Is it worth using trust moogles on Zidane or Lud? When do you want to use them? Any special times or anything to save them for?

You would want to use them on a unit in which:

-- Their TM is of very high value to obtain
-- You only have 1 of that unit (or you are not willing to sacrifice at least 1 dupe to speed up the TM process).
-- You want to obtain that TM faster.

Zidane and Ludmille likely fall into that second category, where you don't really want give sacrifice a potential dual wield/cast. So, either of them are good choices for a Trust Moogle.

Yeah, they're worth it. You can use them whenever you want. I usually just save them until I get enough to do so. There will be later TMs that are the equivalent or better (i.e. gives DW and DC) than Zidane and Lud's TMs but those won't be for awhile.

Thanks Chillz

Man... Loving Ramza 6 star so far. Still wish I would have snagged second wind but not super neccesary

His breaks last 5 turns and you can synergize that with Heros Rime. Pretty decent combination as far as support

I do hope exclusive materias are available again in some other event or something. They need to make an event dungeon that can randomly drop legacy items and special summon tickets for event exclusive units or something

Seems silly to lock out content permanently

Who should I believe?!

Hopefully the latter because I sold all of my extras as well.

Are you able to bring companions on future trial bosses? They had it for Int but not for Dino. But those release orders were flip flopped in global so I don't know what to make of it

I think this past two week has killed my drive for this game. It's fun, but I just can't really bring myself to even do the events or daily quests. Doesn't help that my drops this banner have been: Kain, Clyne, Kain, Penelo, Cyan, Vivi

I'm in same boat. I know someone said bad streaks, but it's really more than that. It's rare to get anything worthwhile on daily pulls. Even with nice banners. My frustration has been awful pulls as well. I just do dailies but haven't been as gung ho about doing things much after like I have been. When you're handing shit on a plate for days, and know tomorrow will be same, it's just not fun.

It's actually bad when I now dread daily pulls. Because it's usually going to be the same thing. My horrible luck of not getting tanks/a Full Breaker on my main is frustrating as hell.

Yesterday my main got Clyne and today it got Maria. My alt account tends to fair a bit better. Few days ago got Cecil (why?! ;_;) Yesterday it got Charlotte. Fffffff. Today it got Fran. At least I have tank choices on my alt. Does remind me I have to put together a new team than what I have now.

I guess on main I could use tickets and pray for Cecil. But that's all I'd be doing. Praying. I could spend all 30 and get all Vivi's and Penelo's. Just saving up tickets for the good events coming up soon though.

That was me.

Let's expand on this a bit.

Right now, the expectation is that most pulls will be garbage. 70% of pulls will be off-banner, and realistically only 10% of that total will be a decent off-banner pull. So, 3 in 5 pulls will generally be misses. Worse streaks are definitely possible. If it were possible to get everything via free pulls, there would be no reason to ever spend money in the game.

Gumi is in this to make money. The rates will always be rigged against the player. Gachas are casinos. Every now and then, the player will win. But, the vast majority of the time, they will lose no matter how many free pulls are granted to them.

My stance is that I always expect daily pulls to be garbage. If I get better than garbage, then I am pleasantly surprised. If I get expected garbage, I shrug and move on. If you are expecting most pulls to be great all the time and frown every time Vivi, Lani, or Shadow show up, then you are going to get burnt out very, very fast.

Gambling.... is gambling. No matter whether on this banner for Cecil, or later on for Orlandu, Tillith, Tidus, Setzer, or anyone else. The rules of the reality of the situation will never change, no matter when you pull next.

Now, in terms of Cecil for the main account, my **personal opinion** would be to throw tickets at this. I very strongly doubt that there will ever be a situation where there will be a 10% chance to pull a 6* tank that is still considered to be top-tier many months down the road. Is it possible to burn the bank account and shred all of your tickets and still not get Cecil? Sure. That's gambling. Anything's possible, good or bad.

But, if you truly need a quality tank for your team, it's now or almost never. Most strong tanks down the road are 4* base or higher, meaning that your draw chances are going to be in the low single digits at best for them and will much more likely end in failure.

Finally finished levelling up Agrias, Ramza and Lenna. Now I wait for the next event to get the rest of the materials I need to awaken Ramza.

Gonna leave my trust mastery grinding on all day until then

Finally started doing overnight TM farming. I'm getting about 1.5% a night. Not great, but it's NRG neutral and I wouldn't be normally getting that much per day, so it's a start.

The way I figure it, I still have to:

- Level DK Cecil to 80
- Get all of his 6* mats
- Level him to 100 again

So by that time, at 1.5% a night, I should be super close to having both barrage and dual wield. If I get another Trust Moogle for the halloween event, I will be done with Dual Wield within the month. When it all comes together, he's going to be a suicidal beast.

The best part, though, is that by having Barrage, he will be able to deal the same damage as his big 49% HP drain attack on a single targets, since they both equal out to 3.2x modifiers.

I'm thinking of which TM's would be the most beneficial past that to make him even stronger. Probably Excalibur, Blade Mastery, that high damage Katana from Miyuki, and then maybe Fencer's TM for his last slot. I can't think of anything that I have right now that would be better than that setup.

Well said Lyrian!

I spent way too much on this game trying to go for Lightning, was quite embarrassin. Didn't get her in the end, but kind of glad in a way, as now I'm happy with doing daily pulls and seeing what my luck is like. Helps that I do have a fairly decent(ish) team though. But yeah I totally see what you mean.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I know it's gambling. But at this point I refuse to spend money just because they didn't explain how this FB linking stuff works and it got connected to a crap game. Now I can't connect it to my profile at all. So if something happens to my game, I'm screwed. Because of that, I now refuse to spend any money. Because if I lose total access, I've thrown away money.
Their whole system is a pile of shit. Their customer service is just as bad.

At this point though, I've no real chance. I can literally spend 1k on this game and still not get Cecil. Despite him being 3 star. I could spend all 30 of my tickets and still not get him. Yeah, it's gambling. But it's not really fun gambling at this point. I feel like things need to get changed to the Japanese system. I have an awful feeling they won't change it that way here though. Because reasons.

Problem is, there are some gambling things that are fun and feel like you are going to get something good out of it. This game isn't one of them.

My 377 magic Ramza does roughly 2x hyperdrive dmg with Ultima, and considering that's aoe damage, I consider him my strongest mage in my extended mage arsenal(3x Kefka, 3x Exdteah, 3xTerra, 3xTellah, Golbez, Krile, etc). I'll also have my first 2 30% mag done this week and that will likely push him well over 400 magic, can't wait for that :)

People on Reddit suggest running Cecil and Lenna on wolfsfsng peak exploration to grind LB and then exiting to the secret village to avoid a boss fight....

Problem is that I do that it triggers a boss fight and wrecks Cecil and lenna. Any help???

Bad streaks happen. Kinda have to suck it up and try to brush them off. I've already had 2 major bad luck streaks since launch. Karma will come back around on a future banner.

It's not even the streak. I got lucky with the FB banner that I got all the ones on there, so I've had good streaks too.

I dunno, I just feel like I've hit a wall. *shrug*

I managed to play a bit today at least, finished PRO Bab-il and the daily quests and a bunch of smaller quests.

Who should I believe?!

Well, what I said is true, no event was repeated in the Japanese version, now you either trust Gumi to do it or nah.
Keep in mind that units are released faster here, banner last 7 days but are a little bit longer in Japan (should be 9/10 days), so Gumi is giving us exclusive events like Gravity Rod or Mog Cakes.

Cecil 6* is maxed. In the end it was easier than I thought. Now I can completely focus on TM farming until the next event.

I'm glad about the FF XI event in Japan, that means the next upgrade has to be FF IX and oh boy they need it (+ I got Kuja and Garnet recently :p), they'll probably release the first FF VII or VIII unit at the end of the year.

Nice conversation on shitty pulls and gambling today. I think I fall on this side of things:

-- I can see why people would be upset if they're spending money. In this case it definitely IS gambling in that the odds are stacked against the user.

-- however I push back on this because it assumes the primary joy of the game is pulling rare units. Is it? Is that what makes us all most happy? For me I love the collecting part of it but it's such a small part of the experience, especially for FTP players.

-- My primary joy is the same as any RPG. Building unique parties, leveling them up, getting / finding sweet gear, and piecing them together in different ways to tackle different types of battles. This isn't gambling at all. It's grinding and I love it!

-- I also know that whenever PVP comes I'm probably screwed, as I am whenever I get to that certain point in ANY FTP game where paying makes you unequivocally better. Clash of Clans comes to mind. And just like CoC, the game is compelling as hell until you hit that wall.

-- thinking maybe this is the bottom line, then. If the long term goal is to build the perfect team for PVP, you're paying out the nose to compete with whales the world over who have money to burn. You'll probably never crack the top 50 without spending serious cash. But I can't believe many people in this thread see that as a long term goal.

-- so bottom bottom line? Do what brings you joy, man. I'll play until the joy is overtaken by the grind and / or it no longer feels fair. Right now it feels fair.

Altema's summary of the anniversary stream says that it's going to be another FFT event after FFXI with Agrias getting a 6* awakening.

Actually looking at it I know Blade Mastery only needs one Katana but does it add anything extra for a 2nd one? If not I may just swap Miyuki for a Cecil.
