FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 |OT| Change the Future

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
If I defeated Ochu, should I have no problems with immortal? Now yomi and long gui I probably won't be able to beat.

Ochu is easy actually. Immortal is easier. You could perform the poison trick on Yomi but it will take some time. Long Gui on the other hand is hard and pretty long.

I maxed out all roles and got 1100+ str for Noel. Who should I attack to get the 99,999 damage trophy?

I got it from defeating the final boss again after getting all paradox endings. Noel with Bravery and the boss with Deprotect + his stagger gauge about to deplete = 99999!

You need all 7
Where do you get the ones in
Sunleth? I walked around the end by the pillar according to the picture and never found it.
Also. does anyone know where you can find the gate for
Oreba 400?

Oh, I noticed a ways back there was a website or some advice for those stupid clock puzzles, anyone have a link?

Is collecting 10k casino coins for the trophy cumulative?

Is bravery included in one of the synergist's spells?

I used a really cheap strategy, but it worked wonders! What I did was getting a decent SEN monster, in my case it was one of those mecha robots you get in the Augusta Tower, and maxed him out (early peaker); he ended up with about 6500 HP. Afterwards I went into that fight with Serah as SAB, and the SEN monster in all my paradigms, this way while the SEN monster got all the attention and damage from Caius, Serah debuffed and dealt wound damage to Caius which is very useful since his HP constantly regenerates. After about 10 minutes his max HP got reduced to 27009, which appears to be his minimum max. HP (http://i.imgur.com/HX1ut.jpg), at which point a barrage of spells with Serah as COM or RAV should be enough. Obviously have a MED/SEN paradigm for when its needed, and having the SEN monster know Mediguard helps a lot too.

What about his reraise? Wouldn't that negate it when he revives himself? Also the sen I use is a silver chocobo, not sure what level >_>

The 10k casino coins trophy isn't cumulative. The count resets everytime you exit Serendipity so you have to get all 10k coins in "one sitting". If you try to do this via the slot machines, keep in mind that when putting coins in the machine and not getting a prize substracts from your 10k counter.
I was lucky enough to get 7500 coins in a couple of turns one of the times I went to the slot machine, afterwards I won some chocobo races and got the trophy.
And yes, bravery is a SYN spell, but neither Serah or Noel learn it, you have to use a monster.

After he re-raises himself his max HP will still be 27009

awesome, I'll give it a try.

is there anyway to ensure the debuffs will go on him? Honestly, trying to poison or wound or deprotect him in previous battles was painfully annoying :( )

Having Serah learn the SAB bonus boost when her crystarium expands helps I think. It doesn't really matter if the debuffs go on him or not though, the thing is the wound damage, which all debuffs deal whether they actually stick on not.

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
I just made it to
Academia
and am loving most of the game so far. Not too big on the monster-using element of it, and I think I messed up the difficulty curve by grinding to beat
Caius in Oerba
. But still having a lot of fun, lovely music and I really enjoy the whole surreal nature of the storyline and environments you go to. The way it's set up, it's like FFX-2 done right.

The spoiler thread being called "WHY TORIYAMA WHY" gave me a chuckle. I have yet to try the game, but that doesn't bode well for those hoping for a better story...unless its just so hilariously over-the-top convoluted and terrible then I guess that's entertaining in its own right.

Wait seriously? The casino is bullshit. Is there an easy way to amass 10k gold?

What's the 'trick' to poisoning Yomi? I tried the battle this morning and managed to poison him but when he uses impenetrable barrier or whatever, it just heals away. I survived until it was about 40% health but then it used that whirlwind attack twice in a row and I didn't have enough HP to survive both ;_;

I seem to be missing something.

On my first visit to Archylte Steppe ???AF I killed the
Faeryl and got the Black Gem Fragment
, but when I return to Sunleth 300 AF the
Giant Flan
is still there and hasn't changed into
Mutantomato
.

Did I miss a step?

EDIT: nvm, I needed to go someplace else first.

Win chocobo races till your chocobo has to retire, repeat. With a maxed out gold chocobo and lots of chocoboosters to improve his status pre-race you should be able to have amassed over 5k at time of retirement, at which point you can retrieve him and then enlist him in the races once more and when you think you have over 10k exit the chocobo racing menu and hope the trophy pops up
having the Clock Master fragment skill, which you get after getting all 160 fragments, can make this less boring since it speeds everything in the game up except the CG cutscenes
. Otherwise you'll just have to rely on luck on the slot machines.

You should only worry about Yomi (and the one in Oerba 400)

Long Gui gets handled quite easily when you just switch to tri sen before he stomps and tri medic when he does one of those AOE attacks, nothing to worry about.

I don't really feel like playing the game for a while; the whole bestiary thing is just putting me off.

And re: chocobo racing, I do find Gold is good for 600m races, Silver for the 1200/1800 ones. It helped that my Silver had some perk that always made the odds higher than usual, even if I was a favorite to win. So instead of having the usual 1.1 odds, it'd be at 2 or sometimes at 5 and it made getting the 10k achievement/trophy a lot easier.

Filling out the bestiary isn't as terrible as it sounds. If you explored maps and ran around without a chocobo doing each sidequest and fighting most enemies, chances are you'll have already filled out the majority of it. I did it like that and I was only missing rare monsters mostly, and using the fragment skill that increases the odds of running against rare monsters, it took a couple of hours to do it.

Huh? What level were your roles? Did the Guis get nerfed in this game? :/

Crap story, great gameplay.

Hhmm, well, I seem to digest jRPG stories better than most, so no problem there, great to hear about the gameplay, I couldn't taste much with that demo.

My courier just showed up as I was writing this, nice cover, it's pretty, reaaaally looking forward to pop this bad boy tonight.

Just got a Green Chocobo crystal in only my second ever encounter. That's good right? Additionally, it's totally replacing my Cait Sith as the MED as its stats are so much better.

A good addition?

Why am I not surprised that the final boss is
a) a whole bunch of boss fights strung together with no way to save between them and b) contains attacks that are impossibly hard to survive even with characters that are lv99 in their main roles
. So now I gotta go back to the last save point and fucking grind, just for the last boss? LAME.

Guess they want you to do as much as you can before tackling it.
I lucked out on the final boss...took me about two hours to take down the last bit. Target time is about 10-12 minutes, according to the game. What the fuck?

I'd probably be OK if it wasn't for
any of the Flare attacks from the Bahamuts... Gigaflare, Teraflare, Exaflare, it doesn't matter which one, it takes out my whole party
. Got any tips for how to deal with that? The guide on gamefaqs is useless, it requires stuff I don't have.

Use Sen/Sen/Sen for your party and guard before it activates.

I'm loving the story myself. The writing is okay, but the intrigue and pace are absolutely great.

I agree with the pacing and intrigue, it definitely hooks you in and keeps you playing. It just has a lot of "huh?" and "okay.. sure?" moments. It makes my head hurt if I try to make any sense of all the time traveling shenanigans. Best enjoyed if you just go with it and don't take it too seriously.

Strange. Other forums said it's not cumulative. I've lost 2.5k from my total wins. :(

I don't get how the count actually works.

Do I bet on my gold chocobo all the time (because his wins are usually just 10 gold)?

This isn't true at all. I got about 5k coins in Chocobo Races after a bit of frustration. Decided to leave to get a Cactaur to infuse to my Gold Chocobo so I could give it the Sprinter ability to make things easier, came back and got 5k more, exited the Chocobo races and the trophy popped.

Not sure why I keep seeing that you have to do it in one sitting everywhere.

Foffy's tip worked for me. Also
they display Count: 3 then 2 then 1 before they do their mega attack, so that's what gives you time to switch to SEN/SEN/SEN
.
