Jesus christ, three legendary raiders one after the other! Died like 30 times, finally managed to kill them all. Had to use my only mini-nuke on one of them too.

Can we talk about how ridiculous this timeline is? 200 years have gone by with you in the vault and no one has looted these restaurants or houses? The houses still stand and have paint etc? Trees are still dead and ruined? The art/world is wildly inconsistent.

That sanctuary building... I must avoid it... or 100 hours later I'll still be trying to line those fences and whatnot perfectly.

Just a question that has probably been answered a million times, so sorry in advance.

Just started, but what do I do WITH ALL THIS SHIT!??!

No, seriously. Am I supposed to pick up everything? In FO3, 90% of the shit was garbage that you didn't bother with. But now it seems like all this stuff has uses? It is going to get exhausting picking up every little last scrap of crap.

Second question, I'm on PS4. How do I lift objects? Can't find the button.

Someone can correct me, but all the junk I think is used exclusively for building and crafting. So you can just transfer it all into the workbenches. It may not be necessary, though, as just walking around settlements and scrapping stuff in 'workbench' mode seems to net way more resources.

That's what I've surmised so far, but I may be wrong.

I wonder.

Could you set a Mini Nuke somewhere in the world, and then snipe it and blow it up, using it like a land mine without the need for a Fat Man?

Are we to believe that the radiation poisoning wouldn't kill people, but instead turn them into ghouls? I mean, come on.

Minecraft effect, right there. I was doing the same thing for a long time.

Minecraft is exactly what it made me feel like I was kind of playing, and I don't even play that game at all.

Does anyone know if an energy (radiation?) rifle only gets the bonus from the radiation weapons perk in INT, or if it gets the bonus to rifles from PER (or both)?

can you dismantle items in your inventory or do you have to drop them and then go into the building mode to dismantle each time?

Well if scavenging is a concpet in the FO4 world like it was in the FO3 (which I'm assuming. I haven't played the game) then there's an issue with the consistency of the worldbuilding. It was an issue with FO3 as well.

The ghoul thing has nothing to do with that.

Geez, the game sure doesn't waste any time showering you with guns and ammo...
Seems like every Raider owns at least one double-barreled shotgun. It's weird running around with a minigun, a sniper rifle, some energy-shotgun and power armor after just 4 hours....

Finding myself with a lot of dupe weapons but pretty low on ammo though.

Played about two hours last night.

--Character creator is somewhat limited, but still nice.
--Opening was boring and possibly a little too long; I had zero emotional attachment.
--Game world seems very impressive; tons of details and very dense.
--Performance is superb on my i7 r390x build. 50-60 FPS @ ultra settings (1080p)
--Lighting is very effective. The god rays are very nice looking.

So far so good.

So, just about the exit the vault, can anyone give me any heads up on missable things things right at the start, like Bobbleheads and such?

5.9 user rating on metacritic, and it keeps dropping. Not very good at all, considering fallout 3 has 8.1 and New Vegas has 8.4...

Really might not get this if it's that bad.

A few hours in and I'm already angry at the KB/M controls. I mean, Jesus christ, you need to move your cursor away and back, before you can select something new in the terminals.

Using Tab to go back is weird.

Dialogue options with arrow keys?! But why?

Also, the subtitles aren't working all the time. Missed half of what was said in the first mission :/

Is there any reason I should wait to pick any of these up? I thought I read something about needing to be at level ten or something for some of the stats to take effect.

432,000 people now playing on Steam.

This must surely be a record for a newly released game? I know Dota 2 has hit 1.2 million players and CS:GO over 800,000, but they were during major tournaments where many people idled in-game for special items. Don't think any other game has ever gone over 400k, at least none that I can think of. The thirst is real.

Ill be the first one to rag on a Bethesda game, but why in the world would you trust user reviews not even 24 hours after release?

two stat books are in your old house. Your first bobble head will be found at the concord museum. There is a fusion core in a cave beneath the red rocket place, used for the power armor you will get soon.

The fuck is up with these PC controls? Arrow keys for dialogue? Enter in some places, LAlt in some, sometimes Tab is back but Esc is cancel? What?

Probably best to use a controller, and if the shooting really is improved, that's unfortunate.

Yes, the mouse and keyboard controls feel like the clunkiest for a Bethesda game. In fact, it's so startling familiar to how schizophrenic Windows 8 was in that it couldn't decide if it was for tablets and phones or desktop PCs. The controls make zero sense for PC.

For food you will have to explore outside of your settlement. Just grab every seed, fruit, whatever. Find a place to plant and assign someone to take care of it.

There's actually some right in town on the ground. Mutfruit or something.

Anyone know what's going on with the textures at this place? Seen a couple of posts about it where people have the same issue, others do not. There is also a lot of z-fighting going on and models here like walls that only have 1 normal face (so when you look behind it, it's invisible). Those textures that are like that, when I walk onto it, I fall a little into the world/ground. Anyone know of a fix maybe?

Sweet mother of fuck this
Lexington/Factory
mission took forever lol!! I was not prepared. Early game side mission spoiler
make sure you're prepared for the Factory clearing mission in Lexington. Took me all fucking morning. Like 50 Raiders in that shit. I did find a bobblehead and a comic book though. Totally worth it!

I am sitting at work wondering if my Pip-Boy edition has been delivered to my doorstep yet...

So excited to play. I went with physical for the bonuses, but downloaded the steam preload so I won't have to wait for a download tonight!
