Elden Ring Nightreign |OT| Praise the Rain

Anyone here played a lot with randoms? How is that experience? Groups splitting up a lot or generally on the same page?

Meh...
"we just reached level 2, let's go kill that massive dragon over there!" -_-

Some can organise themselves, but most runs are to forget.

But in 2 weeks they will all be coordinated pros!

I managed to get the 2nd night boss down to 10% in my first time with the Raider, because the other 2 guys were actually decent and I haven't figured out how to use the character skill!

I dabbled a lot in solos yesterday, but I also played 4-5 games. The last one I played was great and we beat the first night lord, both players were marking the areas with mini bosses and other stuff, so we just ran through from one to the other getting buffs and pick-ups. It was awesome.

The other matches were alright, still enjoyable, but not nearly as skilled. One of my first matches started off as strong, and me and this other player were following the one that was marking stuff as it seemed like he knew what he was doing. We ended up getting stuck outside of the fire/storm because he guided us the wrong way. We tried to make it through with flasks, but we didn't.

I'd imagine rando experiences will just get better and better with time.

The collector's edition is awesome. The Wylder statue is beautiful, highly detailed. Nice steelbook, awesome artbook, some cards and easily overlooked but just as important: download codes to the incredible soundtrack (which isn't available yet otherwise).

I still hate that they randomly cancelled my order a week and some change ago, but it's all good, lol.

Played 3 games, 1 hour 20 total time played.

Initial thoughts;

They should massively reduce revival time/number of hits. I think 3 hits should be the absolute max.

If a team mate leaves you should be able to leave with no penalty.

Beat first boss twice now. Once with randoms, once with a buddy and a random.

We made it to the rock jaw second boss on the list.

Fuck…that. We tickled him while he 1-2 shot us. Jesus fuck…

I'm enjoying co op but may try solo once this change occurs to try it.

I've watched several extremely experienced Elden Ring streamers play solo and it does not look like a good time if you're not a hardcore Elden Ring player.

If you don't know the attack patterns of the minibosses, know the movesets of the weapons and all the buffs like these streamers the whole experience is brutal.

Will give it a shot myself later today.

Yeah I feel this really helps. On my fourth run we killed the first night lord and at that match there was one player just marking all the good stuff I guess. Might be an idea to have an option for one person to volunteer as group leader and to match them with people who like to follow more.

Yeah tree sentinel ain't shit, I kinda hope to get him as the second boss now instead of margit.
Got the day 3 boss down to half health, but when he splits into three separate enemies is when he got us; I'll get him next time.

Revenant is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad.

I'm watching Dist play Revenant for a second time and he keeps raging about how bad this character is. Apparantly there is no real way to regain mana? Like they didn't include flask allocation like in Elden Ring.

Bizarre character.

I'm enjoying the Recluse, beat the 1st nightlord with her.
Infinite FP with collecting affinity and paired with a Finger Seal with Heal there is no need for flasks.

I hate gank squads! Unlocking the Revenant was a pain.

Bro if you do not already know the attack patterns of these very specific bosses From chose to include in this game you are ngmi. Absolutely insane.

Streamers make playing solo seem kinda doable because they know the .1 second attack patterns of Magma Wyrm or fucking Astel but if you're just a casual Elden Ring enjoyer this game is going to fuck you up.

Not good.

If you ever see a purple cloud thing floating, do the event if you're team is decently leveled. You get a nice passive buff for the party.

For any base PS5 users, I have a few questions (specifically regarding performance mode) if anyone can answer to the best of their ability.

How is the framerate on the PS5 version?
Does it hold 60 or constantly waver depending on the number of enemies/big bosses?
Does it feel like they have made any improvements on making it feel more stable than original ER?
Is the framerate simply better/solid 60 when playing the PS4 version on PS5 (like in the original ER)?

Tell me you don't know how to play the game without telling me you don't know how to play the game:

- phantoms do decent dmg but more importantly they act as aggro, particularly effective against bosses. Boss focused on giant skeleton bro? We gang up behind him and tear him a new asshole OR use the opportunity to heal/regroup

- Faith has S scaling and every run I've found *multiple* incants to diversify the build. Last run I had blood flies and melted every boss/elite enemy with them, I was the main DMG dealer in the party.

- Ultimate will *instantly revive* all party members wherever they are, you do not need to be close by. Utility of this speaks for itself, especially during boss battles

- people keep forgetting any character can use any weapon. I found a rare scythe my last run and was *doing more melee damage* then either the Wylder or Guardian in my party, yes you read that right

- strumming a lyre to summon ghosts is badass, nuff said

Everyone will have their preferences but try learning a character before declaring it bad, Revenant is tied with Ironeye as my overall favourite and I can see how it would be great for solo play since having the phantoms is essentially like having other characters fighting with you.

Wylder fucks, I haven't seen anyone use him yet, it's always birdman or wolfboy, or recluse; I guess people think he sucks because he's the default? 🤔

Honestly, effing terrible. Noticeably worse than ER. Shame really

I just tried raider and he fucks even harder 🤣 Think I'm gonna main him for a bit. Almost beat the first last day boss with him, but my team wiped right at the end..I should've saved my ult for that moment, but I didn't expect it.

Profound sadness

Is it possible to summon a pillar directly under a large enemy to hurt them?

Had a lot of fun playing with two of my friends. We made it to the first Night Lord on Run #3 and played maybe 7 runs total. Got Gladius down to ~10% health at one point when we are all level 11, but alas. Maybe tomorrow we'll get him!

Agree with the others: It drops frames particularly when you most don't want it to (i.e., lots of chaos happening on screen). It makes things more difficult.

From should introduce a "Journalist" mode where it actually locks to 60fps.

I'm loving the game so far. I'm playing with two friends and we are having a blast. Loving the little side quests the game tasks us to do and each character has a different one.

My issue with the Revenant is just FP management.
Having S Faith but very limited casting skill sucks (at least until you equip FP regain relics).

Has never been a big issue for me, constant free mp replenish at sites of grace, item that restores mp if needed which is only really for the Night Lord (and can be bought at the shop before fighting it). Default claws are powerful, especially once upgraded. Also just observed in my last match that phantoms will actively attack downed allies to revive them, very cool.

I found this video very helpful.
My teams of randoms keep going to ruins as soon as we land and obviously it goes very wrong.
