Fair enough I guess, but work van plus regular servicing paid for by work means I haven't had car troubles in a hell of a long time.

Something is going to go wrong next time I'm a hundred k's from anywhere now that I've said that.

having a company car is fair game. But I love working on cars. I guess future wrenching will be less mechanical and more programming. Engine mapping is still going to be a thing, but I only fear strong DRM.

That's right, you said you'd have a bunch of project cars if you had the means.

Never been interested in them as anything more than a way to get around.

Although I wouldn't say no to an '80s Countach....

Yeah Sol, set it to some chill Vaporwave....

speaking of indie games

I'm afraid to play That Dragon, Cancer.
watching and reading those articles about the game just kill me.

"vandorne, belgian chocolate in a williams sandwich."

F1 commentators can be so weird.

My first car was a 1984 300zx Turbo. It was pretty well restored and I had it upgraded to what enthusiasts of thar car line call "stage 3". If I recall that meant I had installed a thicker downpipe to the exhaust, a better air intake, and a boost controller to bleed pressure out of the turbo's wastegate for more zoom

After that car died to car cancer I stopped caring about car stuff... Or perhaps I'm just too old for this shit. In stark contrast to my younger self, I'm now fearful of driving fast and just dislike driving in general

My opinion of you has gone through some weird changes. I really like you.

Like any other major and expensive hobby, it can be draining. Monetarily and emotionally. Like one of my brothers had the same experience. Had a 240sx, broke down, and now just wants a reliable efficient car. I won't fault anyone for that.

Alos, this Polish Porter has gone straight to my brain.

yep

it was sooo fucking 80's hip... It had a digital dashboard and little voices and stuff. Like if your gas was getting low, a lady's voice would tell you about it.
it looked just like this

Image was fine when I first posted.

However, now I will have a look at their site and be veeeery judgemental about it.

EDIT

These cocksuckers haven't updated since 2009 and they want to pull that shit on me? Who do I pay to nuke their site?

There's no good way to know about that beforehand. Your browser caches the image so it doesn't automatically get reloaded and trigger the hotlink gate.

most times I rehost gifs to a service meant for it to avoid such problems.

:: wisdom ::

or in many cases I just record the gifs myself

No way was I putting in that effort for a splash screen that said Totally Rad in 80's arcade cabinet style.

And man, you really love that gif.

I ADORE that gif!

I enjoy crafting gifs -- it's an artform unto itself. Making gifs of my game or just making them from whatever. My gfy account has hundreds of them on it.

I honestly feel like I kind of popularized using gifs as a marketing tool for games.. Like.. WHen I started doing it in 2012, I fucking never saw anyone do it. I have to believe I had a hand in it.

I sometimes have to think of better known terms or colloquialisms because I do use vocabulary that may be not familiar.

I have friends way smarter than I, but words has been my strong suit. So when I use them, they're like "what does 'X'" mean or some such.

The perks of being an English major.

'ephemerality' is one of my favorite words, because it's beautiful, it can be used beautifully, and it's not heard frequently in common speech.

and lord does the warcraft movie look shite

If I heard someone speak it I'd assume they were trying to merge effeminate and morality.

I think ephemeral is a beautiful word but ephemerality is a bit much, a little too awkward to pronounce. It's six whole syllables in a word!

Guys I made my Mii have the worst voice imaginable in Miitomo. It's worse than my Dragon's Dogma pawn.

I always have my phone muted but I hope the friends I added try it out once.
