That's...really hilarious. If only DD would just pass into obscurity. He's the one who started all this shit and who perpetuates it. NeoGaf is one community on the web, DD is the one with the platform to keep bringing this up in the press etc.

Unfortunately DD is, at the very least, taking a side-trip to notoriety on his way to obscurity. He may stay there permanently, however.

edit - also, lol at him coming back to neo-gaf to the official too human thread after everything that happened. I've a slight feeling that that triggered this, along with the comments about neogaf..the gall to come back here to promote his game given all the things he's saying..

This thread is just another showing about how great the internet is. No matter how you spin it, the internet is the best reflection of oneself. Basically it tells exactly where people are in maturity and respect. Gives an idea of how their own mind would fare if they had to really control their lives in anarchy.
Makes me think how low and immature most people are and how is it obvious and mandatory to have rules everywhere in order to create the more peace possible.

I think you want for that to be true for some reason, but, obviously, you have no way of knowing for sure whether that's true or not. I would hope, for many people's sake, that their internet persona is a reflection of about 1/1000th of their personality. Not to mention how one can edit and manicure their personality online so that it doesn't resemble their true identity at all.

For example, we have Skip saying Dyack is a good guy in real life. I believe him..I don't find that incredibly hard to believe. But his internet persona needs to be taught a few lessons, ya know?

Just to be clear, I wasn't insinuating that GAF got owned in any way. I don't think any obejctive assessment of the situation would characterize GAF as getting owned anywhere along the line. Individual members of GAF got owned, certainly, and as discussed on Dyack's 1UY appearance they paid a steep price, but this happens literally every day on GAF. GAF on the whole though, certainly not.

depends on the context. we get along well with denis, who is a very likeable and energetic person IN THE REAL LIFE, despite any disagreements you might have.

And he seems like a nice enough guy. He just seems to also speak off the top of his head without thinking about what he's saying and takes forums way too seriously. I don't see how he can think Neogaf is the worst one on the internet given how many developers, press, etc. are on here regularly. Granted, everyone on here is a little snarky but that's part of what gives Neogaf it's charm, IMO.

I've already explained what happened when he came to visit us on the show. we had about 30 minutes of preparation, thinking we would be talking about the game -- I had printouts of 20+ questions from our boards ready to go, then denis opened up his laptop and began his speech. we really had no idea what was going on.

The problem is, all this demonizing has probably moved GAF from where ever it was down quite a few notches. I see plenty of developers openly discussing across a lot of other forums that wont even touch NG. The whole beef with Dyack was that it needed to be reformed, and I think it's true to a bit. The other sites that you see developers post a bit on like Beyond3D and SA, they're moderated heavily. Contentless posts, and stupid memes , one word responses, dumb catchphrases, etc posted will get you booted pretty quickly.

I think people need to step back a second and realise outside a miniscule section of the gaming community this shit is completely insignificant, petty and childish- that goes for GAF and Dyack, although I'd be pretty hacked-off if a forum rallied against me and a project I had expended significant time and effort on.

I can't understand why people are resorting to venomous personal slurs, if you have an issue with a video-game you should intelligently raise your points and discuss like any other. I really feel for Denis here. Yeah, he has acted immaturely at times but GAF are just doing over-kill on the situation. He just spent years on a game that has not been received very well by the critics and yet in every Too Human thread he just gets taken to the sword and it's been this way for months.

GAF have taken their hate too far. I seriously doubt half of you people act this way in the outside world and if you do I pity you. That's all I have to say.

I will try Too Human before passing judgment on the game.
