Which Crusade is this? If it's the first, rocks!

If not - weaksauce!

No time to check out the trailer, and I can't find a date for it in any materials I've scanned.

Third I think... Saladin is one of the characters.

Looks awesome and it's made by the same director that did Gladiator. Movies like this are so worth seeing in a movie theater.

Jesus, that did show like the whole movie. Looks pretty sweet, if not a bit familiar. But I'm sold because it's directed by Ridley Scott.

hah, and I thought the first trailer for this was long. :lol

Anyway, this will be Scott's way of returning epic films to their former glory since Gladiator. Looks absolutely awesome.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
Looks like Ridley Scott's going to take Peter Jackson to school.

Hawt!!!

I bought Alexander for DVD yesterday and I gotta say the movie was better now than in the theatres :lol Dunno why but I really liked it. Especially the battles!

Anyway, can't wait to see this movie. I love the new Hollywood trend! More epic adventure movies plz! :)

The movie is 2:30 long, I doubt they showed the whole movie in that trailer ;)

Yeah but they included snippets from so many scenes that most won't feel 'new.'

I wonder what it'd be like to watch a movie I'm anticipating without having seen the trailer or any media. It's too tempting though...

Heh, this movie looks like The Two Towers set in the middle ages. Everything from
the whole 'every able bodied man and boy' recruited to Orlando's 'They're Here' line sound directly lifted from LotR.
Will definitely see it though.

Remind me again about the third crusade.
The muslims win it don't they?
The end of the trailer certainly seems to suggest it.

The third crusade was a response to saladin's (re)conquering of Jerusalem, which ended in a peace treaty between Richard the Lionheart and Saladin; muslims retained control of Jerusalem but they allowed unarmed Christian victims to visit the city.

After watching the trailer, I wanted to find out how accurate it really is. For those interested...

Haven't seen the trailer 'cause I don't want to get the film spoiled for me, but DUH. PJ sucks at directing big battle scenes.

That's cool. I was wondering how accurate it is going to be. Someone in another thread about the other trailer joked about Mecha Gibson winning the war for the christians. Lol.

Edit: The line "We must protect not just these stones but the poeple who live within them.." kind of bugs me. Makes it seem like Sladin was Ghengis Kahn coming to sack Jerusalem and kill everyone.

Hang out with Steve.
Looks fantastic. What a year for movies!
4/29: Hitchhiker's Guide.
5/6: Kingdom of Heaven.
5/19: Episode III.
6/17: Batman Begins.
6/29: War of the Worlds.
And so on, and so on.

Thats because we only have to worry about europeans dying, all the jews and muslims in jerusalem had already been slaughtered like sheep in the first crusade.
