FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 |OT| Change the Future

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Are there any decent guides on how to get the fragments?

Regarding fragments, I can't seem to
the lost watch in yaschas mastiff.

Thanks, Kagari. :)

That's where I'm at too. What do you have to do for Clock Stopper? Sounds like it's looking for preemptive attacks maybe? I've earned a bunch of trophies without trying, but that's one I've yet to get.
100 consecutive pre-emptive strikes. I'm grinding for it in the tunnel because the enemies there don't run after you. I had a good streak going on in the Bresha Ruins outside, but then an Uridimmu caught me and broke my streak, and I was a stupid and didn't save close to that point so couldn't reload. :/

All 100 must be done consecutively. If the timer runs out or an enemy touches you, the counter resets back to 0.

Do Bresha Ruins.

Seriously I was stuck on this for hours, just keep playing. There is more than 2 of those timelines for yaschas.

Need an English version.

Essentially, you capture a mad frog, level it to 19 and then infuse a tonberry, nyaomao, moburinsenta, green chocobo, nekomata, and some others... then infuse mad frog into kichu... the names are probably way different in the English version though.

Holy....

I usually try for preemptive attacks anyway because you gotta love that haste! But 100 in a row is giving me flashbacks to lighting bolt dodging. Though sounds like we can save in the midst of a streak, so at least there's that.

You guys could just keep moving on in the game rather than trying to 100% as early as possible :p

I'm 15 hours in the game, and still in Episode 3. I'm taking my time, and would love to get all the fragments per visit of that timeline. If I can that is.

No. It's in 110 Yaschas. :p Trust me, I was stuck on this forever. Even the CE guide describes this fragment very poorly. Not even on the map or anything.

I see. Dammit and I wasted all my Gyashl Greens. Maybe there's an unlimited Gyashl Green item in the game?

Taking my time to level too though, so might as well get a good chunk of the fragments.

I think for me, it's years of playing RPGs with permanently missable items. I'm trained to look high and low for everything. I can't break the habit, though it drives me batty.

Played another houlf and a half, just left New Bodhum, done for the night. Additional thoughts:

-Anyone else think that flashback scene when you discover the knife was really well done? Serah's VA did an excellent job.
- Actually for that matter, both Serah and Noel have really good VAs.
- Please tell me someone else chose the triangle option for when Noel asks who Snow is!!! The option was something like "He's this really cool guy!" I was rolling, so funny! I always choose the funny responses.

For those who don't know, finding all the Live Triggers or a set amount in a area unlocks an accessory, and answering so many of the triggers with the funny responses (usually 4 or 5 out of 11 or more) unlocks a completely different accessory. CE guide rules, just like the FFXIII one, except I think it'll be much more useful for this game.

Hey GAF, should use some help. Some very minor spoilers (just in regards to area names), around the time you first visit The Void Beyond. Later part of Chapter 3, I believe:

I just got past the visit to the Archylte Steppe. Defeated the boss there, and went back to the Sunleth Waterscape. Defeated the boss there, and got the artifact to use the last gate there. That took me to the Void Beyond, which consisted of a pillar blocking the path and a portal of sorts. This just took me back to the Historia Crux, and the only thing it unlocked was an area called Locked Location - Year Unknown with a blocked gate.

From everything I've read, 2 areas should've unlocked by now, Academia and Serendipity, but I don't see either. Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Edit: They changed "Grand Cross" to "Paradox Scope"?! I liked "Grand Cross" better.

Never!

(Kidding. I know you can't get some fragments until you beat the game. Not really going to bother with all of them yet, tbh.)

At least it's easier than lightning dodging if you're in the right place, lol! It gets so boring after a while, though. I've stopped keeping track, and I'm doing it in the hopes of the trophy popping sooner or later.

I've heard that doing it on the Archlyte Steppe is the way to go, but I'd like to go into that place to enjoy it as opposed to grinding for stuff there.

That god damn haste. It's gone from being useful to an infuriating cocktease. Haste, libra, summons. What are they going to take next out of FF?

holy shit "Eclipse" is such an amazing track and combined with where it plays, at least where it first plays is incredibly atmospheric.

I know I should just play through the story, but I wanted that damn Green Chocobo. Now I have it and am probably way overlevelled for the part of the game I'm at.

I just want libra back. It's fair enough to not to put it in the game but they still insist on using libra points. Where I can watch numbers come in and deduce, yeah, that fucker is vulnerable to lightning my monster will sit there herp de fucking derping away with Fire and Blizzard.

Then maybe towards the end of the second fight the libra screen fills up with shit I worked out five seconds into the first fight.

So about 6 hours in. Just met
Hope in the Seer ruins. But damn, the mini boss fight before him was difficult. Took me about 4 tries to get him, until I added a third commando monster into my party for after I had staggered him.
I must not be very good if the rest of you say the game is easy. Sure most of the enemies along the way can be defeated in under a minuter, but isnt that usually the case with random battles?.

Anyways, story is getting really good. And yes, Noel is super likable.

GODDMAN IT How do you get back to the Viod Beyond. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I missed the damn artifacts to unlock the casino. HELP please.

:/:(

I must not be very good if the rest of you say the game is easy.

Early game is all about boosting stats as much as possible. Strategy is limited because you don't have access to a lot of roles or abilities. Buy your best possible weapons because there's no silly upgrade system this time around. Get your chosen MED and RAV monsters up to second tier and infuse them with as many stray abilities as you can lay your hands on. Get Pulse Knights up to level 20 (which is pretty cheap and trivial using Chocolina mats) and infuse HP +25% to those monsters.

Just go in there with as big numbers as you possibly can. The battles become much easier and you can spend most of your time just flicking between Relentless Assault and Diversity instead of having to Delta Attack or Solidarity.

I have to say I'm loooooveing this game but the freedom of choosing where to go is stupid in this game. most of the time the monsters are way to fucking strong. :/ I just wait to go to the casino. :/
