Looking forward to it a lot. But I don't think I will ever really be able to care about all this ultimate team and career mode stuff that ea tries to pimp to me, just want a video of people playing a match.

Edit : like that gamersyde video. Awesome!

Cahill acting like a BOSS in that Aussie cover.

For some reason, I am not feeling it, it seems that the addition will not show itself fuilly while you are playing it for hours and hours. Maybe, you will notice it for the first 3 hours or so, but it win't be a drastic change.

I am thinking of skipping this years one and wait fot next years one....

I'm uncertain whether to get the PC version or the PS3 version.
Every year thus far was an easy choice, but with the PC version getting the same support as the console ones this year... I don't know.
Added pro for the PC is that the modding community can easily add new shirts, or adjust stats... but you can't play with your friends from the couch eh.

I've put god knows how many hundreds of hours in to FIFA 11 since it released. FIFA 12 will take over my life in much the same way.

Menus looked snappier, so that's already an improvement.

The menus are really the worst about fifa. So slow, shitty and annoying. How many times do you even have to press buttons just to get to the team selection for a quick match?

Looks like Fifa wins again.

They sadly don't really have too much competition.

Didn't pick up 10 or 11 cause of all the bugs, picked up PES 2010 and it was fantastic. I'm in the market for a soccer game again and this is one is shaping up to be really nice. I really want to play as the Mexican Primera teams. PES has added a few which is nice, but to run a whole season would be great. As long as I don't hear any horror stories I may end up picking this up over PES 12. EA is done paying me to do QA, I'm not gonna pay them to do it for them.

60fps, 1080p and it will be a tenner cheaper, PC version for me. Will probably pick up the 360 version when it goes sub-£20 for playing mates etc.

Have the leagues been announced? I haven't been keeping up with FIFA the last few years. I've been a PES player.

I disagree. They have a shitload of competition from PES this year. From everything we've read and seen this could be the first real year that EA is challenged (critically). The animations are sexy and the graphics are much improved but the defensive AI in all of the gameplay videos is just plain atrocious. I remain unconvinced that EA has made any improvements to the AI, which IMO is the most important aspect of any sports game.

Hard to tell from the Gamescon footage, but it looks like it plays pretty fast and quite similar to FIFA 11 (not like that is really a bad thing). Just me?

Yea, I know, but I'm assuming they're playing on the default speed which most players will end up playing on.

Skipped all football games last year, so I'm in the market for one this year. FIFA 12 looks good, but PES definitely looks competitive this year.

I'll have to see more from both before I make a decision.

Forgot to include this in the OP:

FIFA 12 will have SLIDERS

These are what were in the July Build we played...
Sliders

One big addition to 12 is the ability to tinker with a limited amount of the games mechanics, below is a list of all the sliders in the game:

These are available to adjust both the User and CPU...

Sprint Speed
Acceleration Speed
Shot Error (normal shots only)
Pass Error
Shot Speed (normal shots only)
Pass Speed
Injury Frequency
Injury Severity
GoalKeeper ability
Positioning: Marking
Positioning: Run Frequency
Positioning: defensive line height
Positioning: defensive line length
Positioning: Defensive line width
Positioning: Fullback Positioning

Source: http://forums.evo-web.co.uk/showpost.php?p=2297310&postcount=2391

I personally feel that those positioning attributes belong to the Team Formation section, so you can adjust them on a per-match basis instead of game-wide =/

is EA sports kidding??messi 95??xavi and iniesta 92??

this doesn't look reasonable at all, 91 for Villa ? 88 for Pique? wtf !!! that's a very big difference in attributes that the previous FIFA games
if they made it that way for barcelona, then it's gonna ruin the game.

anyhow I just cannot wait to put my hands on this game. I'm gonna be addicted to the demo until the final game comes out.

PC version sounded great in that hands-on:
The game not only looked stunning and sharp, but it ran extremely well. I was completely shocked, mainly due previous rubbish that has been shoved under our noses. After a thoroughly enjoyable first match, we eagerly booted up another, once again flabbergasted by the none existent loading times. At this point people who went off to play the console versions had come over to have a look, and were just as amazed as us about how much better the PC version looked and how well it ran.

Yeah EA doesn't want to implement big changes knowing it'll affect their core audience (last I heard, even the new Tactical Defending feature will be switched off for online). I just wish they'd divide the whole game into two modes, Normal (as it is right now) and Simulation.
