Are there really so few with WKN on here? I guess that makes sense. I can't ever really remember anyone having him up... I only got WKN because I got him on it was either a daily or just random ticket thrown at it. Wasn't after him. (Surprise surprise. Wasn't after Yun either, but they gave me him too.)
JPN got Shantotto (1/2 daily) and Bartz (free). My pulls have been such ass on JPN it's been sad.

Get working on Rikkus TM.
With your group I'd run the team as,
Rem , Ysh or Refia healer
WoL, Cecil or Snow Tank
Rikku or Minfila Support
Vargas , Gilgamesh or Firion attackers
So a mix of those units depending on if you need two attackers, or two healers ect. I think the only thing you're lacking is a super top level dps unit, but still have good attackers regardless.
Summer Lid is still up? I thought the beach bunnies were limited? Is their banner still up?
Basically my set up but without Rainbow robe since I don't have Marie. Throw on Hilldigger instead of HP 30 for some extra attack!
I'll disagree with this.
Commenting on the first part.
Freyja wasn't slept on as much as she was a hybrid unit. The thing about Orlandu, outside of being the one true god of FFBE and following on with Tidus and Aileen is the gear is largely interchangeable. The only real difference is their primarily element.
Frejya on the surface is similar, but due to being hybrid requires a vastly different build to utilize her correctly. She is also more interchangable between DW and DH, depending on your design.
From a design perspective, she is more interesting to build, alongside not hitting the same walls. Physical Resistance(Believe this was added into global with the FFII trial). She's been the most effective one for the last few events, since they've been altering design accordingly to, specifically to Orlandu.
On the second issue, as you stated, a base 5* is hard enough to get it as it. The GL exclusives have allowed for more variance. The chaining meta will not go away, since it's built into the core of the game. What they can do is provide alternative with difference strengths and weaknesses, alongside more units. Due to exclusives, TMs, changes to GL, etc. It does not mean the brute force option of 3 Orlandu still doesn't exist, but Gumi has been taking notes it seems, judging by the previous few. It will be interesting to see if they alter the Robot and how.
But getting back on to the units, that wouldn't be much different than how it is now, not to have have one of those units. I still do not have a single Sezter. I would currently have a better chance at a Rainbow than Sezter. This would limit a lot of my attempts at certain bosses or strategies because I do not have him.
Wouldn't that be the same case? You have limited resources and choose where to spend them. With some luck, you'll get them. I think the point is, the GL units shouldn't be ignore in favor of x unit 4 months? from now.

DPS units really elude me, but Firion is nice as a finisher I find with enhancements. One more on Fin Briar and he's ready to go.
But DPS? Dont have much to work with. Anything coming up to pull for in this regard?

Oh FYI those are not limited. During my initial pull on JP Exvius, I was getting half Naked Fina and Lid. I use Half Naked Fina in my group currently on there.
Ah, ok. Ended up with BT Fina and like 12 SLids. No SBD Fina though. Kinda wanted her just for the novelity aspect. Maybe run a beach team in the Arena one week. lol Maybe I can still get her to drop. Not right now because I have everything from this FFX banner. Unless I really wanted another two Rikkus for two more Pouches... Hmmmm.
Bugged? Hopefully, it on their Anniversary Maintenance fix list. Also, for them to give me more freebies.

Save your lapis for the Onion Knight. And best of luck to get him. If you get one , you can friend unit the other (he'll be very popular) and you'll have one of the best chainers ever.

Is Onion Knight really a must have? The next 5* I want is Dark Veritas and Duke for his TM. Maybe Cloud too because FFVII.
Personal preference aside, he sure is more of a must have unit than any of the other units you mentioned.
My previous (a few months old) guess was for August, add in one or two Global exclusive stuff or getting some event earlier and we should get OK late September.
Onion Knight is not really must have (compared to Aileen/Orlandeau/Tidus/DV/you name it), and some units are better than him, come down to preferences really like he don't have imperil and his strongest attack come from his TM (so RIP enhancement, well maybe with that Equip/TM upgrade feature Japan will soon get)
Aileen enhancement should hit quite close to that banner, too.
I already have Orlandu, Aileen and Tidus now. Would I still need Onion Knight for any reason If I already have this ungodly Trinity?

You don't need any 5* that is not Ayaka/White Lotus Fina/Ramza/Roy/Sage Sakura tbh.

To compensate his lack of imperil, he got a HUGE base ATK of 158(+34 from pots).
For comparison only S2 Lasswell is stronger at 159 ATK(+34 as well).
Other who come close are Beatrix at 156 +34 and 2B at 155 +34
That Nier Automata will probably be the next game changing banner we will get, unless Gumi surprises us with some exclusive broken shit. That 9S TM is just bat shit insane and i wouldn't put it past them to nerf the mitigation skill so it doesn't stack with other mitigation skills.

I really want to know if OK can chain with enhanced Gilgamesh. Once I get the gems I'll test on JP.
I have him on JP and I do think that rating is accurate. I like him a lot and as a new player he is very easy to gear. I think the issues are that he is a dual wield ender, so it can be tricky to time both hits in a chain. It also means no doublehand which seems to be the popular thing (I think somebody posted a picture of how doublehand damage surpasses dual wield at the upper ends). He also has few attack passives. 60% when weilding a katana and that's it.

Just curious, For those who are close to or already have 70 trophies will you be trying for the ring of dominion? I only looked it up a few days ago and it seems like the path to get it is probably worse than the trophies themselves.

Oh good note, last night I finished story. Got the Genji Shield. And just tackled Rain's and Fina's trials. About to tackle Lasswells now. Just realized I didn't get Fina to 6* yet. Lawls. Oops. Maybe after I finish this crap I'll go use Raid Coins and get crap Cactaur. Raise her up then use them on her. Also means now with these tickets I'm building up for OK. I will get you Sir OK. One day~

I've learned that my sanity is more important that nice stuff in this game.
It would be nice for my tanks and healers but Aileen is my main dps and after enhancements she can easily go over the 300% stat cap without it, so it wouldn't be worth grinding unless I had absolutely nothing else to do.

Obviously, I'll grind her TM and put it on my first Fryevia - but then what should this second one use? Enhancer seems so weak in comparison. Make her a Doublehand build? Make her a DW ATK build? Buy "Equip Rod" from Fat Chocobo?

I would say equip rod, rod mastery, Draco spike is a good set. If you do have enough letters and arms though enhancer is a strong set (I believe it's the set Rob uses?)

So for example, Orlandu is like all 7s, so other units with 7s will be just as effective as using a second Orlandu?

Yes, they need to have the same frame to chains (after the first one in the F column), otherwise if one is too fast/slow it breaks.
By the way Orlandeau is 7,5,7,7... it's a trap, literally.

Getting real tempted to do some lapis refreshing now. Only 5% left for dual wield and 10% for bracer, blade mastery and Excalibur. So close to having a real Orlandeau! Should hopefully free up some stuff for Noctis too.

was interesting to see, I've currently got Staff of Wrath instead of Magi Staff, might swap to Magi now. Hmmm I have 2 Elle, one is at 55% which means in the past I must have had more and fused them together not realising how good the TM is, dammit. Well I'll have to get both to 100% I guess. Thanks to the enchanted maze, mog king event and this weeks expeditions, I have Rikku up to Lb level 20 on her 5* form. Once Thursday rolls around I'll get her up to 6* and start on those last 5 Lb levels!

Do you have a Dual Cast or any of your casters?
Could also go with a big weapon for your physical guys.

Had just enough burst pots to get Tidus to LB 25 so now I have him and Rikku up to 25. Think I will save for OK now, I might use some for Wilhelm but not sure he will get much use.
