FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 |OT| Change the Future

I like this game but there's some pretty confusing stuff...I was stuck because I needed one more fragment for that guard in Breshna and that ID thing, which I had and didn't even know...it unlocked Yaschif and Oerba but now I am stuck at the Temporal Rift puzzle on Oerba...I have no idea what to do and they don't even repeat the instructions after the first time...is there a site that explains those annoying puzzles?...looks like I absolutly need to clear this one to progress with the game.

connect the dots by holding x on a crystal and dragging it to the other one. you want to connect dots that are the same colour. the general shape is given at the beginning to give you an idea to what crystals have to be connected.

So is there a conensus as to which monster makes the best Synergist? Obviously Noel and Serah are both pretty terrible Synergists (well, Noel's passable, but Serah...), so I'm guessing I'll need a monster to fill that role for post-game challenges and the DLC Lightning/Amodar battle (which I'm still having trouble with). I've caught a few Synergist monsters so far, but none of them seem particularly good...

Also, what about Saboteurs? Is it generally recommended to use a certain monster for that role as well?

Sunleth Waterscape in
400 AF
was really cool and different.
I want a pet flan now.

I just arrived in
Vile Peaks 200 AF
, and that music is just incredible to hear.
Still the best battle theme in any Final Fantasy game.

I can't believe how stupid the people in the XIII universe are.
Why the hell would you make your own fal'Cie and then give it the ability to make C'ieth?

So, umm, my last fragment is the Bestiary one. Anyone know the best way to go about finding out which enemies you haven't faced?

Is there a list somewhere?

GameFAQs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/619315-final-fantasy-xiii-2/faqs/63733

I compared my bestiary to this and made a list of missing monsters and their locations. A few locations may be wrong (it says Mud Frog can be found in sunny weather, which I think is false), but a Google search often helped me find out the locations of certain rarer monsters.

This one is slightly more detailed and has notes on a few of the rarer monsters:

I am still not that far into FFXIII-2 but I am absolutely loving it so far!

I am currently in the middle of finding all the Graviton Cores and am about to go to the Vile Peaks once I can find one more wild artefact.

I finally got back to the game tonight, and ran into my first MOTHERFUCKEN CHOCOBO at Bresha Ruins 300AF. Naturally, I gassed him up with greens, and let him go.

Yakshini is. Some say the Purple chocobo buffs are longer, but the Yakshini's feral link is godly. It heals you, and puts all the buffs back on you. I have a level 70 one.

I would really like to figure out what are good monsters to use in the game as well. I honestly am only using two classes and I haven't changed them since the beginning of the game.

I really need to get a better healer as well. I have been using Cait Sith since the beginning of the game but his health isn't that great at all. Level 45 and only 1300 health.

If you want the best COM in the game, go for the Chichu. I can never spell this things name right. :p

As of right now, his str beats Neol and Serah, plus I'm on my way to making him a god with those infusion techniques.

Why RPG's feel the need to have 5 boss battles before the 'real' boss is beyond me. And also offer no save points.

Hope the ending's worth it.

Stand back, stand clear as he puts on a show.

I wasted so much gil getting greens to ride it. I love Crazy Chocobo. It should of been the main Chocobo theme.

I almost never rode the rambunctious chocobos in the game because they ate up greens way too fast... the game said there was a fragment skill that would allow you to ride them for longer but there is no such fragment skill!

How did I get the Giant's Fist trophy? Hoooooowwww? I just had Noel and Serah doing double damage on (late-game/postgame sidequest enemy spoilers)
Twilight Odin
, and someone did 99 999 damage on it. I don't know who or how because Noel's STR is still a little above 800 and Serah's MAG is around 800.

It must've been when Noel used Smite or something, and that Stagger Gauge wasn't even at 999% either; it was at about 600-700% :|

Didn't feel as satisfying as when Fang got 99 999 with one of her attacks in FFXIII because I pushed the gauge to 999% and used a Tier-1 weapon when I did that. :/

I think it's if you gather more fragments, then it'll eat up less greens?

Hmm, maybe.

As for that trophy, I got that trophy using Kweh (Gold Chocobo feral link) against the final boss with 999% chain guage and I got 400% feral link sync. I have probably done over 99,999 with Noel's meteor javelin in other situations... Isn't damage limited to 99,999 unless you use a special move or something?

I have 80% of the trophies so far! Ugh. Working on the bestiary now. Some of those things are a bitch to find. Like this one rare in Academia 500 AF, no where to be seen.

If it makes you feel better, I don't have Saddle Sore or Strategist yet. I only started going trophy hunting last night, so I'm pretty behind.

It seems so in this game. It's been a while so I can't remember if it were possible to go over 99 999 in FFXIII with a regular attack. Pretty sure by the end of it all with ultimate weapons, Fang was chopping away at enemies with high damage counts, overkilling in many cases.

You just need an enemy with a high HP count to get that trophy so that the damage can build up without killing the enemy, so the final boss or a Long Gui would probably be sufficient for it.

I just got strategist tonight. Saddle Sore I think you have to ride the chocobo for like an hour non stop.

Anyone hear of an enemy called Tezcatlipoca?

He's in the very northeast part of
Academia 500. If you already fought something on that platform you have to lock the gate and go through the whole maze again.
Battlemania is helpful.

Ewww. I loathe this level. ;( But I swore to myself this would be my very first platinum for any game. So I must I guess. I guess I didn't fight him or see him, I never have closed this gate before.

At the very top then?

Just east down the stairs of the last platform before the final boss. Only thing that can spawn there is the thing you need (rare), or a set of two other woodwraiths. Once you kill either, nothing will spawn there again.

I am starting to like this game a lot more. The beginning was a tad rough, a tad mediocre. The old typical anime gang from the original really annoyed me. After getting to the Historia Crux, and ridding myself of that despicable gang, XIII-2 becomes awesome.

This is surpassing my love for XIII, and I'm only on the 13 hour mark. I probably just made it to episode 5
I destroyed the Proto Fal'cie, and opened the gate.

How many episodes are there?

Yes, it was limited in FFXIII, it required having a Genji Glove accessory equipped to break the limit. (But the limit was not in place on summons or highwind etc.). There is a Genji Glove accessory in this game, but it doesn't do the same thing... nor does any other accessory say anything about breaking the limit. SO I am assuming that the limit is simply always in place except for with meteor javelin and feral links

Oh, d'oh, I forgot about the Genji Glove. :lol I always had one of those equipped, so I can't believe it slipped my mind.

I'm surprised that there are no "break damage limit" weapons, then. But there isn't really a tremendous need to break the damage limit in this game (as helpful as it was in FFXIII). Wonder if Ultima Arrow can break the damage limit? tbh, I haven't been using Serah as the leader much outside of random switching to make her prioritize certain attacks over others.

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I recommend getting all fragments first if you haven't attempted to get the Saddle Sore and Strategist trophies. If you have all fragments, you can get
a fragment skill that fastforwards gameplay time.

I'm sure there is no "limit" on the damage Ultima Arrow does, but I don't think Ultima Arrow is capable of reaching 99,999 damage let alone going over that.

I think it can only be described as a significant oversight that a battle doesn't pause if your batteries run out.

My controllers get disconnected all the time... usually not in battle, though, but it did happen to me the other day when I was fighting Yomi. That wasn't fun D:

Yashinki is pretty awesome and whom I recommend. You can get him in the Vile Peaks. His repertoire of buff spells is great.

Finally got this game. I kind of laughed when I opened the EU Collectors Edition and saw the 3D Lenticular poster of Lightning. Now fans can gaze at her in admiration from any angle at any time XD

If it's one thing this game will be remembered for it will be how annoying Chocolina gets... Maybe Square-Enix knows they've doomed the series with their latest attempts at the franchise with XIII and XIV.

Well, the prequel actually wasn't too bad but it looks like they're trying new ideas and trying to break into a new market.

It feels a mish-mash of ideas... Pokemon, Steins;gate, Terminator = /

I don't know about you guys...but when I'm riding a chocobo the last thing I want to hear is heavy metal rapping lyrics about chocobos.

If you get enough fragments, you can purchase the "set default chocobo theme" skill.

It hurts my ears. So far I've only heard it while riding the rambunctious chocobo. Hope it stays that way.

I quite like the regular riding song though. It has a fun, jaunty beat.

Spent just over an hour playing the beginning tonight. Like what I've played so far, other than the QTEs and Mog's noises. What exactly does my complete game FFXIII save unlock?

- an adornment
- Lightning PS3 theme (her first screenshot during the reveal)
- more luck in the casinos I think

A gamerpicture of Lightning (on 360. Is it the same on PS3?) and a key item called Eternal Crystal which is said to help your odds in the casino.

Okay I'm finally going back into the game after a hiatus I took to play TWEWY. Bought and downloaded the Noel and Lightning DLCs, now patching! :D
