I like the depth of the character creation aspect. Feels like you can almost create a specific look.

Folks - is there a consensus on best storage locker solution yet?
Should I build some kind of storage in one of the early settlements?
Was thinking of using my old home in Sanctuary as my home base, and trying to build a safe, but I'm not sure if that's efficient so early in the game.

that's a nice OT.

anyway, INT gives you more exp gained and the ability to hack computers, nothing else? I'd also like to know if I can somehow hack computers with 1 INT.
(seems like the hacking minigame is the same that F3 and NV had, I honestly loathe that shit)

Agree with the post I saw earlier that I can't find anymore saying the keyboard/mouse controls aren't great...hopefully with some remapping I can fix some of these problems.

- Why is there no Take All option?
- M brings up map but doesn't toggle it away?
- Tab to go back feels weird.. constantly pressing Esc to go back a screen
- Arrow keys for dialogue suckkkk. I hope I can switch this to WASD
- L Alt for grenades sucks too, I need to remap this.
- The settlement interface is soo confusing to me. I am having a hard time just moving around my choices and placing things.

That's frustrating. My wife ran by Target this morning for me, just to see if she could pick any up. Nope. Gone.

Same here. It'd be one thing if people got there first to collect them or drink them (What a crazy concept!), but clearly some were picking them up just to put them on eBay with a nice $97 price increase. I wonder if they even limited the people to 1 bottle each or if some grabbed a bunch at once?

Target and/or Jones clearly didn't put much thought into the demand that something like that would generate.

So you have 21 points at the start. Do all of them go into special or do i have to use some of them for special and some for perks? Kind of confused i wanna be ready when i get home.

Is that a sniper rifle? From Where?

Or if anyone knows where to get a a sniper early on?

Yeah I found it on the top floor of a building in Concord, there was a raider dead on the floor with it laying there, not sure if it may be in your game like that due to the nature of Bethesda games with this, not sure if it was specifically placed like that. Any ways it's called the Pipe Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle. Even if you can't find it and have another rifle of some form, you can modify it to be bolt-action or not, add a scope (there's many types) if you have the materials and a lot of other modifications to make a customised sniper rifle you want.

Still haven't went to Concord, just wondering the immediate area. I really wanna go way of the beaten path, but I'm scared! Playing on Very hard.

The main story reminds me of
Bioshock 2.

Somebody hurt me and stole my baby (little sister), MF's gotts-ta die.

Problem is the other RPG stuff in the way. Why yes I will stop my heroic quest to help you find your lost whatever it is.

Like I said, don't advertise that you can create any kind of character, if you're actually locked into a backstory and a plot that you're stuck with. I don't want to have a son, or a spouse, and I really don't like going from Loving Spouse to Killer in 0-100.

I liked being able to have the freedom to roleplay my own character, not stuck playing as Bethesda's.
I can understand this, after creating my family and having what happen in the vault go down i'm pretty much locked into their character stuck with all the emotions that come with it when i'd hoped to be mutiple personalities through different playthroughs.

Hacking/lockpicking are gated behind novice, advanced, and expert tiers. If you don't have the corresponding perk you can't even interact with the object.

That sucks ugh. If you have prime I'd complain about that honestly.

Thanks for suggesting I complain, the rep compensated me by giving me another month of prime, didn't have any answer as to why it didnt ship like it was suppose to but as compensation goes, this is ok

You can make your own sniper rifle out of most of the calibers that are appropriate. Just take the base gun and add the right attachments for range/optics/accuracy.

This whole building thing looks like it could be horribly addictive. As if these games don't already take long enough. Just spent too long running around scrapping stuff.

Dang, the board is moving fast.

Two questions:
1 - If I got an under-powered pistol that has a grip I want on it, how do I remove that mod to add to another gun?
2 - What are people doing for storage lockers? Thinking of building either a safe or a locker in
my house in Sanctuary.

?!?

Why is it fighting you? It was docile to me.

Crazy, this is why Bethesda games are fun.

One of the Mr. Handyman was doing a demonstration, and then he decides to show off their militaristic model. As soon as it activates, it starts yelling "Death to communist China!" and attacks me, while the rest of the town watches on. After about ten minutes, I kill it, and the one that started everything was just like, "And that concludes our demonstration!"

Lol wow

KB/M controls are atrocious. Unconscionably bad. You left off one of the worst ones:

- Hovering over selections in a terminal after back from a prior screen will not let you select them. Have to mouse off and mouse back over.

Anything bound to left alt is stupid. Waiting for one of those mods like Skyrim that fixed all the console-like controls and inventory management.

Just a question that has probably been answered a million times, so sorry in advance.

Just started, but what do I do WITH ALL THIS SHIT!??!

No, seriously. Am I supposed to pick up everything? In FO3, 90% of the shit was garbage that you didn't bother with. But now it seems like all this stuff has uses? It is going to get exhausting picking up every little last scrap of crap.

Second question, I'm on PS4. How do I lift objects? Can't find the button.

Got to play a little bit on my lunch break on my Vita via remote play and it seems great so far. Haven't got out of the vault yet but I read the terminals and I can see myself spending a lot of time just reading every one I come across throughout the wasteland

If you plan on doing the settlement building stuff, then grab stuff. If not, leave it.

Hold the loot button or X on PS4.

There's a lot more shit in this game. Hoard it, or don't. You don't really need to. Just seek out the shit you like.

Objects can be grabbed by holding the interact button. On PC that's E. I assume it's X or Square on console. Feels much more responsive than before. I actually killed a guy yesterday by throwing a red canister at him and then shooting it. Felt good mayne

420k players on Steam and rising...best Steam debut ever?

edit: 425k...still going up..

I'm sure a lot of people haven't even received their copies in the mail yet and loads more are probably still downloading it due to low DL speeds. The numbers by the end of the day will be interesting.
