FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 |OT| Change the Future

Fuck me. I just found out that my fiancee purchased me FFXIII-2 for Valentine's Day. She saw my copy of FFXIII on the shelf and thought I'd want it because of that -_-

I guess it's free and I promised myself I get the game when it was price dropped to ten cents, but I would have preferred Darkness 2 :/

Of course I acted like this when I found out: :D :D JUST WHAT I WANTED YEEEEE :D :D

(Inside my head: "oh god no..." D: )

Just go in to it with low expectations, and you'll be pleasantly surprised by the gameplay and 60FPS loading screens.

I think the worst area framerate wise is Sunleth with the big flan and the little flans, and Academia 500, where all those rotating cubes/pillars/boxes.

I’m on the final chapter, just made my way through the main part and man… getting my ASS handed to me by
Chaos Bahamut
. I think I’ll go back and collect more fragments / get my SAB levels up before trying again. I was mainlining most of the main story so I’m only at about 45 fragments now. Time to grind!

So what's the word on the Lightning DLC fellow GAffers, is it really hard? Not worth it?

By the way, is there any more DLC confirmed?

I use my Monster on my party only to heal Noel & Serah wil something like that will be possible with the DLC? I wanted to get it, but if it's a hard battle then forget it...I'm in for the fun on this one, not for the challenge.

Thanks in advance.

We still don't know. Other than they want to give us DLC episodes, Novels, and other means to tie into the story. I wonder if it'll be weekly or monthly. This week's is just a Coliseum fight. Not worth the $3 in my opinoun. The Noel costume is even a bigger rip off, but I bought that one in despite of his ugly starter costume. :p Prepare to pay $14 or $29.99 for the story DLC.

If 29.99 will be, than a "DA: Awakening" type of experience I expect :p (edit. yeah, my english is worse than Yoda's one, I know lol)
But something similar to the "The Missing Link" from Eidos will probably be the target. A 4/5 hrs of gameplay for 11.99 euros.

Finished a first playthrough after the weekend and several long nights in a row. I rarely indulge (or can excuse ) such concentrated gaming during the week, but this one got its hooks into me. Will get into post-game content after a short breather.

I stuck with iirc a renamed Spiranthes (MED), the Tabasco Toad (RAV), and Pulsework Gladiator (SEN) for most of the game, aided by infusing whatever seemed right from other monsters. Spiranthes wasn't just a good healer for most of the game but I had both Gilfinder and the 320% drop skill (forget name) so his usefulness was obvious. Near the end I did switch to a Green Chocobo (MED) though. The Tabasco Toad was the only "late bloomer" monster I fully leveled, and it was a shock to watch the stats build tremendously near the top, plus Heat Blitz.

Anyway, not going for any DLC as of now. I'll just put in FFXIII to play as Lightning. I personally would really go for fighting FFIX's Steiner and Beatrix as a team though.

My controllers get disconnected all the time... usually not in battle, though, but it did happen to me the other day when I was fighting Yomi. That wasn't fun D:

Yeah, fortunately it was just an easy battle against 3 mobs that I had the jump on so Noel and my Mini-Flan were able to win w/o Serah's help but I was blown away.

Thanks for answering. Guess I'll pass this tiny DLC then, the other Story DLC I might bite, it will depends on price since I never was a big DLC-lover.

So has anyone caught Amodar or is he uncatchable?

As an aside, did they remove the player's stagger bar from this game? I remember they had in in 13 and it was completely pointless.

He is but the percent is really low apparently.

And yeah they still have a stagger bar for whatever reason.

Hmm, I know it is from thesitethatcannotbenamed but it appears that 13-2 has now reached 2 million copies sold worldwide. I'd wait for the press release before celebrating though.

I got the Lightning and Amodar DLC...anyone have any tips on how to beat them? I tried and I couldn't lol (most likely bc I'm not high enough lvl, im only like in the 20's lol) So if anyone can give me any help or suggestions I'd really appreciate it. It was funny when I saw Amodar come into battle carrying that freaking huge ass gun, I thought to myself awww shit T_T haha :p But I'm really enjoying the game so far can't wait for more DLC ^_^

My Chichu. I'm sure he is a little messed up. But I tried to get all the monsters and maxed them into mud frog, then into him. Though I didn't get fencer. Oh well. Still he is a beast.

Sorry for the webcam quality. His attack is 1220, plus all these.

That's awesome! Crazy nice stats. So what exactly did u do to get that? I'm not really far into the game yet only like chapter 4 (Been busy with work/school) :/ Is that what you used to defeat lighting and amodar?

He's not the best. I've seen one that had 1500 or so attack, lol.

Archilitye Steppe. There are some red flowers by Nomad camp, to the north of the red catacuar way stone. Throw Mog into the flowers, he will get him for you.

Sweet thanx ^_^ I'm gonna try and play more and lvl up and get better monsters and then go back and fight Lightning to try and capture her. So I'm sure something like that will help much better than what i have now haha

Just so you know, it doesn't start off like that. You have to max it, then you have to find a mud frog. Max it. Then find like 5 or 6 other things, max them. Then infuse it into mud frog, then infuse him into Chichu.

If I were to get fencer, and green chocobo. Can I fuse them into him, or does it need to be into mud frog first, then into Chichu?

connect the dots by holding x on a crystal and dragging it to the other one. you want to connect dots that are the same colour. the general shape is given at the beginning to give you an idea to what crystals have to be connected.

Thanks man, that was a whole lot easier once I knew what I was aiming for lol...also the game is back to being awesome now that I'm on the right area's but going to the harder places first still helped in a sense, found some good monsters and raised my Crystarium a lot...Now the game is easy again,I mean I five starred Caius...I have a munchkin with almost 5,000 HP.

Rygdea and the Cavalry would make a great colosseum DLC battle!
I wouldn't buy it.

The Adventures of Rygdea and the Cavalry should have been the sequal. Does it make sense to do that? No, but I don't think SE cares about making sense (for better or worse).

Well I'm Ch. 6 and decided to go do some Casino stuff, so I'll try out Chocobo racing with my Silver Chocobo~
BTW IIRC, there is an item you get for having an FF13 save file that affects the casino; where can I find it?

Nothing affects the casino, it's a lie. I think all that appears is some Masks in the plaza.

Silver is in Academia 400. The green hologram of Cocoon by hope. Throw mog into the middle of it. I think it requires the upgraded version if the throw.

I caved and bought the DLC. Got the game with a gift card so it's not like I spent anything on it to begin with...

Honestly, Noel's new outfit is awesome. It looks like Amano. This should have been his default. The "stuck in the 90's/early 2000's preppy nu metal" look that you get out of the box is lame.

Any tips?

As long as you're killing it with a feral link, that's about the only thing you can do to make your taming chances better. As for running into one, the little pathway that runs along the area where you can jump up with a chocobo seems to be the best place to encounter them. And killing them quickly is easy, just stagger them and keep them in the air so they can't choco cure.

I see thanks. So any tips for Chocobo racing? I just bet on my Silver Chocobo and activate both it's abilities...and that's just about it.

Thats what I do actually. I use at least 3 feral links and no crystal....sad panda.

Just the general tips I read online:

- Level to max
- Fuse with Pulse Gladiator, Cactuar, Mirochu (optional?)
- Gas him up with greens and see him go, at the choco rodeo

I'll be trying the Chocobo Racing myself this weekend, I gave up on the slots (though I got the fragment)

Academia (400AF) is really starting to upset me.

I don't understand the thought process behind this area. Even when I first got there the battles were all extremely easy, but they're so frequent...that place is damn annoying to return to.

I finish every battle in 7-10 seconds. The frequency is very irritating, though.

I feel like they just went overboard with it. It hit a point where I was purposely letting the Mog Clock expire so I could move forward in the damn alley, otherwise I would get stuck in the same area as they kept respawning too quickly.
