These guys are making a play to get into the Premiere, which is being held right there at the TCL + El Capitan on Monday (and maybe even the Dolby Theatre?)
Once it was clear this weekend they were using the Dolby Theatre too (3000 capacity), It was a lock. So much capacity between all three of those giant screening rooms.
This raised a new question for me: I'm going to a run-of-the-mill theater near my house. I'm doing the midnight showing. How insane is it going to be waiting among people going to earlier showings?
Well, I guess it depends on how much getting into the world premiere is worth to you. Wouldn't have been worth it to me, but I guess that was their goal.
That is definitely worth it. Not to me personally but knowing you are watching the movie with the original cast is enough with some. Plus the fact that you are watching it before everyone else.
Nah, not dumb at all. Watching it before everyone else, watching it with the cast, and then going to the private after party? That's totally worth it. You're assuming you had to be there 24 hours a day. You could have been there for a few hours a day and still gotten in or just stayed there one day and gotten in. You only had to be in line for about 24 hours total, not consecutive hours.
Were lining up for the new Star Wars movie, an Australian woman at the front of the queue, Caroline Ritter, told an incredulous-looking couple visiting from Ohio who stopped to inquire and take photos. Yes, we still have a very long time to wait, Ms. Ritter added. No, were not crazy.
