Were they running GG On ps4? Could of swore it was ps3 havent checked up on it as well it doesn't really concern me this year

The rage. It begins.

It is on PS3 for whatever reason. Perhaps in order to ensure they have all the PS4s / PS4 sticks they can get for USF4.

Marvel dropped by almost 300 entrants going from 2013 to 2014 (SF4 and Melee grew). I wouldn't be surprised if it's 4th or lower this year.

Damn... Well lets see what Wizard tells us then once all the logistics are worked out.

Marvel will cut the time involved by just putting Jwong, Fchamp, Flux, Coach, and Cosmos in Top 8.

Why Flux? I would honestly put Cloud instead of Flux, much more hype player plus his Dante is one of the best, if not, the best.

I really hope Sm4sh doesn't get booed for taking a little while longerwhen top 8 is happening. Has Wizard mentioned anything about stocks and time limit? 2 stocks and 4-5 minutes might be the most reasonable way to not prolong EVO.

What if Guilty Gear Xrd is the anime game with most entrants this year.
What will happen then.

It'll still be behind 4 other games lol

Getting my Yata beta key two days after UNIEL is too cruel. On the other hand, it ensures that I can be patient in waiting for a sale on KOF02UM.

Marvel 3 will possibly be the 3rd game. First will be SF, then Melee, then Marvel. Unless Nintendo puts up a good amount of money for a pot prize, I don't see Sm4sh getting in the top 3, maybe top 5. Besides, Marvel deserves to be in the Sunday slot. Its still been one of the highest viewed games for EVO two years in a row if I'm not mistaken, you can't beat those numbers.

Eh, I'm not talking about Sunday finals, even though Gods Beard mentioned the view numbers during that time. I'm talking about when the main stage/main stream is occupied when they aren't doing top 8s for a game. It's usually quarter finals/semi finals/pools of the two biggest games. Originally this privilege was only SF4 and every match in top 32 was streamed. But after Marvel 3 came out, it's been about sharing. SF4 evo champions get eliminated off stream so we get to see the 5th runback of Apologyman vs Fchamp.

If Melee is legitimately bigger than Marvel this year then they deserve that exposure. It's only fair.

I wholeheartedly agree. Melee has shown time and time again that it has a very boisterous and passionate community that deserves the spotlight many other main FGC-centric streams have not been giving them. Only issue is wouldn't delegating that be a nightmare since you need gamecube's and CRTV's on the main stage to then replace them for PS4's and those ASUS monitors (if they are using those) to then play SFIV? That sounds like a nightmare within itself unless they have the space to have both up on the main stage, which I wouldn't honestly know. Also, the same issue may arise with Marvel since it's played on 360's, which would be another nightmare to delegate. MrWizard sure has it rough this year lol, not to mention that there are gonna be arcade machines at EVO this year, even though they'll probably be at its own booth.

If it's ahead of Marvel, it'll likely be 4th.

Don't get ahead of yourself, Xrd is godlike but Mahvel is MAHVEL BABEH

This is my expectation.

SFIV
Smash 4
Smash Melee
UMvC3

Melee will be #2 this year for sure based on its growth, Marvel's decline, and the fact that Melee did a lot more entrants than Smash 4 at Apex. What I'm not sure of is whether Smash 4 or Marvel will be 3rd.

I think Smash 4 will be 3rd, but I also think that Apex isn't necessarily representative of Evo numbers.

I hope the actual stream schedule goes:

Xrd
Marvel
Smash 4
SFIV

I think Nintendo will be unhappy if Melee gets the spotlight.
Fightan games should definitely have more alternate win conditions.
It'll be like Robot Wars where you can activate the pit and push your opponent in.

Alternative: Catch the golden snitch.

I'm cool with any stream schedule as long as SF4 doesn't start at fucking 2AM like the last 2 years.

I went to work the next day for those two summers, 4 hours of sleep is not the way to go and I hope the tournament doesn't stream until 1 am EST.

The Beta version is one version before Arcade version (final PC release will be the Arcade version).

Some sprites are missing, the netcode is still old (no GGPO yet), and balance changes may have been made from Beta->Arcade(speculation).

Why don't they use arcade sprites if it's supposed to be the arcade version? o_O
As far as I understand the original project was to make a new version of Yata, not just catch up a PC release to an existing arcade one.

Try 4AM. 100% impossible to watch if you have work on Monday. I must really thank Ultra for making that less painful.

Killer Instinct

Tekken 7 is a great way to start Sunday. It'll be new, so it may not have a huge representation, but people will be interested and it'll start things off well.

Otherwise I'd aim to get the joke games out of the way on Friday... with UMvC3 slipping into Saturday for the sake of scheduling.

Man melee community def deserves the spotlight and they will certainly bring in huge numbers but I can't watch like a 3 hour top 8 of that game...Gonna skip that.

As far as I understand the original project was to make a new version of Yata, not just catch up a PC release to an existing arcade one.

The "Beta" came out -before- the arcade version -that came out a week ago-. The current arcade version of AoC is the finished build that we are getting a PC port of.

The Beta as it is was completed a few months ago. In that time they've worked on finishing up the art (the missing sprites for Azure and Aja) and porting to Nesica. Next they need to implement GGPO and finish translation for the final product.

99% of my thousands of PMs are from someone at 3 in the morning. I can check. Will probably be there unless I deleted before the 10k limit was in place. Anyway since you're not collecting now no worries.

I think there's a very real chance that UMvC3 is in the bottom half of registrants at Evo -- there's a very real chance that GGXrd outdraws it if trends at regional tournaments are any indication.

One of Mr. Wizard's most anticipated things about EVO 2015 is Marvel, so I have a hard time imagining it happening on Saturday. I'd bet it on it being next to last on Sunday and getting the highest viewer count again this year, actually.

EVO's five months away, Xrd will have cooled off majorly by then. Staying power in FG's is super rare.

I think Wizard said that there would only be one Smash game on Sunday, so Melee will probably be on Saturday. That's fine MIO.

Smash 4 on Sunday and Melee on Saturday works fine IMO. Melee could be the big show for the evening and all the melee fans could get the seats up front for it.

I see. Thanks for the clarifications.

I highly doubt this, I don't think Marvel has declined that much....yet

Xrd gets into Sunday because it's new this year and has ASW/Aksys backing it.
MKX gets into Sunday because it's new this year and has Warner Bros. backing it.
Smash 4 gets into Sunday because it's new this year and has Nintendo backing it.
Melee gets into Sunday because despite being 15 years old, its community is large, its turnout is increasing, and it will likely have the 2nd most entrants.
USF4 gets into Sunday because it's the most popular Evo game and has Capcom backing it.
Tekken 7 may get into Sunday because it's new this year and has Namco backing it, only reason it won't is due to it being on arcade cabs and not on consoles or available at all in the US yet.

Unless Evo decides to try to squeeze in six or more Top 8s on Sunday like in 2012 (and even then one of those was a Top 4), I'm not expecting a three year-old game with a declining player base and nonexistent publisher support to make it.

Edit: I forgot that Wiz said he'd only do one Smash game on Sunday. In that case, I think Marvel probably will be on Sunday, but I don't think it will be the second-to-last game as it has been the last 4 years.

I wouldn't worry about Marvel entrant numbers at all - if anything, there are newer plus greater-improved players this year over last year.

And Marvel didn't have one of the highest views of the last few years, it had the highest viewers of the last few years straight period.
