Talking about currency, I've been cutting down my food expenses too and eat more oatmeals and cereals lol.

Really really hope I can land a full-time job in Singapore and earn in SGD.

All before shipping too, so now you and everyone can feel better :D

Good job, now you made me look how much I'm spending in the next months, and that's only if the Euro doesn't go any lower and the yen goes up. Fortunately half of this is already paid in full...

May - 1430 Euros (because not a single figure releasing in April has actually released...)
June - 640 Euros
July - 470 Euros
August - 610 Euros
September - 1190 Euros
October - Yay, nothing to see here!!
November - 620 Euros

Damn, I'm starting to regret getting so many Sideshow statues.

Gotta fix that:

I'm sure you guys seem enough pictures of this one, but here's my most recent pick up, was planning this to be my first pick up in Japan but ended up being my fourth one somehow.

Just sent payment for an Akaza Akari nendo on Mandarake. I look forward to receiving my seemingly empty box.

In other news my Sony a5000 just got shipped and will arrive on Monday. I had tried cancelling it but it was already marked as preparing for shipment. I may return it but I haven’t decided yet. A month ago I stopped playing video games because they caused me self-esteem issues, and now photography appears to have brought these same feelings back, so I think I’ll have to give up on that as well, at least for now.

I wish I had pre-ordered Marika Nendoroid, guess I'll try my luck on the local stores on the day of her release.

I'd try to consult a specialist for that, giving up on things will probably just exacerbate the problem. Hope things get better for you.

I hope that with the remastered Trails in the Sky game, FC Evolution, we get new figures that aren't nendoroids. (As much as I love my nendo Estelle.)

Got a quick question here about SAL and the dock workers strike. I ordered something on April 1st and it still says that it's in Japan

zUdewU3.png

I've ordered things over SAL before and it's usually about 2 weeks or so before it leaves Japan, so I'm wondering if this has to do with the dock worker's strike (which is also keeping my Juri Bishojuo at Anime Island instead of with me) holding it up, if SAL is just ultra slow sometimes, of if I need to contact someone? If so, who?

sometimes it just takes a super long time. the strike shouldn't effect it since I have gotton things in 2 weeks time.

Nendo Estelle is love. I need her.
Yeah, everything about her is great, besides the comically loose arms and hands. It took me a half-hour or so to get the arms to stay on while getting a good fighting pose. Worth it.

I just realized that I never played a Metroid game...I guess I shouldn't start with this Other M.

These guys are too good.

The dock strikes absolutely affect things. If yours got to you within 2 weeks, it went by air. If it's going by boat well..

Transit time via ship from Japan to the West Coast is about 2 weeks.

From what I understand most single orders do go by air. The one from Island would be delayed because usually items being shipped to stores go by boat.

Pretty much that. Some stores do offer you to ship via ship but the transit time is lol

Stores in the US order batches at once so it makes more sense to get them via ship instead of getting like 50 nendos in one giant box via air

SAL is pretty much they'll get to it when they can. They'll unload and move more important shipments while it sits there in a warehouse. They'll eventually get to it though.

I don't remember if it was Shadow or Omlet that had a Sal that was a 2 month transit time.

SAL should always be by air. There is a separate boat class of shipping.
This is what Surface Air Lift means. SAL just takes long because it is very low priority freight so it gets heavily affected by traffic.

All of my orders come by boat. It may get to the Military shipping hub by plane, but it's then sent over on a boat (If it's too large for their air freight).

Sometimes I forget you guys don't have that filter on your mail.

*YES*!

I found my Figma Samus's accessories. Thought I'd lost these. Instead, I had just stuck them on a high shelf, underneath the box. X_x

EDIT: So I've decided I'll focus on Nintendo figures for now.

So far, I've got:
Link Figma
Link Nendoroid
Samus Figma
ZSS Scale
Figuarts Mario

I've got Lucina Figma preordered.

I'm wanting:
Tharja Scale (this is gonna be hard)
Princess Bitch (Just cuz)
MAYBE Figuarts Luigi (Low priority though)

Any other good must haves in the Nintendo category?

I just read the page with the waifu war. Terrifying. Y'all need Jesus/Allah/Yahwe/whatever deity you believe in and save your soul from those waifu demons.

Yeah, I had nothing to do with that one.

All before shipping too, so now you and everyone can feel better :D

Have a nice June! :D

I would definitely get Princess Bitch. She's a great figure. Also, I'm pretty sure Figuarts Luigi can be found in the US any time you want. I see him at Barnes & Noble all the time.

I've had 45 day SAL some times and I've had SAL missing for 3+ before it got back to Japan getting the item 6 months later. (AmiAmi actually refused to refund shipping for that and it was Registered SAL and then told me refund on item or pay for shipping again to get it)

Unless there's a strike in Japan, there's no reason it'll have any effect on stuff that gets sent by air.

When the West Coast port strike was going on, my 7 Sins Satan took a month to arrive via EMS, when it normally takes 4 days.

I'll probably keep the camera but wait a month before even taking it out of its packaging, just so I jump into it with a fresh mind. I'm just not feeling it right now.

Woahwoahwoahwoahwoah how did I miss this?

Keep the camera.
There's no need for self esteem issues with something you're learning! Especially before you get your tools.

Photography isn't about "who's better" or "who's got the better camera" or any of that. And most importantly, it's not about letting yourself get down over it. It's about capturing images that *you* like. That's the most important thing! Period! And the cool thing? The more photos you take, the more you'll know what *you* like! Photography is a hobby where the primary barrier is the equipment, not the art itself. There's stuff to learn, but outside of sports photography, you have as long as you need to get whatever shot you want.

Here's the great thing about photography, and is really something I should have touched on in my tutorial (I may update it now): In particular with figures, you have an infinite number of attempts. The important part, is to use that fact to your advantage. I have taken THOUSANDS of photos. Thousands. I think there's maybe... 200? Or so that people have ever actually seen. The trick is to take as many pictures of something as you possibly can, and then, get rid of 95% of them. Keep only the best. Literally, spray and pray with your camera, and get rid of any "crap" photos. It doesn't take long before you start *knowing* where the right shot is! Especially with figures, since they'll just sit there and wait for you :)

Guess what: I still take lots of crap shots. There's still lots of times where I take a random photo, I look at it, and just immediately know it's crap. I've only been doing photography for about half a year now. I think it was last Fall when I got my camera. Compare this to painting, or drawing, or video games, and there's a huge gulf in the amount of time it takes to learn those (well) compared to photography.

And you know the great part? I deleted all the photos I had those first two or three months, because they weren't anywhere near what I take now. Trust me, it's a very quick hobby to learn.

And most importantly: remember it's completely subjective. Take the photos you like. Are there professional photographers out there who will just flat out take a "better" photo than you? Yeah. But there's a HUGE satisfaction when you start using your own photos as your wallpapers on your devices, and people start asking where you found the picture. :)

To add a bit to what H3XAntiStyle just said, majority of people you competing with, if there's even a "competition", are taking photo with their Ipad. So don't worry too much about being bad, you will at least be above average compare to people that did zero research. People are lazy that way, I learn that from playing fighting game and moba.

I have the same problem when it comes with building models. It suck spending 4 months on something just to end up with something mediocre. Or spending 4 hours a day for 7 years on Blazblue/cvs2/SC4 just to lose after 2 matches in tourney (it hurts just to type this sentence). Things will mellow out as you get older, like how I eventually ended up.

Now I just learn to enjoy the learning process, it is not often you find something you enjoy "studying" about, might as well take the chance to enrich yourself. If you found it hard to convince yourself, just scream "yolo" and do it. The first step is always the most difficult, so take your time, I watch modeling video for 2 years before finally getting my airbrush and first gunpla.

Unlike video game, "Good" is very subjective btw:

Looks like everything else from my April order (Ayesha, Nanami, Kurumi Tokisaki) got in-stock, still waiting for that Dark Magician Girl reprint to get in-stock or slip to next month.

Looks like they haven't separated out Luke to May yet, still combined in my April order.

It is the greatest figure ever. Adorable, and sexy! Absolutely love her, and she's never leaving my desk.

GSC Ultimate Madoka for 17k. Should I?
She's a great figure, but keep in-mind the cost associated with shipping her. Unless that's including shipping, in which case it's a pretty great deal.

Her price really increased a lot. I remember when she was initially released she was bargain-binned everywhere. How things change...
