All women I've dealt with have been difficult, even abusive, but that's been situational and because I've been prone to dealing with bad people

But that thread's tone is terrible af

Not touching that with a ten foot pole

No one gets to act outraged about chicken murders if they eat chicken and eggs which are the cause of far more chicken suffering than a quick death

Breh, I'm more outraged at refugees being tied up.

Idgaf about chicken suffering. (I do but it's at the bottom of list of things I take the time to actively care about. Plus I love eggs so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Fried chicken is actually an awesome breakfast food to pair with waffles.

These daddy long legs aren't doing their jobs. There's a spider crawling across my wall and a daddy long leg near it and it's doing nothing about it.

I really don't like this abbreviation, because it makes me think there's an id Software GAF community.

Finally managing to watch all of Mr Robot. Damn this is so good, I have no idea why I stopped last time.

Aeana is on fire.

I think it's different though since in that case they were ripping the heads off for nothing more than a scare tactic. Senseless killing.
But the refugees being tied up is what I would be more furious about.

Raising and killing animals in often horrifying and shocking ways because people think they're tasty isn't much better of a reason

Fuck, I just watched the video from what I assume is what trab was talking about. Police didn't even prosecute the men who beat the guy and then tied him up. smh

Honestly I can't argue with that.

Mr. Robot is one of my favorite shows. Wish it was on Netflix so I could binge entire seasons.

That's fucking Saxony for you. Germany's very own rednecks

p. sure aeana doesn't like me at all

love her enthusiasm towards jrpgs tho

Just seen X-Men: Apocalypse, for me in terms of superhero movies this year it goes:
Civil War>Deadpool>X-Men: Apocalypse>Batman v Superman

Can't wait for Suicide Squad.

Holly if your daughter didn't make you feel old then I think there might be worse problems! :P

Vodka is boring ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well duh. That's what makes it such a good base alcohol for mixing in other stuff. Try telling me a moscow mule is boring.

Nah. You don't even have to care about the lives of chickens to think that breaking their necks in front of people who aren't prepared for it is cruel. It's about signalling, same as drawing a pretend knife across your throat. You're not saying "look at this bad thing I'm doing", you're saying "look at this bad thing I'll do to you."

Chicken is delicious.

Chicken is delicious.

You should have to watch your food die to be entitled to eat it.

I actually believe that the (by and large) treatment of animals by our food industry is morally wrong. I'm willing to set aside the base question of whether and when it's okay to eat an animal (e.g., survival situation, or a humane killing, etc) but what goes on shocked my conscience and I don't want to be part of it.

I'd probably rank Deadpool above Civil War just because it had better writing but the rest seems accurate.

Things that make me feel old: My daughter completely confused by the N64 controller.

That controller didn't make sense then and it doesn't now.

I do. but I hardly think some drunken idiots ripping off your head is quick and painless.
you do have a point here of course though. it's always unnecesary cruelty. it's just a selective thing to get upset about this one incident.

how quick the death is is beside the point, I'm against all instances of cruelty and our food industry is the result of unfathomable amounts more of it than some assholes in germany

My Chinese flatmate told me how when she was in middle school class mates used to go to farmers and by young chicken for some pennies and then snap their necks...for fun because they liked the feeling of it.

Which is fine. If you want to watch your food die before you eat it, be my guest. But I feel absolutely no compulsion to do so. I have seen it before, my aunt has a farm and I've been on hunting trips with my cousins, I just don't care. Actually, it's pretty neat watching people field dress venison and similar meats, but I obviously don't have time to do it at every meal.

That does sound neat.

edit: I do accept that many people won't give it up and I don't usually mention it or bother people with it, but sometimes I get baited.

So the smell of calamari rice made me nauseous to the point actually feeling ill and fall asleep for 2 hours. FML

I could go vegetarian at this point. I have grown to like a veggie diet. Like I may have sushi from time to time because that's the only thing I don't want to give up lol but even veggie sushi can work.

But honestly I have other causes that I align myself with that take further precedent over not eating meat.

They only times that I see my food alive before I kill and eat it involved seafood, namely from fishing trips.

I'm not big on hunting for sport, though. Any fish that I catch become dinner.

lol are you trying to join some sort of underground army or why can't you do both?

yeah, I just got baited into this thing, I'm not trying to act like you guys are assholes, and I apologize if it sounded that way.

I mainly just act in accordance with my conscience and don't attempt to prosthelytize.

it suddenly started storming and the winds are scary. :(

Because it takes a lot out of you mentally. and do I really want another reason to be even more angry at the world?

what kind of reasoning is that?! going vegetarian doesn't make you more angry. if anything it can make you feel better about yourself if you aren't content with how the food industry works in the first place.

this is the type of thing that baits me. You can eat meat but what's the point in taunting someone with the fact? It comes off as disdainful because I actually do care about the animals. Just you do you.

I read an interesting article the other day that explains how - psychologically speaking - making fun of or trivializing a matter that includes pain and suffering of others is usually a defense mechanism to not let the topic touch you. it will happen a lot in discussions like this. in my years of being vegan I've experienced it like 93409324 times.

Look, I understand what it's like to not give a fuck, because I didn't always. I'm not trying to judge people, honestly, but when they taunt me over it once they learn I'm vegan I do get ruffled.

I guess we're on the same side again
