the ghost;
The first two corners can get a decent lead and can be attacked strongly.
The two right handers coming towards the chicane (maybe turns 6 & 7?) I break early and get a much faster drive through that section.
The chicane where you dont even need to break.
My time wasn't good (like 1:19:9) but it was only my 3rd attempt and I screwed up badly on the long left hander so I might go back and see if I can do it better. There happily wasn't the level of frustration I was expecting from some of the comments Id read.

Glad to see my lines and braking points are the same, just a little bit worse on the actual application!
That One:1 lap looks so undramatic compared to when i'm doing anything in it lol

That often seems to be the trick to it, the top guys make it all look so smooth whilst skimming within millimetres of the barriers!
Yeah, it's not much fun. A tip I've discovered is as soon as you start sliding out, release the throttle and push hard in the direction of the track but other than that, I dislike it also. Vuhl and the Spano are my least favourites by a good way.

Kie25 uses a wheel? That makes me feel a little better if so. It's so rare I beat one of his times and if I do, he comes back and smashes mine.

Yeah he uses a T500 I think. Of the other fast guys I know Makikou72 and Redcamao use a pad, not sure about DJW.

Kie25 do use a wheel but his world record for the Venom Hot Lap was done with a DS4. According to the man, it wouldn't be possible on a wheel.
I'm still playing, but far less. The One:1 is a beast. I feel like I'm entering hyperspace and the vibration is insane at high speed. Sensations are just incredible and Driveclub never lacked any of these.

I use a DS4. I've also done lots of runs of Tapaaca reverse and the Berlinetta is one of my favourites. 75% of a good time IMO is knowing the best lines...
The other 25 is a god-given gift and if you don't have it now, you might as well give up.

There's not a lot of love for the F50 when looking back on the history of Ferrari but everyone has a soft spot for the F40 (1st production car to 200mph IIRC) and its supposed to be quite lively/handful on the track. The F50 just feels a bit boring to me.
As for this talk about the fast drivers and using wheels or not, I'm using my age (39) as my excuse. The motor skills and reflexes just aren't what they used to be. On most car/track combos I can get pretty close, but on some I just can't do it. I've made my peace with that.
I have posted some good times, if I get in the top 100 for a track I'm happy with that. But some of those times have left me with my jaw on the floor. Wish that the top 3, 5, or 10 had replays of their time we could watch.

Young whippersnapper, I've got 2 years on you! ;-) I know what your saying though, we have a lad 20 years younger than us in our club and he's just incredibly quick.
Got to say tho, I think Auctopus and DJW were outstanding in the last rally as most of their times from 1 run are still faster than the times that people have had all week to beat. I started the rally thing to see if the guys who posted the fastest time on challenges could only pull it off after 20+ laps - the rally proved that isn't the case.

Personally I think there's pluses and minuses to both - the pad gives you the ability to countersteer quicker but the wheel potentially allows finer movement, more precise throttle and tactile feedback once you get used to it.

Edit: What do we consider WR? There's plenty of tracks I'm the fastest on in certain cars, are we talking about the absolute fastest in any car as the WR?

Just watching some of those videos on kie25 youtube channel and fuck he is good. You know he is good when you see the same name on nearly every leaderboard and hard as fuck to even get close to but damn the driving is just so damn smooth.
So, spent more than 30m trying to beat a Drift challenge, got as close as 19 points, then notice that another player had topped the previous score by more than 200 points.
Felt discouraged, didn't quit.

Omg omg omg omg omg!
Finally beaten the venom hot lap! My time at the start of today was 1:16.567, after enough laps for it to turn dark I had knocked it down to 1:16.065. So close!
Then after another 4 laps on a fresh start i nailed every sector and got a 1:15.273.
So chuffed with that! This game rocks!
