I'm actually looking forward to it too (next year). I love linear, action packed games and this one looks to be of high quality. I'm annoyed by what MS has done and how SE's gamble screwed with the brand.
If this whole digital vs physical thing makes me feel anything, it's that any store that breaks release date should never again be given the time of day by a major publisher ever again. It's ridiculous to have the game out in the wild a week or more before lunch, with massive spoilers all over the internet days before the game comes out.

Sounds like they're copying a bit of Skyrim there. Lots of the big quests there start as Misc quests.

Not a big Fallout person. In fact, I'm not sure if I actively dislike the games or not. But damn if GCU and GAF Hype don't just make me wanna jump up and buy a game! Get it for $51, get that $10 certificate, trade in potential for $44. There's really just no negative here. Maybe this one will click with me for some reason. I hope it does.

Assuming you do buy the game, I really hope you enjoy it. There's really nothing like the thrill of discovery in a Bethesda game across the rest of the AAA space.
It's going to be a travesty.
If it reviews well - review outlets will be dubbed as Bethesda shills/fanboys and their scores are inaccurate and the game will suck after 2 months.
If it reviews mixed/badly - Bethesda haters will be out in full force saying they were right all along and continuously shitpost about Bethesda and about people who enjoy Bethesda games.
Staying out of that one.
That's the benefit of physical copies. If you trade it or sell it relatively close to launch you can essentially rent the game for a few bucks.

What difficulty are you on? If you were to rate the difficulty a 10 immediately upon leaving the vault, how would you rate the difficulty after 20 - 25 hours? Just curious if it becomes really easy after a while in terms of money and power.

Same here. I haven't been sold on the game quite yet (just not much of a Fallout fan, or the genre of game, to be honest), but there's definitely some serious second-hand hype going on here. The embargo is only a few hours away, so I'm most certainly looking forward to reading more detailed impressions of the game in the morning.

Hey, if there's one thing I'll concede to it's that there will be plenty of Bethesda fanboys in the thread to keep the fun going, too ;p
although I'm expecting of course that they'll be made out to be a much larger presence than they'll actually be, especially any vocal zealots who pop up and suddenly, somehow, come to represent the entirety of the fanbase in the eyes of their opposition. And we can't forget the juniors who are destined to worm themselves out of the woodwork at even the slightest hope of posting checklist.jpeg and getting a chuckle out of it

Watching a stream on ps4 right now. 3rd person combat looks so much better, looks fun. Also the streamer was asked about the frame rate and he said it was fine.

1 away from Armorer with Strength.
1 away from Locksmith with Perception.
1 away from giving a fuck about Endurance.
1 away from max Charisma for passing dialogue and surviving in Survival Mode.
1 away from Nuclear Physicist in Intelligence so that I can make up for crap Strength and Endurance with longer power armor use.
1 away from Sneak in Agility, may end up putting two points into it for Action Boy later on. May not even bother with Sneak.
And finally, 1 away from Mysterious Stranger in Luck. I may also end up putting a few in here later in the game for help against the tough enemies I can't Intimidate.
Basically, a super smart and charismatic dweller who creates havens for people around the wasteland, but who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty with the blood of raiders if they don't stand down.
I plan on constantly updating my guns and armor so I do max damage and take as little possible, and with the Medic perk maxed out hopefully stims will heal quick in Survival Mode.
I have all 50 level ups designated, but not ordered yet, with some wiggle room of about 5 potential perk levels I'm not sure about.

It is fine in my experience. It was terrible in that one area the framerate thread was based on, but after that it's been very stable for me, even inside other interiors of the same size or larger.
Been playing for 15 hours or so.
Yesterday I spent quite a while trying to figure out a build and something like this might be what I actually go with. Endurance is the worst and CHA/INT the best.
- Status
