Have they released patch notes for what has changed this week? I know the patch itself has been in the launcher for a while but I don't remember the notes being available when I last checked.
 
So just got invite to PS3 Beta, what am I in for? I haven't literally looked at nothing about this game any place as a total noob I should start?
 
Do I have to set up a one-time password? The site is not particularly clear about it being a hard requirement, but I'm unable to log in at all using my credentials.

Well, then I'm really f'in confused right now because it keeps telling me my credentials aren't correct despite them working perfectly fine on the Square Enix site.

Edit: Okay, I had to register for ANOTHER Square Enix account. Jesus Christ.

so wat do the new players think about the story?
I was really surprised how much of it tied into 1.0
seemed weird to just drop ppl into the middle of it
 
How long does the download process take? I downloaded the 28 mb launcher, and now I'm downloading a bunch of stuff (Updating the Updater/Launcher Version)...

nvm it finished...

That's an interesting question. I'll chexk tomorrow to see if I still have them on my retainer. Although with the addition of the sprint command I have a feeling they either changed the bonus the shoes gave, or removed them altogether.

It should still be there
it now gives you +10 sec to sprint while in city
No time limit
 
How people get ps3 codes? I put the FFXIII code years ago for ps3 beta and never got a ps3 invite, I also watched the FFXIV video on the ps store.
 
I downloaded all the updates (took forever) and now I'm looking at a black screen with the prelude playing for the last 5 minutes. Is my game frozen or should I keep waiting?

preorder gets to play it early
so i assume they will make available a downloadable client somehow

Just signed up for IGN prime to give my friend a code. I hate giving IGN money. Oh, and the reason I did it instead of him was because I wanted to see if they would charge right away.

10 minutes people! Hold on to your asses!

Tonight, I'm going to test playing the beta on my laptop, tethered to my Galaxy Note II, playing over Verizon 4G LTE. I'm going to test connection stability, latency, and also how well my laptop can run this beta. That benchmark gave me a score of 3944 in 720p/Maximum, so I'm hopeful that the beta will run well in 720p. There's no hope for 1080p on my laptop, haha.

Hmm, wish they did this from the start. I'm pretty attached to my Ultros character and want to finish him up so I can see the rest of the Ul'dah storyline. My 1.0 character on Sargatanas I reluctant to work on because that is the one I'll be playing at launch and I don't want to have to do quests twice (again, at launch) just so I can do dungeons and such. I'll probably use him to do some high level FATEs though. (I halfheartedly recommend it to players who may want to join us in the final release.)

EDIT: "Duties!" I was totally looking for a name to label events under! This works out great.
