I really liked the new Doom. 8.8/10 for me. Only let downs was the boring (and thankfully brief) Dragon-riding parts.

9 /10 for Nightreign was very high! I love Elden ring, but Nightreign feels like something that should have been a cheap dlc. Cool idea, and fun in short bursts.

I'll be honest, Nightreign ended up being a lot better and more popular than I expected. They have done really good listening to the audience. The game creates some tense and interesting moments, and they can be very funny. Nightreign and Mario Kart World instagrams have been totally covering up my feed and I don't own either game yet, lol. I was expecting a flop and got a pretty cool gaas, so I'm happy for Nightreign. Elden Ring apparently don't miss.

I have no doubt Nightreign will legit be many people's GOTY, I'm over 100 hours into it and still can't get enough, they got that score right at least. I'm amused by anyone that doubted the FROM Gods, they don't miss.

DOOM I'd give an 8, got the plat trophy for it, enjoyed it quite a bit. Blades of Fire score seems harsh lol, demo was fun, seems like one of those 7/10 games. Monster Train 2 has been on my buy list, sure I'll love it.

To a T gets an 8? Twats. I played it and it's completely unbearable, like a super patronising kiddie cartoon show with near zero gameplay.

But it's very Edge - the main character is a they/them and it's all about body positivity for cripples.

A 4? phew. To me that is for borderline unplayable games. It def had that 6.5/7 appearance

was it only 40$ that is cheap to me.

I enjoyed Blades of Fire demo.

Plan to get it when I get some time. 4 seems harsh for what was in the demo. Seemed to get a lot of things right.

Deliver At All Costs and Doom The Dark Ages getting the same score should tell you that their scoring is BS. Then again, opinions and all that. I've played both these games and I would sure as shit not score them the same.

TDA totally deserved, its at best a 7, a lazy ass 15hrs sequel, that took half a gen to arrive.
they probably killed the franchise with that too. its doing horrible numbers

True enough. I kinda remembed it as full price. It's cool though, but I hope From is done with their multiplayer-only phase after Duskbloods. I need my regular "lonely road into the unknown"-Souls fix, where I go offline and just immerse myself in the world on my own.

The precinct is a 7, imo. A really good indie game. Don't know what edge was expecting from it, but the studio more than accomplish what they set out to do with the game.

While I do agree with the Doom TDA score, Elden Ring Nightreign getting a 9 is absolutely crazy.

I've racked up 90 hours in the game quicker than I ever did in the original elden ring. Games like crack to me, the loop is so satisfying.

YMMV of course.

I have 110h in Nightreign, the 9 is deserved.
It's definitely worth the 40$.

But to be fair, while Nightreign is certainly not my cup of tea (I hate Battle Royale-style multiplayer bullshit), the movement seems to be the best it has ever been in a From Software game.

I think the movement seems off and weird. Like it don't sit right with the engine. It seems forced and janky, like some mod of sorts. But it definitely works in the gameplay loop. I woudn't want that quick and weird movement in a regular "souls" game though.

I feel like such a piece of shit. Still don't own it. Just haven't had time lately. I'll get to it ASAP.

Yeah it's pretty crazy, never thought I would be into basically an Elden Ring Fortnight type of game with set characters / classes but I've been having a lot of fun with it.

I have had my eyes on The Siege and the Sandfox. Anyone have any snippets of their review?
Like many a Metroidvania, this one lets you sample your character in full flow before swiping away their powers and asking you to walk before you can run again. In the case of the Sandfox, however – framed for regicide and dropped into a cavernous dungeon – they're still well-equipped for survival. True, it will be some hours before we climb out again, but here is a wily operator even when down.

The unnamed setting recalls Prince Of Persia, but the Sandfox is far from royal. An anonymous hooded figure with an ear to the ground and a knack for going where they shouldn't, the justifiably silent protagonist is fleshed out through their appearance and animation. You're at home in dark spaces, out of sight, where only the outline of your cloak and hood remains visible. There's a sense of momentum when you run up walls, and athleticism as you lean into a jump or twirl around poles and then slingshot away.

While you're the most nimble of all the dungeon dwellers, however, you're also vulnerable. There's no combat here – although you can club unaware guards out cold – and any damage sustained is fatal, so stealth is paramount. On that count, The Siege And The Sandfox feels a little like Mark Of The Ninja, with circles pulsing from your steps to signify sound, patterns of light and shadow to manipulate, and a chance to run if you're spotted. In a neat touch, if you stop moving, you're able to pinpoint the direction of nearby footsteps.

Thanks to your agility, the simple guards struggle to catch you, but things can get messy if you're seen. Glitchy AI means that some foes refuse to resume their patrols once you're out of sight, potentially blocking your path. And when you're trying to escape or navigate the smartly designed platform sequences, the controls aren't always on your side. This is a game in which you often have to make the right kind of jump to execute a plan, but the difference between inputs for some moves is minimal, leading to mixups.

Also, while the dungeon is a wonderfully intricate, interlinked construct, Cardboard Sword is over-zealous in placing gates and one-way systems. In addition to having to find gear to access pastures new – lockpicks, greaves to slide through grates – progress involves ingratiating yourself in theunderground economy by completing side quests, earning access in return. Yet while objectives are marked, the map is somewhat bare, failing to reveal which routes are still barred.

If patience is required, though, it's equally repaid. Playing as the Sandfox remains inherently pleasing, along with the game's story and atmosphere. A little post-launch care could see it truly shine. | 7
I don't post text in the OP because it's very extensive and if you take out of the context, even the last phrase, it makes no sense.

I dunno, I always think that the movement has been the weakest part in all From Software Soulslikes (Sekiro is not a Soulslike). With Elden Ring being the least worst, but still feeling kinda janky. You can get used to it, though.

The click-the-stick to run in Nightreign is something the series has needed forever. No more claw grip

I finished Doom a few days ago and it is solid 9/10. It tries different things and does them brilliantly. I think it is the best one of the new Dooms.
