By your logic, PS and PC make up the "vast majority" of From gamers so if From keeps making games for those two platforms, but excludes Xbox.....that's ok, right?

I’d be more than happy with that scenario. Yes! Day one ps5 and pc is fine with me. But my concern amongst others is that this will be locked to ps5 only.

Nobody here cares about mobile/cloud yes. But its a growth sector that’s going to get bigger and bigger. It can’t be discounted entirely.

The argument being put forth is that those studios were basically first-party studios before Sony officially acquired them, which is true. No one would call From a Sony first-party studio at the moment, so why act like the situations are similar? They aren't.

He's wrong that those acquisitions always go wrong though. They've worked out well for Sony. I also don't think Sony would ruin From. They're not incompetent like Microsoft.

While the Series X has been doing well, there is still an outcry for AAA exclusives. After two years of meager offerings for a lack of a better word, Starfield is poised to deliver. I can't think of a more important game in the history of the Xbox brand besides the original Halo that supposedly saved the console.

If Starfield succeeds, this could be enough to rekindle people's trust in the brand and make them patient enough to wait until Senua's Saga that presumably will launch next year. Following this, we're expecting Avowed, and Perfect Dark later on. Starfield is the kickoff. On the other hand, if it fails, it would be absolutely disastrous. Microsoft is putting a lot of faith in that game and so are gamers. Described as Skyrim in space by some, it's expected to be the biggest release of Xbox in years.

Fair enough. I'm hopeful From Software keeps publishing games on all platforms regardless. Time will tell about mobile, but that's a different discussion.

Past behaviour and Sonys current strategy of heavy reliance on hardware sales (although I know they are slowly trying to transition from that model but will take time). Hoping I’m wrong and it’s more akin to the Bungie acquisition. I’d be ok with that.

I will limit the exclusivity of From games for 1 year if you will release Starfield GotY on PS5, but it has to be announced at TGA tonight, or deal's off and Bloodborne 2 goes full loss leader platform exclusive for PS6 launch and "Bloodborne Hat & a Trench guy" becomes the new background of the PS6 homescreen.

Are the employees currently getting paid shit money or what? I don't see any other reason to be excited from their perspective. From Software is doing great on their own - they can choose what they want to do (and on their terms) and the fans will buy whatever they make. After being taken over their products will automatically reach less people because of the platform exclusivity and there are additional risks of losing jobs and some of their creative freedom with more focus on sequels.
