For all the new IP's they greenlit a few years ago, they are still truly terrible in so many ways. That is ridiculous.herod said:So apparently I'm too young (a sprightly 34) to play online in EA games anymore.
EA blame MS, MS say my xbl account is so old it doesn't have a DoB.
MS have offered me a token six month Live sub card to play under a different account as they can't add a DoB to my gamertag. So I have to use autolog etc. under a different gamertag.
Apparently only EA have this XBL account age check.
Fuck EA.

This is so true. I stopped playing Dragon Age shortly after that and haven't gone back to it. It was a huge turn off.ghst said:the moment my party of heroes stumbled upon a wounded man in a country glade, only to be asked if i would like to buy the option to save him from the ea store was truly a watershed moment in gaming for me.
there is no low activision have sunk to that e.a wouldn't replicate in a heartbeat if they thought it would yield similar profits.

Decom said:Another story about how EA sucks:
My brother borrowed my Xbox 360 HDD so that he could play some DLC I had. He forgot my HDD was in and started to play FIFA (published by EA). Since it was on my HDD/gamertag, it used my EA account for the game. Since my brother is a doofus, he changed the email address of my account to his email address. He didn't need the password, which is weird, but I guess it makes sense, since my HDD/gamertag was already linked to my account and all that.
The problem arose when I wanted to change the email address for the EA account back to my address. I received an email from EA saying that the address had been changed to the new address, but it did not give me an option to say that this was a mistake (you know, the links in the email that say "if this was a mistake, click here"). Basically, my brother had gained complete control of my account. I couldn't get the password reset email because it would be sent to my brother. And guess what, EA live chat support requires you to log in before using it, so I couldn't even do that.
Good job, EA. My account was hijacked, without any approval on my part, and with no way for me to get my account back. If I hadn't been able to talk to my brother (or if somebody other than my brother had taken my account), I would have just lost my account for good.
Ok, yes, I did let my brother use my HDD. But what if my Xbox or gamertag had been stolen? That is not really an uncommon occurrence, and EA should account for that with their system.
Yeah...dskillzhtown said:If you let your brother use your HDD, why in the hell did he think it was okay to change your e-mail address?
Snuggler said:So I still can't play the System Shock games on my PC because of EA?
I need a cold shower, brb.
This one is still undetermined, but the state of Mirror's Edge 2 is questionable and it's funny because it was such a great game and it earned them a lot of good will in the gaming community, but it's likely that they're sweeping the sequel under the rug.

Is this really the name they had to choose? Find out more at origin dot com. Assholes.

jergrah said:I agree with this after an issue I ran into last week. Ive used jergrah as my GT/PSN/etc forever. When I post on the EA boards, it shows up as jergrah. Well last week, all of a sudden whenever I went to EA's sites, I would get prompted to set my EA Master ID - a new requirement with Origin in place now. I used 'jergrah' again and it said it was already in use. I thought it was already set at EA, considering everything I do on any of their sites shows as jergrah.
Come to find out, 8+ years ago I converted my email address on EA.com from a hotmail account to a comcast account. Apparently, that Master ID of jergrah stayed with the hotmail account, even though all I did was update my email address. I was on the phone with EA Support for 30+ minutes when they figured this out. Even when they did, they told me "there is nothing we can do -- no one will ever be able to use that ID". Not a huge deal by any means, but now my EA Master ID will always have to be "jergrah1" because updating your email address on their site disassociates your Master ID forever (or it did way back then).
I dont agree with the thread title that EA sucks --- but this experience last week made me pretty frustrated with the entire EA Login setup and situation.
