Now you just made me want a figure of this.Not technically figure-related [I know], but considering this artist has a couple figures being released based off of his works, I felt it was relatable.
So Oda Non is getting his first artbook. Finally! Unfortunately, it seems like it's an exclusive in Japan, and an 18+ one at that [given his art, that's not entirely surprising]. Still, I love his artstyle. He draws more..."mature" characters, such as the one pictured below.
Amazon Japan has the pre-order available, but won't ship outside Japan [due to the 18+ nature of it]. I could always use BIJ as a proxy...
I'm tempted. It's 2,700 yen, and a Limited Edition artbook at that.
Booo both that and my sakura Miku nendo, both delayed.

I don't know who she is but thats an adorable figure.

Yeah, I couldn't resist. I used BIJ as a proxy/forward and pre-ordered the Melonbooks-exclusive version a few hours ago. It comes with an exclusive tapestry and a 16-page art book. It's already sold out once [since going up a week or so ago], but they made more orders available a short while ago. It cost me something like...5,500 yen, which isn't too bad, considering the tapestry is supposedly pretty massive [and lewd].
It was either between that or the Toranoana-exclusive version, but I liked the tapestry image for Melonbooks slightly more.

Wow, GSC got back to me... all three orders cancelled, and my account remains. The reply clearly states any further cancellation requests may incur account suspension, but I'm stunned they've held off from fully terminating my account. Perhaps a couple of years' worth of order history helped my case? Not to mention that I politely explained the (genuine) reason why I was making the request in the first place. I understand their stance for being militant on cancellations, but it's great that they are actually understanding of individual circumstances.
I'm under no illusion that this is nothing more than a one-time deal, which I will show GSC mutual respect by ordering only what I 100% intend to buy in future.

Something needs to change. I daresay a lot of sites probably spend most of their time having to deal with cancellations as it is - why not implement a less stringent approach for long-standing customers by default? I don't operate a business so it's just armchair criticism from me, but I do feel there must be another way to do it.
Me too. Definitely takes a weight off my mind knowing that I don't need to deal with these orders as and when they come up later in the year, or be sad that GSC would no longer accept my business. It's all a far cry from my experience with Nippon Yasan, that's for sure.
