There is a plus side to a digital event.
There should be less time on transition sequences as there wont be people moving on and off the stage, hopefully no weird music bits or performances either.
Just 100% people introducing games, and when it's done it goes quickly to the next game. I'm assuming the game companies are going to pre-record and edit the scenes instead of live performances.
Not everyone is interested in super challenging games. Why someone would choose to play an Elder Scrolls or Witcher game over a FromSoftware game baffles my mind.
Fixed.Timesplitters 4. A man can cream.
I can't believe they are not participating, big mistake IMO with how many publishers have signed on just seems another blunder from PS. Obviously they can do their own thing but this is already getting people excited for big games in one place, and Sony are missing the party.I just presume they'll do some private video thingy right around that time. Could be wrong, but after E3, that's what I'd like to see.
I'm just wondering if we'll have people on stage talking to the camera (obviously no audience) or just a talking head pre-recorded? Love to see Joe Staten come out and play Infinite just like the old Bungie E3's.Hoping for the Halo floodgates to open full tilt, dam bursting even. What should have been last year *cross fingers, legs, arms, eyes, proton streams* arrives this year and we get a look into all facets of the game. No teasing, no delays and everything it should have been out in the wild.
Gimme some gameplay for Perfect Dark.
Throw Starfield in my face.
Everwild you beautiful Rare thing...
Yep, getting hyped. GAF should be nice and busy this E3 too, a welcome back of sorts.
Something from Respawn outside of Apex would be popping my cherry on top.
Some smaller studio titles coming to fruition would be nice e.g. Shedders, Exo One.
You'll get a lot more than that, Ninja Theory will be showing one of their projects. Coalition are nearly 2 years since Gears 5, a teaser of the new Gears isn't out of the question. It's going to be packed with games more than ever, too many games to mention I reckon.Starfield.
Horizon 5.
Halo Infinite.
Age of Empires 4.
And I will buy a Series X this fall.
Still think mara isn't a big game so I think we get that first before hellblade 2. I think it's a technical proof of concept of a game. You'll get a lot more than that, Ninja Theory will be showing one of their projects. Gameplay looked garbage but the world is pretty ambitious. Not sure how good they can improve it though:
Sony still has not officially delayed god of war. It wont come out this year, but they will probably put out a trailer around e3 time and maybe launch next fall?
I hope your right, if it ends up hitting this year against all odds that would be a great supriseIt's possible that late into the development of GoW Sony and Santa Monica realized they had a sure fire hit and ramped up production on a sequel in time to get something out the door these coming holidays (it did only take them roughly four years to complete GoW 2018), but I just really doubt it. Especially with the pandemic.
I want more freedom to explore than getting axed by monsters in every few seconds! Why someone would choose to play an Elder Scrolls or Witcher game over a FromSoftware game baffles my mind.
alll abooooaaarrddThis was a more than a month old!!!! WTH - how time flies when you fast travel.
We made it gaf! It's June, the season of game megatons!!!!!

Open world rpg. We will then see the first trailer for the outer worlds part 2, which will use a mix of gameplay and cg, game is further along than anyone suspected. Avowed will launch in spring 2022, outer worlds part 2 is set for fall of next year. Finally, they show a teaser, obsidian has partnered with bethesda to create a new fallout game. It will be made in the engine created for the outer worlds rather than bethesda’s creation engine, and it will seek to differentiate itself more from the mainline series and 76. Its described as a smaller scoped, single player fallout game with more in common with the outer worlds than say fallout 4. Obsidian as a studio will seek to put out a new game every two to three years while the larger rpg’s from bethesda take 5-10 plus.
todd howard comes on stage, and we are treated

minecraft rtx is announced exclusively for xbox series. They applogize for the cancellation of the super graphics pack and say that the hardware was not there when they were making it, but now that it is, some of those features have made their way into the rtx for consoles pack
microsoft ends the conference with a 5 minute gameplay teaser for gears 6, coming 2022 exclusively for series x/s
Don’t do this to me. Don’t give me hope
Massive oof if this happened imo. Gears franchise is clearly not the frontrunner it used to be.microsoft ends the conference with a 5 minute gameplay teaser for gears 6, coming 2022 exclusively for series x/s
GoW Ragnarok is still oficially a 2021 game, date announced after many months of pandemic so they already took it into consideration, but it will be released when ready. They won't rush it, but there is nothing pointing to a 2022 release other than rumors and assumptions.Sony still has not officially delayed god of war. It wont come out this year, but they will probably put out a trailer around e3 time and maybe launch next fall?
Jeff Grubb just doused water on the Halo Infinite E3 hype.
Said it's going to be a "Halo ass Halo game" and won't win over new fans to the series. Also doesn't expect any big multiplayer modes at launch other than the Halo staples.
Disaster if true.
He said they're targetted classic Halo gameplay with the game and it will be a very "Halo ass Halo game for Halo ass gamers" and that some of the multiplayer modes will launch after release. You are one of a kind you take time to do a showcase breakdown while sneaking in little jabs at XboxMS:
-Halo Infinite re-reveal, 20 minutes gameplay demo running on a top end PC (even if labeled as running on a Series X) showing its game modes, weapons, some customization stuff an explaining their GaaS long term focus and roadmap for future expansions and updates (many game modes, content and features wouldn't be ready at launch).
-Starfield reveal with another 20 minutes gameplay demo explaining the game, its lore, main features, etc. Only announced for Xbox and PC in the E3, in a few months after launch will also get annouced for PS5.
-Ghostwire Tokyo and Deaploop trailers, announced for Gamepass PC day one and they announce the original release date and the release date for Xbox (1 year later), no PS5 version mentioned but still obviously coming.
-Crossgen Forza Horizon 5 announced for September, gets a gameplay trailer
-Some boring Minecraft part
-Hellblade 2 in-engine cinematic trailer, announced for 2022 (they mean late 2022, but not mentioned).
-Indiana Jones CG trailer, TBA.
-New Killer Instinct announced with a teaser. They may announce they bought Netherrealm to make it in addition to get the MK IP.
-Crossgen Xbox ports of a few of their PC only games like Flight Simulator or Age of Empire.
-Some trailers and a big reel of timed console exclusive indies coming to Game Pass day one during the next year.

I'm pretty sure it will debut with a stunning gameplay trailer in the big ass sumer event, and that it will also get its own State of Play around September. I see a November release to compete against Halo, like with Horizon I think they are waiting to see what release dates their competition announces and then shortly after these E3 conferences Sony makes their own event to announce their release dates and show the stuff they have for the next year specially focusing on H2 2021 stuff. Which is a ton of stuff.
I think Sony's plan is to counter with Horizon gameplay in the pre-E3+Ratchet release and with GoW gameplay just after the E3 conferences anything the others could announce there, showcasing that Sony first party games have the best next gen visuals by far (outside CGs/in-engine cutscenes).
I found the contempt in his post utterly funny but ehhYou are one of a kind you take time to do a showcase breakdown while sneaking in little jabs at Xbox

Not necessarily a disaster since Halo 4 and Halo 5 were clearly attempts to appeal to non-Halo fps competitive fans and they both weren't very successful in the mp scene when it comes to longetivity. Going back to the roots of Halo mp in terms of more skill-based gameplay as opposed to the trigger-shooter mechanics of COD is an interesting choice. I think his worry is more that it lacks the worldwide appeal some people had hoped for the game. I don't know if that was ever a realistic hope.
Again, no BR or even word of a BR mode is more of the disaster imo. Clear head-in-the-sand moment of ignoring a mode that clearly would make Halo more appealing. And I think that's what Grubb is getting at. No BR mode to appeal to a large outside fanbase, the game is more of the same Halo mp and that could be worrisome, could not. Hard to say. The FPS genre (specifically on consoles but also PC to a degree) lack a fresh skill-based shooter with great mechanics and great maps. CS dominates but that skill-based shooter group is hungry for something really well made and Valorant ain't it. We'll see.
I wouldn't rule out spring, that worked real well for the last one.Sony still has not officially delayed god of war. It wont come out this year, but they will probably put out a trailer around e3 time and maybe launch next fall?
My theory is that this is going to be the flagship title for the Super Switch. The timing of the rebooted development makes it a likely candidate for that. Please, Nintendo...
Please.
Even the smallest of crumbs...
The funny thing is I could actually see this happening. Probably won't, but something of this scale could happen this year, or at the very least the next.Updated predictions....

I agree and disagree. The oldschool Halo MP formula is classic and has wained due to fatigue so its looking for fresh approach and perhaps this could be it. I have my doubts. I also think I probably didn't get my point across properly with Counter Strike. They aren't going after that market but instead moving closer to it in terms of a skill-based shooter. That is when Halo mp was at its best. Not the arcade-y feeling MP of 4 and 5. That is what I think Grubb says he sees and what I've also heard. It will appeal to the Halo fanbase, young and old, but won't have mass appeal because skill-based shooters are hard to pick up, hard to master, hard to enjoy for casuals. That is where a BR mode alongside a skill-based shooter makes sense to me. Two birds, one stone.I think a standard skill based multiplayer game released in the modern era is one of the dumbest things one of these companies can do.
If you want to go after the Counter Strike market, you do it with a small to medium sized team...and even then, good luck. But you definitely don't do it with a 6 year development cycle Halo game that's trying to put XBox back on the map. The next big multiplayer game isn't going to come from the archaic Halo formula. The dinosaurs died for a reason. Mammals have arrived.
If Grubb is right, I'll finally be on board with the fanboys who say "343 is mismanaged". Multiplayer entered a new era in 2017, they had 4+ years to get multiplayer right and had all the resources to do it.
Hope he's wrong and we see something interesting/ambitious from the multiplayer team at 343.
