My friend and I are thinking about getting this.

Anyone know if we can party up with a rando for our third, or do you have to have a defined/friend party?

One of the reviews said that even using a password, if there are only 2 players a random will fill the third spot.

point taken but it's just stupid. I was thinking of getting the game if people here wanted to organize games together but instead everyone is just whining about it. It's like a school dance with boys on one side and girls on the other side

I'll likely try to organize with folks in here once it drops. My issue is I play at night when my family sleeps and my voice carries even when I whisper. So I am forced to be a no mic bitch.

Any word of this being cross play? I got it on ps5 against my better judgement so I can play with a buddy.
 
Perhaps I'm just a ludicrous optimist, but I've gotten super hyped for this over the last few days.

The game looks and sounds much weirder than I was expecting - couldn't ask for more! More devs should take low stakes chances like this, if done with more sincerity than cynicism.

Really looking forward to giving it a go when my physical edition arrives! (though I'll be sad to postpone my 3rd Elden Ring playthrough for a while).
 
OP I commend your effort…you might have made quite possibly the longest OT title I've ever seen lol, but I commend you.

Hopefully the amount of people entering the |OT| just to tell us how much they don't want to play the game, will eventually stop after a few pages.
 



100 x better than the OG Roundtable Hold music.

Whatever may happen with Nightreign, the music is going to be 10/10 for sure.

Thinking of going for the deluxe addition but hate that there isn't a single detail about the dlc. No release date or window, is it just for a new character, new map, what does it include?
 
What's the difficulty like on this if you're playing with people? Are the enemies harder because there's more of you, or are they set at normal difficulty so a lot of bosses are too easy with 3 players? Kind of intrigued how they've handled this.

From what I have seen, bosses are terrifying in this.

You dont get to repeat them ad nauseam. Once your party die, you are sent back to drawing board.

Definitely doesn't look too easy.
 
I really want to buy it and play it with randos, but I'm really afraid of everyone going their own way and the experience being misserable. Anyone on the same train?
 
Amazon cancelled my preorder, apparently demand is high and they can't fulfill the order, has never happened to me before. Forced to go digital because I don't want to wait, preloading now 👌
 
Less than 24 hours, but unfortunately I won't get my copy for another 2 days, the store I pre-ordered from informed me

But I get this cool, Seekers Edition, with a steelbook

Wtf, really? Weird. Bandai Namco cancelled my collector's edition, lmao. I preordered it as soon as it was announced in February. I thought it was weird I didn't get tracking details or anything so I logged in to check and it said it was cancelled on the 15th. So I just bought the digital deluxe. Still kind of annoying that it was randomly cancelled. Didn't get an email or anything. 🤷‍♂️ I saw a number of people said the samething happened to them, I remember them doing the samething with the Elden Ring collector's edition. I just heard their online store sucks, and it seems to be true, lol.

Oh well, saved me $150, and now I'm preloaded and ready to go. 🤸‍♂️

Yes the enemies scale with how many people there are. Not sure on damage but yes for health. Solo play will have enemies with less health.

In the network test it wasn't bad. Don't get me wrong, it did happen. But most of the time, people I grouped with were sticking with the group. Someone had to take charge and be a leader though and put down map pings consistently.

thats actually crazy, the last time this happenned from amazon for me was when GTA5 came out.
 
Two friends and I have PS5 copies pre-ordered. I'm looking forward to it.

One friend and I are big FromSoft fans. Any beginner tips for my other friend who is new to FromSoft are appreciated. I really hope he likes it.
 
I went from passing on this to buying it. I really like Elden Ring's combat and this one is quite a bit faster. The character designs are awesome, the monsters and bosses are of course, great as well. It's been such a long time since I played ER, that even though everything outside of the main 8 bosses are just reused content from ER I remember very few. 😂. Hopefully, From releases DLC maps and new classes to play, which I'm sure they will.
 
My first game it dumped me into multi and ppl didn't know WTF they were doing. I've been watching videos and tips,, but you can't communicate it to ppl on their very first game.

Protip to play in single player: at the Roundtable Hold., when choosing your Expedition tab over to the tight (RB on the controller) scroll down to the bottom and choose single player to acclimate yourself to the game first. If you don't, it'll group you up automatically.

Right, it's a fun game that you can play with friends and at a discounted price. A side project for from but not everything has to be the highest critically rated game ever.
 
I'm still on the fence about this one. How is it to play with randoms? Might still buy it when they add 2 player option later and friend of mine wants to play it too.

Even that argument didn't matter. If Capcom could get away with reusing sprites in a multitude of Vs games during the 90s and early 2000s (games that people here all love), I don't see why From can't do their own 'Vs style' game but in their own genre/style.
 
Played two games.
First game all of us just died because the night moved in and trapped us.
Second game made it all the way to margit, almost killed him too; game is pretty damn fun imo, hard though definitely balanced around 3 people, part of the difficulty also comes from having a limited amount of time to level up, so you're just running from great enemy to great enemy trying to get some strong stuff.

most of the bad reviews seem to be:
where is 2 player mode
where is communication
matchmaking doesn't work
60fps cap
where is ultrawide
etc.

It's funny because a lot of these things were known/talked about, while other things just sound like standard FS launch lol. Not defending it, it's just pretty standard with FS. FS jank is forever lol.

Also, good lord is continuning my save taking forever to load wtf lol.

This is definitely a time sink get gud kind of game in single player. I wipe on the first night boss every time. Crowd control is the hurdle when you've got perfumers, monkeys, and the Ball Bearing Hunter all to take care of. It's been a while since I have seen this kind of challenge. 😂

mods in general should be super cool in this game. tons of stuff probably for an enhanced/more convenient solo mode, different bosses, different characters, different weapons, QoL changes, etc. im looking forward to that too in the coming weeks/months.
