I guess wait 10 more days but that's definitely lost altho you'll need to wait 30 days before USPS lets you file a claim, iirc. I recommend going to your local post office or the main one in your area and ask about it in person and see if that helps. Doing anything by phone is usually worthless from my experience.

I had a registered SAL package that was located at my local post but after waiting a week, I went to my local post and it was in one of their bins. Apparently, they just left it there without trying to redeliver it. I wasn't in the mood to argue with them or even telling the postmaster. I just wanted my package.

So if you're lucky, you'll find it sitting in your local post office.

Do postal services in other countries stick extra charges on import fees as well? I just got an order (wasn't a figure) and I was charged €15 when the order itself only came to €37, I mean seriously. I don't know if it's just my postal service or if others like Royal Mail or USPS do this too with imports that get caught, can anyone tell me? I think I might just go with the courier services from now on, I mean I'm being charged an extra fee that doesn't even have a description, it sounds like I'm paying them so they can pick up money from me at the door, wtf. At least with services like Fedex this doesn't happen and I get billed so I have like a month to pay.

Yeah we have that here too: once the total order exceeds a certain amount, they start charging. They charge a flat handling fee depending on the type of shipment (so if it's something slow it's roughly 20 USD but if it's something fast it's double that). So in total you have the flat fee + 8% consumption tax + some other BS tax which has shit all to do with anything. It's awful.

You should definitely check your country's regulations in that regard so that you can contest any wrongly charged taxes, it happens sometimes.

My EMS package from Mandarake hasn't had an update in 20 days. I'm a little bit more than slightly concerned now. Especially when I've had three separate phone calls tell me the package hasn't left Japan yet. The tracking site clearly shows that it arrived in the US and then nothing.

Is it stuck in like New York? Sorting facility? If so, it might be stuck in customs.

Last tracking update was in Chicago, which is usually where my packages go through customs yet. The only odd thing is that USPS reps on the phone and in person are telling me that the package is still in Japan. So who the fuck knows where it is. Luckily these two aren't exactly in short supply on Mandarake so hopefully they offer me store credit like last time. Still have to wait about ten more days though since I don't think they'll offer it until the package is for sure lost.

I heard Nippon Yassan offers shipment within Europe that is guaranteed tax free. Is that true? Because in that case I'm switching to them. AmiAmi doesn't let me cancel my order, but I could probably e-mail them right?

I think N-Y does mark down. I know that Big in Japan does for sure. Personally, I've had bad experiences with N-Y, but the majority of members here I think will have good things to say about them.

AmiAmi will probably let you go with one cancellation, no problem. They do ban you if you cancel too much, but it doesn't sound like that would be an issue for you anyways.

Got my first figure in the mail yesterday, the 1/8 Dizzy by Alter. It was listed on Mandarake as opened and having little damage on the box. The only damage I could find was that the top flap was slightly bent, I guess a pristine box would really increase a figure's value so even small things like that have an effect. Here's a pic taken with my bad cellphone camera with bad lighting:

I didn't know that Mandarake marks prices lower than actual even on EMS shipments unless real values are requested by the customer. That could cause issues dealing with shipment insurance if the contents are damaged.

I'm hoping that I can simply order from Amazon.jp. I know they have no problem shipping some items Internationally, but I'm not sure if figures are included in that. If not, I could always use a proxy.
