Serah, Snow, Lightning (maybe) die, seems the new cocoon did the mass sacrifice thing that was trying to be avoided since the beginning of the first game. LOL. 500 years of struggling, and then like a bully kicking a sandcastle down; I love it. Maybe because I've already detached myself from this story. The game really felt like a large DLC with odd writing even compared to the original.

I also think Final Fantasy is getting stale. The story lines and dialog aren't maturing, while the music and story is decaying. The best tracks in the game were from the original, which were themselves not that good when compared to Uematsu. Just before gates I found myself skipping cutscenes when they devolved into "could it really be the thing we already just discussed? blah blah blah, load screen".

The goddess had brough Alyssa back to life when the timeline was changed. So if the timeline is restored, she'll die. That's why in the Paradox Ending she betrays Serah so she can live.

God, this game is addictive as hell. In particular, discovering new eras and exploring them is one of the best things about it. About 25 hours in. I can definitely see this as being on my 2012 GotY list.

In academia 4xx? Rewind time. Where you have to give hope/aly all the cores and so on, they will give you a OOpart, which you can take, or not take. You took it in the game and the story unfolded the way it did. This time just dont take it.

So far the only thing id give XIII-2 over XIII is that ive been able to move in directions other than a straight line.

Then again, Im wierd and didn't hate XIII. I definitely think that the story presentation in XIII is a cut above that of this sequel too, for whatever thats worth. It just comes off as less nonsensical.

Well, I was enjoying the Proto Fal'Cie stuff. it made somewhat good use of seeing the effects of time travel and the like. Parts of the story are actually interesting. The XIII series is full of good ideas though.

well, bottom line is that the screen just blacks out during playing. out of
nowhere. sometimes for1-2 minutes and then the picture appears again.
and then 2-3 minutes later the same. PS3 version. never had anything
like that. also just played through UC3 and Skyrim without any issues.
I'm playing on a rather older Toshiba right now as I'm living in a serviced
apartment at the moment away from home.can only do 720p, but as I
said, no issue with other games OR other media (stuff from stick or even
hulu plus or nhl gamecenter). I just chagend the pic settings to 720p
and that's that.

Also having some white pixels/grizzle from time to time which. never had
before. Thought it might be a problem with the HDMI cable, but it works
just well outside of FFXII-2.

Very strange. Any ideas what I could do? Mess around with the picture
options?

To be honest I won't be too pissed off about the DLC if it's priced right according to their quality/length. So say the Lightning episode is around 7-10 hours play time, as was stated before it

exactly! It's a lot to do with the fanbase getting hyped for the game or not. Skyrim was hyped as well whereas FF13-2 seemed to enjoy negative feelings from the moment it was revealed.

It happens to me too from time to time and with different games. Sometimes it even lose HDMi signal and I have to change channel and go back to have it again. Sure something to do with the cable or TV. Anyway usually when it starts to happen, I just switch channel and go back again. It solves it most of the times.

you're looking for fragments and choose to ride them as opposed to doing the fragment quests on-foot. You need 10000 steps, iirc.

My alternative plan was to attach a rubber band to the controller so that

the chocobo rides in circles for a few hours while I'm out or sleeping, wake up/come back and then get off the chocobo so that the trophy would pop.

But I guess I'll try the fragment quests route instead. That's why I haven't really been looking for fragments or sidequests.

I've scoured places like the second area you go to in the game

for ages looking for the last 1 or 2 fragments to no avail. There are like two areas I can't get to, plus a treasure chest that I can't access as I just jump right past it.

How do I change the area to allow acquirement? Please don't spoil me with story stuff. The closing and opening of gates confuses me as I still don't fully understand how it affects areas and allows me to get to places/items I couldn't before. Or do I have to return at a later date in the game? Also applies to side-missions that can't seem to be completed.
