This is why I think the pro tennis/golf analogy is closer. The event organizers themselves aren't directly trying to hawk the game being played (as far as I know at least), they have to find other, less nebulous means of being profitable. I guess WSOP is also in a similar situation.

Capcom had a genius idea with H&H but they squandered that shit like they did with MVC3 as a whole.

If they still had the license Capcom would've been making continuous updates with costumes and new H&H cards plus special H&H events. They could've had an excellent revenue stream.

Instead we have games like Marvel Heroes raking in the profit because they had the foresight to sign a long term contract.

Basically it looks like some TOs (at the very least SFO and MBA, but I'd put VS Scotland, BSC/TFC and ED on that list knowing the TO community but they'll need confirming) have decided that they want an anti-nastiness front. So far the only person I know who has been sanctioned is a member of the Liverpool scene, who is now barred from entering SFO's Rival Scenes 3 in two weeks.

EDIT: Yup, Hadoshrooms just confirmed that the Newcastle scene is part of the anti-hate group. And Affro is including VS Scotland.

I'm so mad I never got JUS. I bought JSS, JUS was announced shortly after. Was thinking about passing on it until a third game and buy it.

KOF13 gives more meter (both super and drive) for blocking than the attacker gets for his blocked attack. Of course this is tempered by high-low mixups being really accessible and guard crush being a thing. So you need to do something quick, but can maybe get the meter to get out of dodge with proper blocks.

The things making big money, are made and supported by companies that designed them to make big money and actually knew what they are doing.

The current hope is that Capcom figures out what they should be doing. This seems unlikely so the real hope is Valve or Blizzard make a fighting game.

Then all bets are off.

Blizzard doesn't know what they are doing. Not RTS wise, anyway. Though considering that many of the new and betaed units for Heart of the Swarm were more like MOBA heroes than what I consider a good Starcraft unit design, there may be some hope on that front. I don't like Blizz's new aesthetics, though. Feels like WoW invaded Diablo and Starcraft.

That's why I quit league. I figured that if I lost, I wanted the blame to rest solely on me for not getting gud. It's not really a popular mindset, but it works out okay

Fighting games + that tierwhoring life = This. I can only blame myself for my losses. Which are maaany. Need to play more, force myself a bit if I have to, and just fo those this game I AA jumps stuff. So much stuff I know but don't know.

What fighters has everyone been playing recently, and what are you likely to be playing going forward? A month back and a month 3. I've been on BB when I haven't been playing the Zelda musou, with a little DOA mixed in. Even though Dengeki and Smash are within a month, Nano is next month so I'll probably only be annoying Disco with Plat sporadically.
