Burn through all the free coin offers first.

Then you'll get addicted to stickers and start thinking about actually spending money on more.

Thanks! Unfortunately the free coin spot isn't there on my phone. :( I'll probably buy those Utena stickers and then make do with the free ones.

Here's a topic for you guys. Do you still have the same tastes in figures that you had when you started?

When I first began looking into figure collecting, I was really impressed with the detail and quality of scales. My first big investment was Alter's complete K-On! line, and I seriously love it. Now, however, having purchased many types of figures, and gotten hands on experience with them, I find myself losing interest in scales. I much more enjoy Nendos, Figmas, and other pose-able figures.

So do you guys still have the same purchasing habits? Do you favor one category over another, or has another product line stolen your heart?

I blame scales taking up too much space XD

I used to like pose-able ones when I realised I couldn't be bothered to pose my figures XD

Kind leaning towards scales, and nendos over figmas. Still got several figma's on preorder.

Also kind of being more open to lewd figure. I have one on prerorder.

Nendos for life. Since the beginning.

I used to grab scales I liked, but now it's only Elins and Vocaloids.

It's definitely getting more lewd, and more scale figs. I started with figmas and now my display is predominantly scaled stuff.

How much time should I give MH4? I don't mind the slower gameplay, but the camera controls are killing me.

Learn to love the monster cam, or get a CPP or n3DS. Be glad there are no underwater fights in this one.

My first figures were Saber Triumphant and MegaHouse's Rider so scales have always had my attention. Coming into this hobby I would seriously hate on nendos, a buddy of mine started collecting before I did and I always mocked him for it. Now I just want more of them, it was nendo Link and Gilgamesh that tipped me over. I cut down on figmas a lot, only ones that will be bought now are video game IPs that I like and Berserk figmas.

I've gotten Nendoer.

Came for the scales, still here for the scales, mainly. I'm a recent nendo convert, but a nice scale still brings me more joy than a nendo. However, I'm kind of picky about my scale figures... it's so easy to say no to so many scale figures because what you see is what you get so if the pose isn't something I like or the face looks off or whatever, then even if it's a character or design I otherwise like I'm less likely to buy it. I'm less picky about nendos, partly for cost and partly the interchangability means there's no single pose or face you're stuck with (and nendos hide their joints pretty well, which is one thing I don't like about figma, though some figma are better at it than others).

My tastes changed a bit, I started with scales, but now I collect small figures and figmas. I still like scales, but the price is just too high for me right now.

Before, I could buy one figure for months and it would be enough, now I see dozens of small figures that I would like getting released in the same month, so big ones are out of reach.

Pretty much the same. I already had at least some interests in plushies, figmas, and nendoroids, and those I still only really collect outside of rare occasions. This community pretty much made the last push into nendoroids for me through. I prefer not to look into scale figures much really as much nice as many of them are.

Haven't been collecting for long but I'm mostly into scales still, they were what first got me wanting to collect. I really love the detailed sculpts. Sculpture is rad. I guess prize figures go in with them too. There's such a large variety of them.

Getting more into figmas now though, I really like playing around with the poses on the Ryuko figma I have. Decided to go for the K-On figma set over the Nendos.

I like Nendos for certain characters. The Mako nendo is ace and I think I would have gotten it even if their were other options for her. I'm just not that into chibi stuff. I appreciate them for what they are but I'm still not super into them.

I started all about figmas. Only figmas. Then I got some Nendos. Then a handful of prize figures (K-on is a hell of a gateway drug for new kinds of figures), and now I've got my second scale on the way.

Still pretty new to this but I really like scales. Nendos are cool but not much I want in them and I really want to get more Figmas. I like the sets you can get for Figmas and want to build scenes And photograph them.

This is my endgame for sticking to Nendos. Though I see myself possibly getting scales in the future, the general quality level and ability to swap parts out at a compact size is why I ended up getting attached to nendos first. I like that general level of consistency that I don't see from most scale collections(though I can't blame people for that, there's a lot of neat stuff at varying size factors you may never see in another size).

I've considered some of the other similar lines like Figmas, Parform, __chus, etc., but the biggest strike against them is that I went with Nendos first, haha.

This is why I decided to go with K-On figmas over Nendos. The extra articulation should make cool scenes super fun to put together.

Nah my tastes have stayed pretty much the same. Scales have been my mainstays and they continue to be the type of figures I collect the most. I do have two Nendos, two Sideshow statues (with two more on the way), and a figma, but that's it as far as non-scales go.

My very first figure was a race queen Rei... I was actually on a high school trip to Japan, and that was one of the things I bought (I was in a casino that was literally themed after Evangelion... I had to buy something!). Eva was my favorite show, so that's why I got her. BUT, Asuka is my favorite of the two, so once I started having an income, I bought me an Asuka figure. And then I'd buy a Rei to match. And then an Asuka to balance it out, and now I have 4 Rei's and 3 Asuka's (I had a fourth, but... it was cold cast. :()

So I started off *only* getting figures because of who they were. But, I've noticed that at this point I have 3 figures that I don't even know what show they are from, and am most interested in two that are from shows I've never seen. So while it's mostly characters I know and like (Dark Magician Girl whooo), I'm branching out into "I'm getting this because I like it". Also lewder. Kinda.

Lol, Shirobako 20 dammit. I say I don't buy boring figures but fuck it, if a figure of Diesel-san comes out, I very well may buy it. Shes the fucking best.

The Settin channel has been all lewd all the time.

My endgame is to create my own figures, GK Pokemon Trainers everywhere.

Mine is similar to yours. Last month I come across a model-making competition held by a Chinese model-maker forum, one of the champions self-made a tank from StarCraft II (Link, everything in Chinese). I was blown away and wish to create sth one day. Right now I am building and painting my Gunpla and GK recast, wish I will reach that level in the future.

Wow, that looks awesome. Good luck on your quest, I'll be training hard here to achieve mine.

Welcome! Sent you an MFC friend request.

Thanks! Accepted.

Yeah, it was my first time importing from them but I had no issues. And for more on the setup, see the link above!

Yeah no problems here either and great article about how you made your detolf setup!

On a different note I won an auction for a brand new sealed Momohime for $126, cheaper then ive seen it many places, can finally add this beauty to my collection ^_^ Though because I bough her I expect Alter to announce a rerelease in 2 months just like when I bought Luke for 20k yen and 2 months later then announce a rerelease X_X
