Sean and Hayes' attempt to make Kumail voice a sex scene for their video game was amazing. I loved how they turned around Kumail's attempt to make the whole thing less creepy. Now if you will excuse me, I'm working on my Batman and Joker comic book for Video Games Comic Books where the Joker is the good guy.

I don't understand how HH isn't more popular than it is, especially on a network like earwolf. These guys probably have the funniest and most fleshed out characters of any character on the whole network. I really think a guest spot on CBB would do wonders for the show.

I think I understand. Their characters are weird. They launch into tangents and never return to finish things, they have nonsense quirks like they're is being bad at grammar, and they have a dozen or so "defining traits" that overlap and contradict and rely on past knowledge--they're big hollywood stars, but sean lives at his dad's and hayes that guy doesn't even know what a hOLDING DEAL is, but they're big nerds, but they're jocks, but they're spiritually liberated, but they're racist and homophobic.

it's a mess. Which is what makes the show so fucking good, but it's a different approach from CBB-type stuff where a character will have one, maybe two gimmicks. And they'll be loud ones. Sean and Hayes balance so many weird quirks and manage to not overplay any of them. The former approach is more inclusive, their approach is hugely rewarding with time.

I think the biggest reason is that it hasn't been properly cross-promoted on their other shows.

And yeah, I don't know why Scott hasn't gotten them on CBB or HDTGM. I think an appearance on either of those shows would give HH a considerable boost.

off topic but new pocket casts 5.0 update is ngghh

also I love kumail

I am liking the look, but I am really hating some functionality changes they have made.

Start from the beginning. It's a show that's basically built on inside jokes.

I started from the beginning. I recommend it as there's so much funny stuff in there, right from the start.

I use Pocket Casts and don't see any problems with it, what don't you like? I thought the updates have been relatively decent.

Thanks I will check them out.

As for Pocket Casts, they seem like they've made every choice take 3 more swipes or clicks. I could be missing it, but I still can't figure out how to stop a podcast and mark it as read and delete all in the same motion where it used to be just hit menu and hit stop and mark as read. I've just been fast forwarding until it ends and deletes on its own.

If you're on the list of episodes then just swipe it to the left and it'll mark as played, then delete the file (which stops it playing). If you're not then you'll need to get to that screen, but that's not such a big deal. If you're on the main player screen you can also just scrub right to the end which will mark as listened and delete.

HH is really not for the mainstream podcast listeners, it's for nerds like us. And for comedy nerds it's probably the best thing out there.

The forums are also a lot of fun so join up and be silly with us.

Doing this would then negate my bitching! Fuck that!

It was mostly exaggerated first time use annoyance. I like the look, just have to get used to the new ways of doing certain things.

in my HH catchup I accidentally restarted the Birthday Boys ep and then purposefully decided to listen to the whole thing, and I've decided that everyone getting so pissed at Cody for thinking going to jail would be fun is the best thing I've heard on this show so far

Andy Daly has a new podcast! Me 2 I’m Talkin’ U2 To U Too

It's this week's Lapkus episode

Man even the eps that should be good aren't doing it for me. I just can't get into this podcast. The best part of the whole run so far was James Adomian doing Tom Leykis for the first half of that ep. Once Lapkus joined in even that got rough.

I can''t explain it, I love Lapkus but I don't like this show at all.

Bread I've been listening to Hollywood Handbook a lot on your recommendation, maybe my favorite podcast now. I don't get how it has so few viewers.

I've been helping the cause by not only listening to tons of episodes but also accidentally falling asleep listening to it and having it play like 5 episodes over night

Glad you love it too, seems like everyone in this thread is a fan now!

I've gone back to the reality show show since I don't have anymore HH eps to listen to until the new one each week. It's funny how straight they have played the ads for the first few episodes given how hilarious they are on HH. There are definitely some kinks but the chemistry between Hayes and Sean was just as good as it is now. I definitely think it's well worth listening to if you enjoy HH.

I just can't get into live podcasts.

Me neither. You really gotta be there in the moment, they usually don't translate well to podcasts where you are detached from the moment.

Haven't listened to this CBB yet though, too busy listening to the new Kendrick album over, and over, and over, and over.

Yeah I have to agree that Lapkus' podcast is really patchy at best. Good news though, Dabney is coming in a future ep (as per this week's CBB). If that doesn't work, nothing will!

Well, Horatio's character was painful.

Ugh. Hes so hard to listen to anymore.

Small doses when he would show up to do Aaron Neville or whatever once or twice a year was fine. His inconsistencies and lack of focus was sort of endearing. Too much is too much though. Hes been on so often lately and I just cringe listening to him.

I haven't reached Horatio yet but let me guess: he's selling an obviously dumb product or raising money for an obviously dumb charity, and also either exploiting child labor or paying terrorists or something to make it happen

I'm still in the first segment, other people can't hear Colin for the first 15ish minutes right? when he and nick are supposed to be saying stuff in unison? Another thing that's disappointing about live eps.

edit: the Sean and Hayes ads are basically the best part again. Sean's dream about a monster with one leg and two arms, "I don't need that many airlines when I take a flight, I usually just use one" "I'm doing one, maybe two", "are the vitamins in a package or they just come loose?...cause I don't want my mail guy handing me loose vitamins"

"Lets pretend your being wizard whose magical power is to not name a video game system when I ask you about which is the best computer, what computer is your favorite?"

"uhh Sega Genesis"

"mm yes ... points"

You look at video games system, but a computer looks at you

I actually really enjoyed the way Handbook did their livecast but I only heard the most recent one. It was kind of different whereas I wished CBB/UTU2 were just in studio. I'm sure they're fun to attend though.

the wedding of Todd and el Bebe was pretty funny, if gross. (diaper caviar) But seriously, goddamn cringe at Horatio. his kanye didn't even devolve into a joke about how bad the character itself was like previous characs of his or like Bro. he was genuinely floundering and doing a less refined version of the caricature from south park six years ago. the hell was the motivation to keep that up even, just do like Kroll and step off stage and come back as someone else.

I guess you were wrong there. And you can't hear Colin for the first 15 minutes because neither he nor Nick aren't talking. Once they start the audio is fixed after 30 seconds.

At this point I think Horatio is a "comic's comic." Everyone on the shows with him love his act but on this forum he's considered unfocused and unprepared.

He and nick come on a lot earlier than 15 minutes; I'm talking about right when they come out. I could hear nick and not colin, but people were responding to Colin.

Listening to old CBB episodes and man some of the old Would You Rather segmants were great.

"Would you rather watch Larry King cover Michael Jacksons death for the rest of your life or die right now" with Chelsea Parretti, Andy Dick and Bob Odenkirk is absolutely hilarious.
