My brother got to watch up close as my eye was surgeried on. At the place where I got lasik they have a monitor where people with the patient can watch if they want to (I'm still not sure why they do that, because most people react with horror) They cut a flap, lift it up, and do shit.

No. Immediately following surgery you're nearly blind for at least 10-15 hours and your eyes will feel like they have sand in them. Come to think of it though I did post a few times on neogaf during that period by holding the phone one inch from my face. It was last summer.
You can also smell burning eyeball during the surgery. There are some things they don't mention beforehand because it might scare you off. It wouldn't have scared me off, though, I'm pretty brave at surgery stuffs.

I was quite myopic (I think -6.00 dioptres or so IIRC) so quite reliant on glasses. Plus due to the somewhat high prescription that was needed, wearing the glasses would quite noticably "shrink" my eyes. If you are nearsighted, putting glasses on will, outwardly, make your eyes appear smaller. This is often unnoticeable but after a certain point it's very noticeable. Since my face is somewhat full already it wasn't a good look.
I still wear glasses sometimes because I wasn't granted perfect vision, but my prescription is far lower and I can see well enough to function without them.

This game planning stuff is super motivating and a little bit demotivating too lol. I already have a nightmare clusterfuck of a diagram going just describing the basic first drafts of how scenes are connected and open up, not any story stuff and barely puzzle relevant ideas in there, and it's already so so much.
When I'm home later I'll probably start drawing out some sketches and that's probably gonna be the moment where I go "wait a minute, I can't actually draw" and that'll be a difficult realization lol
