As for Dazers, there's a dupe trick if you have the W Item materia. Something like select to use it and cancel upon the second select to dupe it nonstop. You can even do this with only one dazer, do something like select an item to use on a character, select dazer, cancel, select dazer, cancel, and num goes up.
This is actually incorrect. Unfortunately you need two or more to do the trick because in order for it to work and multiply you have to select, let's say an elixer, once and choose someone to cast it on and then select that same item again but cancel everytime before you select someone to cast it on.

I just tried to do it starting with two seperate items but it doesn't multiply so I'm assuming the reason the glitch works is because it's reading the same item getting canceled multiple times.

I beat it 4 times in 4 days. Don't be like me.

It's an awesome RPG. Enjoy it.

I will just as soon as I get past the part where I'm raped by every random fight every time. Isn't this the first dungeon? Shouldn't I be fighting Slimes or Caterpies or Goblins? Why am I fighting goddamn Griffons who can OHKO everyone in my party?

And does recruiting these monsters ever become less guess and test?

XII is the only game where I've beaten every uber boss...Omega was the toughest fight to be honest. Never had a boss hit that hard so fast before. I almost beat him legit once but then he turned red...

If you get a chance you must try the Trial Mode on IZJS flavour of XII...the Judges battle blows Omega out of the water (and Omega is the preceding battle).

I've not played IV, but the battles are usually like that the whole game. SMT are sorta brutal that way. = 3

All about luck and exploiting weaknesses. It's best to metagame. Or if you are too much of a wimp go to easy mode.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

I TOLD YOU ABOUT SMT! I TOLD YOU DAWG!

Anyway you will be relieved to know that the beginning of SMT is the most bullshit part of the game (well one of the most), so take your time in there.

I've started playing FFT again and this time I'm going to beat it!

I didn't remember about the random enemies countering every attack and how annoying that was. My potion supply was emptied thanks to that and I had to spend the money won in more potions. At least many JP were obtained. :)

Are you doing WotL or T? Cuz T has the JP Scroll Glitch, but WotL has Dark Knight, 2nd Lionel Quest, Balthier and, uh, even though he's the worst Tactics character: Luso.

War of the Lions with slowdowns and all. I should have started to play in my PSP, but now it's too late...

This time I'm going to try to make Ramza a Dark Knight. I hope it's worth the trouble.

In case anyone was wondering, I just reached Gardenia in FFD, and it is a casino town. Minigames, no iaps, and I dare say that I think there are Chocobo races here. Game redeemed.

I got it working with one Dazer, I remember that much because I was planning to reset if I lost that one Dazer.

Pretty sure that's the steps I did, maybe the order is wrong. It has been several months since I did it though.

this is where Iooked it up on my phone while I was playing, the steps look like what I did

You're right. My game wasn't working properly so I reset. Sorry 'bout that.

Sounds like a good spot for SE to start bleeding gamers dry. Want that special Chocobo? Pay up or else!

I think I don't like the Faith value too much: Mages are even more squishy and buffs fail thanks to skeptical party members but you don't want to raise their faith because then the enemy mages destroy them. I hope I learn to use it to my advantage but for now it's giving more problems than help.

A closer study reveals that it is only BETTING on Chocobo races, which is disappointing. Still, this Casino having NO IAPs is really impressive to me. The place is like the Casino from Pokemon.

I'd play Dimensions but it's on Mobile devices. And the one on those tablets is quite simply horrible to look at.

The plus side is I tend to have my phone on me more often, so I can always play between classes and stuff.

Anyone here know japanese how legit are these posts.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/620272-playstation-vita/67135412

Ha ha ha. I had disregarded it at first but it seems a new set of trademarks have surfaced.

Most likely for social games but the set of trademarks are as follows.

Valkyrie Profile
Saga Frontier
Final Fantasy Type 0-2
Bushido Blade
Bahamut Lagoon

I went looking high and low for how these came about and I was able to find this. All with the help of a Gamefaqs user known as Kouli. And most things that come with Kouli ring true.

http://sag.tank.jp/res/20130829/1377740246/121

This is not the first occurence of trademarks popping up this way. As a month or so back there were trademarks for stuff like Star Ocean(evidently became Material Trader), FF Agito, Deadman's Cross, and what have you.

I inquired about this with Kagari who thinks the same as I. These are most likely trademarks for social games.

TGS and events later this year will be quite interesting.

Musashiden not popping up the same way both kills me (cuz it's forgotten) and makes me happy (cuz it's not being brought back as a social game zombie).

I finally beat IV a moment ago. I liked it quite a bit.

Now for The After Years.

YES. Er, celebrating someone liking it because it means I'm not crazy for liking it.

Anyway, TAY isn't as good as IV, but I think the game is worth it for the BAND system. That said, do yourself and your sanity a favor: either cheat to get the tails, or don't get them at all. The PSP version doesn't include the Wii version's RNG to get them anyway, so there's no point in you doing like I did and spending a month of your life in Rydia's Tale to get the tail and summons.

Oh, but collecting Adamantite from the Challenge Dungeons is MUCH easier, so I DO recommend doing that. Also, even though it is time consuming as hell, collecting the Queen's set and Black Tail from Palom's quest might be worth your time. Black Tail nets you one of the best accessories in the game, and Queen's set includes the Queen's whip, which is required for the funniest Band in the game.

But anyway, just get the Adamantite if you don't feel insane enough to spend your life doing what I did. I invested a LOT of time into TAY, both times.

The After Years was like a romhack gone wrong where they completely forgot what balancing was and the RNG in that game is lol.

I've played plenty of romhacks myself, but man, TAY misses the mark.

I can't say I disagree where the pre-PSP version is concerned. There's a part in the Wii version where I got stuck in a fight because the enemy was stuck using Constrict ENDLESSLY. Like seriously I had to reset because there was no other way to end the fight. And the RNG for the Wii version's Challenge Dungeon reward was stupid hard, because you were almost guaranteed not to get the good item.

Quick! Who were your favorite characters?

I guess the easiest way to answer this is who I put in my top 4 against kefka.

I put, (in order)

Mog (dragoon style)
Terra? (Not sure that is her name, the half esper girl) I renamed most of my characters) with the palladin shield and the illumina
Cerres
Guts

However I also liked the airship guy, Locke, even cyan the knight. I built up all 12 characters (didn't spend much time on the yetti or the mime). I would say gau was my least favorite as I didn't have the patience to learn all the rages or even remember what they did after I learned them.

I thought the character development was really good in this game, I cared about most of the characters and there were a lot. I wax surprised when reading about the game now that Terra is the main character, I can see it now but at the time I thought there really was no main character.

The FF games I have beaten now are,

FfV
FfVI
Ffvii
Ffx

I feel like I'm sort of an odd one when it comes to final fantasy games.

The first one I played was FFX and the first one I finished was the DS version of FF3. I've never really played any of the PS1 games other than playing FF7 for a couple hours. I do own the GBA versions of 1&2 and the PSP version of FFIV but I've never finished them sadly. I do believe I'm near the end of FFIV though. Did own a copy of FFV for GBA but sold it since I never got around to playing it in a year. Then earlier this week I bought a copy of FFVI for GBA.

I've always enjoyed the FF series but I'm always so bad at finishing any game and they are no exception. Think I'm going to do my best to play through 1-6 before X and X-2 HD comes out. I own them both on PS2 but never finished them for whatever reason. I did enjoy FFX and played it almost to the end at least 3 separate times but I've just never made that final push to finish the game. Going to be waiting for the Vita versions to finish those though.

Also never even attempted to play FF2 and I hear it's really different in terms of mechanics. Anyone have any tips for me to ease into it? I hear it's basically your stats go up based on what you do or what happens to you. So instead of choosing someone to be a magic user I just use magic with them and their magic stats go up? I normally go for a tank/melee/caster/healer setup in games where I have a choice.

Terra is awesome and I'm glad you thought so. You should finish the SNES trilogy and play through IV! If you care more about things being beautiful, pick up the PSP version, since it comes with TAY and is a STEAL. If you care more about a good challenge and customization, the DS version is your best bet, although it is a bit more pricey the last time I checked.

Ceodore. I mean, really? Ceodore? Cecil sucks at naming his kids.

Cecil literally took his name and smooshed it into
Golbez!Theodor's name. Of course, if you play any version of FF4 that isn't the DS version, I don't think you get the fact that Golbez was born Theodor Harvey explained to you.
The best part is that Cecil's name is
just the masculine version of his mother's name, Cecilia. So Cecilia Harvey, Cecil Harvey, Ceodore Harvey.

Also, Fusoya lies to Cecil.
Cecil looks nothing like Kluya, but like his mother, Cecilia. GOLBEZ is the one who takes after their dad.

Ah, that explains it.

So SE made the game assuming everyone had played the 3DS version but they only bundled it with a version without the extra story. GENIUS.

It's always in the Ultimania, man. Plus, I think when TAY came out, the DS version may've been the reigning champ. If you're playing the PSP version they might mention the name during the Interlude?

I played the Interlude this morning and nope :(

There is no FFIV Ultimania! It's one of the few installments which doesn't have one.

Don't worry about it. Terra is one of the most boring protags.
I know I said you're a bad influence, but sometimes we agree on a lot. Like this.

If I'd finished my FF6 playthrough, I would've elaborated on why, but eh. I'm glad I didn't push myself through that one. FF4 and FFMQ took a lot out of me just because it took me hours to put those posts together, and the loads of cross-referencing with notes I'd made throughout the years of various bosses and stuff increased that workload.

Lol is there a stigma about renaming characters

Not from me. By my third or fourth go at FF VI I was renaming the entire cast too. It has been so long though that I can barely remember to what, but I believe that I always renamed Celes for the sake of making a pun with the line "So the great Celes has fallen!" I think Star and Snow were names I gave her. Edgar got renamed to Arthur a few times, and Sabin was renamed Muscle once (give me a break, I was a kid). Locke generally just got the "e" at the end of his name chopped off, since this is before I realized that wouldn't actually change the pronunciation of his name. Demonstrating a lack of imagination, I also renamed Shadow "Dark".

I named shadow "Cody" from final fight (white ninja lol), lock I named keys

Terra is one of the best named characters in Final Fantasy...much better than Tina, yuck. Her green haired look is the best, I'm sure blond is more realistic but I didn't like how it honestly looked, she looked kind of frightening with the blond look. Green? So much better.

I prefer the images that depict her mostly blonde with green highlights.

I am the lord of compromise.
