LIJoe and Justin were in the same bracket apparently. Real talk though, LIJoe is honestly the best choice for an ESPN-friendly American top 8 player. If Justin had made it instead, the whole top 8 would be Asian, and your average ESPN random viewer would be making a lot of Asian nerds on TV complaints. We're going to get those anyway but LIJoe gives them somebody to cheer for and makes it look at least a little bit more diverse.

It was bad for a time

It's great what the game has evolved into. It's basically gone through 3 phases.

First was exploration. Lots of creative teams, tons of character variety.

Then refinement. Vergil, Doom, more Vergil, more Doom, Zero/Magneto/Wolverine/Morrigan, more Vergil and Doom. Nothing else was viable, supposedly.

Then it turns out that tons of other stuff is viable too when played at a high enough level. We've got tons of specialists for different characters and teams. That's where we're at now, and it's great.

Fell asleep pretty much right after Daigo/JWong. Woke up a few times and caught a bit more here and there. I thought I was having a nightmare when I seen Filipinoman was still in it. With top 8 being televised you know he would've had some attention whoring pop off loaded in the chamber.

Yeah it's rough. Had to skip the end of finals last year because of how late it was. I have to be at work at 6:30 tomorrow so unless finals go by with the swiftness, I'll have to skip it again this year.
