Question about the guilds in the game... I used to play XIV 1.0, but I think they may have changed how they work. If I say... join the Conjurer's Guild, will that prevent me from joining another one if I want to change classes/jobs later? What benefits do the guilds give now? They used to let you learn skills/abilities.

I hate to be that guy but, square should be serving up a crow buffet to all the naysayers two years ago, saying this couldnt or wouldnt be done.
Also sucks that i dont get off work for four hours, and the last thing i saw was an amazing natural structure in Thanalan. So hyped.

Is it known whether the retail game will work similarly?
You will have to buy both PC and PS3 at retail separately if you want to play on both. However they both share your single account.

Alright, sorry to ask again, but I'm really confused: Can I not play as my character from 1.0? I loaded the data, but I'm level 1.
I tried contacting the people in the OP via tell and it hasn't worked (unable to send message or w/e). No one seems to be answering my says or shouts also, so I don't know what is up.
Also it figures they would make everyone be unable to remember the "heroes of light". Easiest way to do it, but disappointing...

Apparently, unless they changed this recently. I am surprised a single key is getting people into both betas, even their sign up page asked you to chose only one.
EDIT: Well, not ONLY one. But it asked you to choose one or both.

Yeah, I got into the PS3 beta, but a quick install of the PC client lets me play on PC as well. FFXI worked similarly to this so I would not be surprised to see this not change.

Possible no leaders are online right now. For example, I'm Google from the OP and I'm not online right now. But I will be in 5-6 hours.
the 1.0 characters can't be imported until next week I think, and even then it won't work on Ultros. There are special servers for it
V1.0 characters won't be available until next weekend test. And there's a special starting storyline for those characters.
Yes, if you have an extra one that'd be lovely. I really want to get into an MMO again, but at a more casual level than my last attempts. I want to try to be balanced in something like that, since in previous experiences - like LOTRO - I was so bad I stayed up 72 hours once and was the first with 4 other people to hit the level cap upon launch release.
This time around, gonna make sure I only dedicate two hours per night to the affair

The models are ps4 quality, seriously the actual models look incredible, environments have great art, graphics are amazing, and I have a MID teir card
You can't change classes in 2.0 until after you complete the Level 10 class quest.
It's all part of the new and much-needed tutorial process.
This is not true, at least for legacy server GAF. While we have had GAF flakes, we've still remained alive, active and consistent with a core group of players to the point where we achieved end game on different levels. We will continue this standard inoto ARR. While I can't speak for Ultros, I could say based off the amount of new players and whatnot, there's a more likely chance they'll flake after a month or so. But NeoBelieve (Gathered Against Fate) and Red Dot will prosper on Sargatanas. We have a very supportive, fun, and friendly community established here. That won't change.
We will more than gladly offer a warm welcome to any of GAF that joins us on Sargatanas .
Yeah, it's a great track, certainly one of the stand-outs so far.
(Oddly, it offers reminders of the Persona 4 title screen tune; dunno, am I picking up on similar chords or something? Any road, 'tis no bad thing!)
