XBOX World magazine in UK/Ireland gave fifa 5 stars in their review. They also said when you stop playing like you did in fifa 11 you will have more success, adapting to the new systems ect.

Gamesmaster also had a review but that magazine is in plastic and I have no interest in reading reviews from a magazine that sells its review scores. lets assume its over 90% like ever other one of their fifa reviews.

If I was to take my FIFA 11 disc out of the xbox, it would never play again.

Can you please check one or two things for me, regarding player faces?

1) do suarez and carroll on liverpool have default faces or have they been modeled this year?

2) on man united can you check davide de gea/ashley young and hernandez.

3) does torres still have short hair?

I know I am asking quite a bit but I love having real player faces and it drives me mad that pedro and sanchez on barca dont have real faces. ive been trying to find out about these players for months (i think i seen hernandes earlier in this thread but im not sure if it is him)

anyway i look forward to your impressions and enjoy the game

i like it! needs hud fix but ye, it plays and looks great, even works great in 3D surround with min depth, max convergence

So, is this viewed with a large pair of 3D goggles/helmet or something? Because the screen is deliciously wide, and you can see the entire field. But I imagine it would be hard focusing on the action on the ball because it is a small part of the very large picture?

I'd really like to know about Szczesny and Koscielny. They weren't updated in the demo which is fucking crazy. They actually had their FAKE faces updated, but not to real faces, even though 75% of Arsenal is scanned.

First impressions: as usual more dynamic, smooth and "organic" flow of play than last year. Not really sure how I feel about some things though...

you can't turn on a sixpence? I'm no pro athlete but I can sprint 10 yards and turn pretty damn fast and sprint the other way. I can shimmy left and right very fast.

and in football if you can see someone steaming in and sticking his leg out its the simplest thing in the world to jink past him. its when they stand off and press you that it becomes hard. then you have to wrong foot him to get him off balance in order to out pace him and when you make your move is when he makes his tackle. and if you go to pass he's gonna just stick a leg out and block you unless you go backwards.

of course sometimes you don't react fast enough or you hesitate and he can tackle you easily and that's still true of fifa 12.

I think its important to not just hold down Contain or Jockey too much. Be manual like 80% of the time and apply contain/jockey as if you're swinging a sword or applying the brakes.

Honestly in FIFA 11 sometimes I would go entire games without pressing the press or team mate press buttons because I'd just be running into people and taking the ball off them with the Left stick.

Don't over think it, don't try to play it like the old game.

fair enough, i'm going to give the demo another go but that doesnt address my main concerns. i'm cool with the containing and jockeying when defending within 30 yards of my goal but it's a bit of a piss take doing it further up the pitch. and yes it may be a bit more like real life, but not everything realistic translates well to video games.

a match is 90 minutes, this game is...10 per match? i cannot be arsed with going without the ball for a good minute or more at a time. i don't like how they've deliberately altered the legacy defending as well, so now tackles don't have any conviction and i'm forced to use the new method.

offensive ai is also pretty bad, player runs are terrible and it seems like the only way to score in this game is to skin a defender and leave him for dead. the ai also only ever scores this way against me. i just think they've concentrated too much on dribbling and individual skills and not enough on pass and move - which is what football is really all about.

that being said i don't like the pes demo either, so i'm going to keep at this and see if i change my mind.
